The game is condemned as woke for the high crime of ...having a mixed race relationship.
Stardew Valley has potential gay relationships, with a visual indicator that you're not enough of a completionist (the game is not a sandbox, it's essentially about completionist, esp. as of the recent update) if you don't "romance" every single character. It also has gay adoption and post-birth abortion body horror (and that in a game whose developed . It's therefore bad for kids, who might stumble into a fag relationship just fucking around doing stupid shit. This the first time I've seen anyone claim that Stardew Valley is a woke game, and it's for an incredibly retarded reason. Holy shit. It's a game where you fish, grow plants and raise animals and befriend villagers, for God's sake.
The main char and her female love interest, from what I've heard. SO this narrows it down to three possibilities:Signalis kinda has the reputation of being a woke game, but that's mostly because of its fan base, who are obsessed with making yuri content involving the main char and her love interest.
Celeste has good music. But wasn't the trooning out thing retconned by the creator to curry favor?I liked Celeste even though the entire game is pretty much an allegory for trooning out.
I dunno. Probably but unlike the matrix, Celeste really does give the vibe that it was made by someone mentally disturbed.Celeste has good music. But wasn't the trooning out thing retconned by the creator to curry favor?
None of these actually. It's basically isometric silent hill 2, with androids, taking place in space east germany. The main char's partner only shows up very briefly right at the end, and in only the secret ending do you do anything remotely romantic with her (the two characters dance for like 10 seconds), with no sexual themes whatsoever. It's an unironically good game, if you like survival horror. The main char and her female love interest, from what I've heard. SO this narrows it down to three possibilities:
- dyke game for dykes
- coom game for men
- woke
The Game
Signalis is a Isometric Survival Horror Game that wears its influences on its sleeves, Eva, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Lovecraft, The King in Yellow, and hell even has a System Shock Reference in there too. I almost don't want to talk too much about the game, it is truly worth a playthrough if it sounds interesting to you. Pirate it, buy it from a key reseller, commit tax fraud to buy it, however you get it I truly recommend you give it a shot in spite of the Devs or fanbase.
IIRC they've done some other sweet baby shit recently but that genderswap feature actually sounds really fun even if it was made for retarded reasons.I nominate Shovel Knight (although I'm not up to date on it).
In the original version, every important character, except the hero's love interest, was male. When I played, they just added the option to switch individual characters' sex, prominently featuring the group settings "default" (no faggotry) and "opposite" (girl fighting girls and rescuing boy, played as a joke and still no faggotry). At that point I'd say the game would be mostly ok for children and the possibility of faggotry could be ascribed by parents to developer stupidity. Last I heard, they added a separate setting for pronouns, including genderspecial pronouns, that don't have to match the body, which makes the game Not For Children.
But an adult (probably -- maybe they added other soyshit) can just not touch the settings and enjoy a non-woke playthrough (ideally by pirating the game).
Ultrakill, which has an infamously troon infested fanbase but is still a really well done FPS.
Basically, they wrote actual characters instead of stereotypes.I love bugsnax and it's woke as fuck but the story kinda unintentionally undermines it. Out of the 13 grumpuses theres two gay guys in a relationship, two lesbians in a relationship, and a non-binary. 5 out of thirteen are different flavors of fag and most of the men are incompetent especially the husband in the only straight relationship. The thing is that the crux of the story is that every character in the game is a complete fuck up, so yeah there's a non binary but it's an asshole who everyone hates and does unethical experiments on people and there's a gay couple but ones a paranoid conspiracy skitzo who thinks there partner an idiot and constantly talks down to them and lies to "protect them". Basically all the woke shit gets balanced out by the fact there all intentionally pieces of shit who would rather run away to some desolate island full of weird food insects and risk dying than actually deal with there problems. There's also a burger who says "bunger!" Over and over so that already makes it worth putting up the gays and the they/them bullshit.
Originally, the allegory was alleged to be about depression, which I guess is close enough to be portable to trannyland. I bought it then, as I was doing battle with depression myself at the time. The troon stuff happened after my purchase, which was hella pissoff.Celeste has good music. But wasn't the trooning out thing retconned by the creator to curry favor?
I'm surprised no one has modded out the fag and nigger stuff, the black guy isn't black coded at all so you wouldn't have to change any dialogue and changing the skin color on a sprite sheet is easy as pie. Fag stuff could be very easily modded out too. It is funny that the black character is by far the most hated npc in the game by the community.I'll start with the most obvious one. Stardew Valley.
Based on the very thread here, I'll say Disco Elysium.
I went in originally expecting forced woke nonsense and extreme amounts of fart huffing but I left with a totally engrossing experience and charmed by many different characters, the soundtrack, and the atmosphere.
Goddamn shame we'll never have anything like again at this point.
[I don't know if I've ever seen a lucid explanation of what Disco Elysium is about, which is very simple. It's always these breathless wistful lamentations by people who wish they were capable of being moved by "OHRT" but clearly aren't.
Disco Elysium is a hopepunk work made by relatively intelligent people who still want to be leftist but know that it's over. Or perhaps Joever. The game's conceit is to suggest that all politics are silly and distracting and absurd and that if we could all just lo-fi crunchy hopepunk bodega in the moment our penises off none of this shit would just fuckin matter, you know?
Parts of it work quite well without any need for further scrutiny on my part. Nothing sinister beneath it. Just good. I think the game looks nice and distinct, handles seamlessly, I enjoy the way it handles like an isometric RPG with no combat focused on rich interactions with a small area and cast. It does a good job of creating a sense that you're really interacting with people. Especially the protagonist's partner.
What's intended to be the tone and primary takeaway of the game is a kind of stoic desperation, bravura in the face of grief over the poor prospects of the human condition. But what's really going on, and you can almost feel that *they know this too*, is that it's their vision which is specifically sick and dying. This game takes on a new kind of poignancy viewed as a kind of swansong of 21st century leftism. A last stand for the sake of dignity. Which is actually very thematically in line with the content of the game and its narrative. Morons say that it's tragic and ironic that a game about fighting late capitalism got destroyed by corpos, but that's not the story here. The story is that artfags with leftist sympathies wanted to make something that resonated with how they feel about the world, and decided that it had to be a story about hopelessness and despair because they believe in a failed dead-end. The game's intentions could be read as cynical, but because I like that one music track so much, I'm going to choose to pity these people.
Disco Elysium is where the top minds of leftism were at right before the ones who wanted to still be cool threw in the towel and started lifting thoughts straight from Moldbug and Costin.
There's your media literate reading of this game. And probably the only one that exists.
For communist themes, none that I've seen. I've not finished it yet. It's a very long game, I'm 50 hours in and I'm about 35% of the way through? It's hard to say because every time I think I've seen everything another layer opens up.I heard it also has faggotry, and some degree of communist themes or something like that.
And the female characters were ugly. I want to say there were girlbosses with side shaves, but I never played it.It was getting the woke label because everyone is bi and there's like, one or two rando nobody NPCs that allude to being gay.
One of my major gripes with woke is how it's killed some of the fun stuff. In the same way any modern day game with anthros gets condemned for being "furry", there's no option to hot female characters without being taken as a side in the culture war. And that's before we get into actual fetish bait like the hot lesbians like Fear Effect 2. I feel that kind of stuff is broad enough to be appreciated by everybody, but is also not really done these days.Like, I get it, some people want to have same-sex romances or play as a weird race or character. Having the option to do that might be a plus to other people and that's fine. As long the devs don't prioritize it over important mechanics, and the woke garbage is easy to ignore, or is inserted into the world in a believable way, it's possible for it to not worsen the experience.
I hear two conflicting versions.Based on the very thread here, I'll say Disco Elysium.
I would like to play BG3 if you could tone down the thirst of some of the characters.I never really felt that Baldur's Gate 3 was "woke" because it's actually a really good game
Yes (partially).Celeste has good music. But wasn't the trooning out thing retconned by the creator to curry favor?
From Wikipedia:1. The game is pro communist and allows you play a fash bashing commie.
2. The game is anti communist, and while you can do a commie playthrough, it makes it clear it's a failed ideology.
Which one (if any) is true I don't know.
Robert Kurvitz (born 8 October 1984) is an Estonian novelist, video game designer, and musician. He was the lead writer and designer of the 2019 video game Disco Elysium as a founding member of the ZA/UM cultural association and the eponymous video game development company that grew out of it.
Kurvitz has a green-gold bust of Russian revolutionary Vladimir Lenin on his writing desk, which he claimed formerly belonged to Estonian communist writer Juhan Smuul.
People have, the mod just got removed from mod sites because they can't have anything that's actually fun. Iirc the based stuff is on /vg/?I'm surprised no one has modded out the fag and nigger stuff, the black guy isn't black coded at all so you wouldn't have to change any dialogue and changing the skin color on a sprite sheet is easy as pie. Fag stuff could be very easily modded out too. It is funny that the black character is by far the most hated npc in the game by the community.
I feel act three is when the game gets a stick up its own ass and start sucking black cock with no sign of stopping.I never really felt that Baldur's Gate 3 was "woke" because it's actually a really good game
I never really felt that Baldur's Gate 3 was "woke" because it's actually a really good game
Yeah I think it's not so much woke as it is crowded by weirdos, hence said weirdos rallying around the druid/bearsex guy during the testing phase.
I liked Celeste even though the entire game is pretty much an allegory for trooning out. The only other overtly woke game I've played is Timespinner but that game was shit.
