I don't think the Wizards are the central reason this happened. Not really. Whatever misogyny they'd present is vastly eclipsed by their own crippling social anxiety, so they have no vested interest in skirmishing with anyone, let alone someone like Quinn, and analytically-speaking, that the CWCki, barring a few users who know exactly who they are, have any interest in worsening a burgeoning shitstorm that by all accounts, is more tragic than funny.

Which begs the question of who's responsible here. And whilst much of the blame can be dumped at the feet of various parties involved, I'm going to propose my own little theory on this one. This may be the grumpy rumblings of an oldfag here, but I'm gonna say that this reeks of setup. I'm entirely sure that this whole nonsense was setup by a third party (who is now doubtlessly patting themselves on the back/jerking off), who had a vested interest in getting this entire train-wreck rolling purely for their own amusement, analogous to how /pol/ managed to provoke the infamous tumblr raid a month or two ago and managed to consequentially become the single most hated board on 4chan.

Someone's trying to play all involved here, is what I'm getting at. All evidence currently points at Quinn herself.

Now that this information has come out, wizardchan is pretty pissed. They also want to know where she even found out about them.

See this I don't really have a problem with this part. It's stupid and I don't see how this gets you good publicity but whatever. If anything I find Wizardchan's "SHE INSULTED US! IT'S A CONSPIRACY WITH FORUMS!!!!" a bit of an overreaction.

The sleeping with someone for good press is questionable but even then I doubt it's the first nor last time it has happened in journalism let alone games journalism. I'm sure it happens more often than we know she was just stupid enough to get caught.

First, I want to say that Depression Quest is an ok CYOA novel. Not really remarkable, but ok. It brought a good message of depression awareness, at the very least.

But this Zoe Quinn is a complete twat. Reading the imgur link, it got everything right...

Except the ''fact'' that we were the ones that told Zoe about the wizards ''harassing'' her. Can somebody shed some light into this? What side did the forums take when this whole drama started? Beacause even if we were supportive of Quinn before, it doesn't mean we started the whole thing. And if it WAS a CWCki Forums user that told Zoe about it, it would be just one person who shared the sentiment enough to talk to Quinn, not the whole forums' opinion. To the person that made that Imgur thing, get your facts straight. Because it seems that you simply put the forums to blame because we criticize wizards.

the only really reasonable response to this situation I've been able to find so far. it seems everything involved with this case is sort of emotionally charged, so its nice seeing TB saying "this shit is crazy and im not touching it"

In addition to this, videos supposedly critical of these actions have been taken down from Youtube with copyright claims, including a video by a smaller channel called MundaneMatt. It's difficult to tell what is true and what is not.

b. it was taken down for a copyright claim, despite probably just being some dork ranting on a soapbox
c. it was taken down by Zoe Quinn.

He's saying someone could be impersonating her. Pretty easy to ask "MundaneMatt" (stupidest fucking name ever, Christ you gamer people suck) and/or Zoe about that, isn't it? I don't know that President Obama wasn't replaced by a replicant created by the Lizard People to herd us into ovens disguised as FEMA camps, should I hedge everything I say about him (or "him") because of that?

Considering how the Imgur and Wizardchan links in the first post of this thread mentions the forum, it would be likely that the Cwckiforums is a scapegoat Wizardchan wants to use. Not only would they want to lessen the attention on themselves, they'd also want this forum to gain more attention as a terrible place or something along those lines.

Maybe I'm shallow but the ex-boyfriend's site is the best part of this. I've actually dated a person who was borderline before. It started when we fucked within an hour of meeting each other and ended in some skeezy hotel in Puerto Rico with me wondering wtf had just happened.
