That's not new for Konami. They actually updated the rosters for their Japanese baseball game for free. The most recent Yugioh game got free card updates as well. Lazy fucks like Yongyea and Jim Sterling would rather screech than promote alternatives.

With PES, being more consumer friendly is one of the few ways Konami can stand out. EA has purchased the licenses to so many of the big teams and leagues. A lot of normies have forgotten the console version even exists.
The big problem with many of these consumer advocate types is that they're just broadly against shit. If they hear of a case of overtime they just assume it's crunch and reeeee about it. They don't seem against crunch, they seem to be against the concept of overtime in general. I think it's because they don't know much about normal overtime practices and shit. With a lot of people that bitch about this shit they only seem to know how the game industry works, and of course that's largely from the horror stories, not really regular conditions, they don't actually work in it after all. Even other entertainment shit like movies and music they don't seem to know much about the inner working of at times. In my opinion having at least some understanding of other industries is important for criticizing game industry practices. Otherwise you have no perspective of what is and isn't normal, otherwise you get oversimplified takes like "overtime bad" instead of anything nuanced, reasonable, and potentially useful.

That point really annoys me, people never seem to realize that limits can actually be a good thing. If you have a perfectionist mindset about everything you'll never get anything done. Not to mention the fact having limits can actually breed creativity. For example Mario 64 was supposed to have way more levels, but they needed it for the N64's launch, so to work around the reduced amount of levels they added multiple stars to make up for it. Sure there's cases where you just need more time, but just as often if not more so the issue isn't time or cost, but with the actual vision. Sometimes the product you're making is flawed at the conceptual stage and no amount of time can fix it.

See Patreon for the sheer lack of productivity vs profit ratio for people who make kinky porn games, breeding season will be the reason why big publishers don't want to invest in adult games.

Also the crowing about the new online policy for Playstation isn't new at all. They just changed the warning to be more defined by saying "anyone in the room" can record all the stupid shit you say and snitch on you. This has existed since the PS3. But now 3,000 backstabbing trannies just realized they can snitch on people.

Third party software is no different and shit from there can be submitted to the same channels to get accounts banned across any and all gaming platforms.

It's like people thinking that snap chat can't be recorded.

wording it like the "playstation community team" will inevitable bring the banhammer out didn't help. there's a difference between a TOS excerpt and a repeated advisory.

Maybe I can finally watch GB GOTY again, her shrieking is what caused me to stop following them.

Also who leaves a job like that without having something else lined up?

maybe abby sees that gb is going to die after the sale.

maybe jeff told the buyers how toxic abby is and they pushed her out.

They just reeee in general if it involves actually having to do any actual work or produce anything with objective results. Do they know people get paid more for overtime? Do they know some people actually want overtime? Screeching idiots like Schreier don't seem to understand real work environments or care about them.

You know, they don't really give a flying fuck about CDPR work environment anyway, they just, along with their RetardEra friends, decided this was an evil corporation and they were just going to attack it with literally any kind of bullshit so long as they could destroy it, costing everyone there their jobs, the people they pretend to be caring about.

Jason Schreier is a piece of shit and absolutely nothing he says fails to be completely disingenuous.

dude, you know who was pro-Schreier in my country when the crunch news hit?
Ancoms and other leftist of course :story:

Clearly they should have just worked overtime and got everything done.

“A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.”
I'm sure you know who said this. He worked at the company that delayed the launch of the console you mentioned by a year so the games would be ready.

"Just delay the game" is simplistic, but it may be the right call more often than people think.

Or with Valve. They had such a free work environment you could choose who to work with and what to work on.
Games that started development were completely canceled some even had years in development.
Out of desperation comes invention. Have a time frame and try everything by keeping it.
But I guess since games can dish out 50gig of first day patch, that limit is now more a "just make sure it boots up".

Considering how the media industry sector works, it's highly likely that she already has a new position. Jason Schreier's "heartfelt" message when leaving Kotaku was completely overshadowed near days later upon the announcement of his new position at Bloomberg. These types talk, it's no secret. Had a whole hashtag about it remember? She'll do Twitch to tide over the transitional period, maybe set up a Patreon or ko.fi to gauge if she is a viable / marketable solo. Her call for jobs is for media optics too, present the idea that she is open. I give it until January before she ends up at another site. My bet? She'll be hired by Alloy Digital and placed within one of its subsidiaries.

Many outright think Giant Bomb is on it's death knell. However it's not so much a matter of when it will officially be declared dead, but how long will the husk remain animated? It's no secret that many pine for the old days. This buyout? Not happening. No, Abby never had loyalty to the website or team, unlike say Jeff. Her leaving isn't going to ripple the brand apart or create further divide with fans. Logistically we need to see if anyone else happens to leave come the end of November.

Their end game is "unionization" where former game journos act as gatekeepers/union leaders and bully developers into doing what they want.

If that ever fucking happens it will kill the medium. Circlejerks are the antitheses of productivity. Unions are presented and taught as a way for the untalented/ignorant but politically devout to get a head up and control the productive and talented people.

These people's views on capitalism don't come from experience, they come from movie bob imagined powertrips of what they would do if they were the boss.
