I might not be the best judge as I'm not the most active member of the community, but this thread is the first I heard of this whole debacle. I'm fairly certain that the theory that we, as a forum, orchestrated meddling in this affair (especially considering most of us seem to detest her actions) is something akin to ParkourDude's hater hitlist: illogical, schizophrenic rambling, all trying to oversimplify why the wizards face problems (that is to say, it must all come from one source, one grand conspirator, which must be us.)

That being said, after reading more about the incident, I think this is just the final nail in the coffin for gaming journalism. It was a joke before, now it's easy to dismiss it as pure fiction.
 
We had nothing to do with it. It seems to just be Wizardchan playing the blame game using a throwaway post from 2013. Even if someone from the forum did have something to do with this mess, it would just be one person and in no way would it be an organized trolling.

If it was revealed that a male developer was paying/sending gifts to reviewers for good reviews on a game I don't think the gaming community would react any differently. I'm sorry but this is about gender because Quinn made it about gender, and I'm sure she wasn't crying about the trials about being a woman when a reviewer said, "Wow your game is fantastic, I bet we can get it on Steam! You're gonna be the best dev the indie community has ever seen, and the prettiest by far!"

Women in the gaming community want to be taken seriously. Shit like this isn't helping. She's the reason I need feminism, you know, being treated equal and such.

As I said in chat, her game is a CYOA text based, I can get that from a book. It's not a video game, she's never gonna be a respected developer, she can go suck a dick OH WAIT!

The big mystery is how she heard about the Wizardchan post, right? Most of them seem to think now that she made the post herself, but if she didn't... I don't know this woman but from what I read at her exboyfriend's agony column, I bet a billion dollars she's enough of an attention whore to google herself daily.

Wizardchan is slow enough that many of the posts are archived and still up several days later (unlike /r9k/ or /v/ or /b/).

If she didn't make the post herself, I have no doubt she came across it while egosurfing. A third person (or forum) mediating it is totally not necessary, and yeah our Wizard pals just threw that in there for the hell of it.

I'm actually happy that this entire mess happened. I know people have been saying that game reviewing entities such as Kotaku are being paid off for years, but this gigantic blunder made it pain stakingly obvious that this is indeed the case. There can't be any denying it after Depression Quest got bad review after bad review on its Steam page, completely cementing the idea that these websites are run by worthless shills who take vagina as payment.

As much as I hate to agree with almost any 4chan board, /v/ has been talking about bribes in the video game media so long that they've made music videos about them. I also hate the new trend of paying Let's Players to feature your game without them at least declaring it's a paid promotion.

The people who stand by Zoe and the people who have leaked her nudes doxxed her/are flaming against her are equally as bad.

This is because giving her any attention is proof that video game journalism isn't about video games. It's about the political and personal nature of certain people who make video games.

Her boyfriend giving her so many chances is as bad as him leaking all of their personal bullshit.

I don't give a shit about SJW or anti-SJW values or if you're a good person or an asshole. But being such a hypocrite is what gets at me. And then having people standing up for you.

This entire thing is so immature. Gaming journalism is so immature. What's the point of trying to make anything high-quality what sells is being the best retard you can be? Makes me just want to give up flat.
