Some very interesting news coming up from our friends over at H8chan:

He also said that companies are looking at Gamasutra's slandering of Intel's brand and taking it very seriously and it's not going to just have consequences for Gamasutra but also the industry as a whole. He said within the coming weeks and months companies are going to be pulling out of the industry as quietly as possible and the ones that stay are going to be giving lower rates. He also said many have likely already pulled out without drawing any attention. Since the entire business model of the industry is built on revenue from advertisers they're pretty much fucked. Even sites in the industry that weren't associated with GG in anyway are going to have losses and the ones that were associated with it are going to have significant losses possibly even go out of business.

All this is happening because the industry was considered "safe" and that companies buying ad space didn't not expect things like partisan shitflinging and insulting the consumers to come out of them. It would be different if the industry wasn't considered safe and companies knew that they were signing up for with this kind of thing like perezhilton.

He also said that this is one of the worst cases of poorly handled PR that he has ever seen. That it could have been squashed in the very beginning by releasing public apologies. And this breakout of GG into the mainstream is not going to help one bit in fact it's going to hurt the industry even more.

GG is going to win but it's not going to be overnight. It'll take months. AntiGG can't beat weaponized autism.

This would follow what we've been hearing so far - that we're punching them right in the wallet. Gawker is pulling a Clear Channel response to Flush Rush right now - they're in full-bore damage-control mode. They weren't expecting to lose Mercedes-Benz, and recent reports suggest Gawker is in real danger of losing EA.

If I were a gamer, I'd buy/play Bayonetta out of spite as well.

That said I do find the character design extremely attractive, but since I'm female am I still an opressive shitlord?

Seriously though, isn't the idea that women can't choose to be sexy of their own accord and only do so because of the dang dirty patriarchy a bit, um, misogynistic?

GamerGate took a black eye this week???
 
Maybe Gawker losing advertisers is a black eye for Gamergate, in which case I hope it takes many, many more black eyes.

So let's do a tally here - this week:
* Gawker lost one of its biggest sponsors
* Anti-GG lost thousands of parents, teachers, and transportation officials when a member of its staff in their infinite wisdom sponsored bullying
* LW3 attacked a fucking Fruit distributor because she couldn't be arsed to do a ten-second Google search to make sure you had the right twitter
* Said fruit distributor now supports Gamergate and is trying to help kickstart a game for charity
* Anita Sarkeesian's threatener was found out to be a Brazilian asshole with no ties to GG
* Multiple non-GG individuals punched gaping holes in anti-GG "harassement" campaigns
* The Guardian was revealed to have been openly biased in its reporting

Yeah, I'm willing to bet it's going to be a bad time for a lot of jerks. I'm staring at the fucking twitters of two of them right now. The black eyes you gave were to yourselves. Keep doing that, please. It'll work out so well for you.
