:/ Man...they all behave like 14 year olds (No offence to my 14-year old cousin, who's actually a really cool kid and likes comic books). I can't help but if another dev replied like this, they'd be getting calle dout for their "lack of professionalism". Although honestly? After this whole Zoe-debacle, the different levels of "professionalism" are clearly apparent. It seems like a lot of the people who want to be taken as "serious game journalists grrr >: I " are actually just a bunch of unprofessional hipsters.

Not to get out of topic, but yes, I'm sure the tauren still remmembers. When I dabled with WoW, I was a MMO rookie. I was a tauren druid, and one time while in Ashenvale I managed to aggro an entire furbolg village after me. I had already gotten my face murdered multiple times doing this quest, and it looked like I had earned another grusome death. Then, out of nowhere, this manly night elf rode in on his magestic white tiger. He slaughtered all the furbolgs and kept me safe during the quest. He then bowed, got on his tiger, and left. It was such a nice thing to happen, usually you just hear about how "asshole gamers" harrass each other during these types of games. Anyway, back to Zoe...

It's not like she won't have friends in the event, she'll be surrounded by gamedevs and other people that are her close friends and will keep her safe. I hope that the info about her staging an attack is fake though.... I don't even know what would happen, except that everyone(the press) would believe her and not question her story.

If she did do this then it would definitely be an idiotic step too far. How long before the police are contacted by real journalists? PAX might call in the police themselves. Police would look for actual evidence like security footage etc. People might believe her for a day or so but not when actual investigation work is done.
 
I have to eat crow, again. I keep getting periods where I don't hear much new information on this and start to think it is blowing over. But no. I am amazingly wrong. If anyone else is like me and has really only been following this somewhat casually I do recommend the latest InternetAristocrat video to see how far this all come from Zoe herself. I don't mean she isn't an issue, but the amount of information that has come out on games journalists is staggering.

The rumor about changing "gamer" to "player" or some shit is too retarded for words.

Also, what sites are people going to for gaming news lately? I never went to Kotaku (Because it's Gawker Media) but at the moment I have cut back to going to The Escapist just to see Jim Sterling and Zero Punctuation and I really have only been following GamesIndustry.biz for the time being.

So they think Valve would agree to punishing their incredibly large userbase for death threats given?

Why the actual fuck are all gamers placed with this burden? Having to bear the cross of sexism and be crucified for the sake of a few neckbearded MRAs? Why do people think this makes sense? Like if you play Tetris or Minecraft or CoD or etc. it makes you a bad person? Should they all stop playing? Should gamers and subsequently games disappear? Then Kotaku couldn't exist, then Tropes Vs. Women couldn't exist. I'm genuinely confused.

It's the kind of thing you both laugh at and keep a gun within range of at all times; the hilarity and absurdity of this list nonwithstanding; we MUST get these people out of this industry. This is what they want to turn it into.
 
True, I was just trying to show my perspective on the situation. There are all these game "journalists" tied up together with their own piss and shit rolling over the game community, spreading their plague.

He might be an SWJ, he might not. But when somebody says that you're a blogger, when you're trying to make a living by passing as a "journalist", well, I can see why he would call Zoe out on that.
 
Good, I hope things get cleared up and consequences come to the people involved before any more damage can be done.
Another reason why Zoe's actions were horribly shitty: setting the idea that women can just bed you for good reviews can quickly turn even uglier.
"So you're saying you'll have sex with me if I give you good press?" can quickly turn to "Have sex with me or I'll give you enough bad press to ruin your career"
She's very possibly opened a way for future female developers to be sexually exploited by pathetic, sleezy "journalists". All for her own gain. That's why I don't even get why sjws and feminists rush to her defense when she's actively trying to make things worse for other women (see:tfyc) for more money.

Sorry, hopefully didn't go too overboard there but this whole mess is rattling me in so many different ways.
