I think what's gonna piss Chris off more than anything is all his stuff being junked, more so than loosing the property itself.
He'll be mad for the latter, sure, now that he won't be able to freeload effortlessly until he gracelessly expires, but his life's work, all curated and archived, rotting away in a garbage tip?
That's going to break him.
If we were talking past Chris, maybe.

But he's definitely going to be madder about the house than his pile of crap being lost. He will always want to buy more toys and dumb shit with the tugboat so the hoard will never truly go away so long as he's alive. The loss of 14BC, the place he's lived for almost his entire life, is something he can NOT replace and is something he didn't choose to lose access to (unlike stuff like the Ammyfest Ring, Sonichu totem, etc. that he sold for money).

didn't chris shit his bed once cuz clyde cash threatened (albeit an obvious empty threat) to kill him

Yes, but it was a fake Clyde Cash going for low hanging weenery.

Chris only shits himself on days ending in 'y'.

For the last time it's a regular mortage, not a reverse one.

This.

That said, the Chandlers are the sort of financhu wizzerds who would try to take out a reverse mortgage to make payments on a regular mortgage. They wouldn't succeed (the banks are smarter than that), but they'd try.

Chris will be pissed he's no longer allowed at 14BLC, but I think actual ownership of the property is a little too abstract a concept. He'll just know that mean people are keeping him from the house he's always lived in.

He'll be more upset about losing his toys. He can always draw another Sonichu #1 or make another medallion, but some lego can be hard to come by.

So how long do you reckon it will be for Chris to try and break in?

If Chris is disallowed to enter and/or they sell and clear the house before he can return. We'll lose much Christory. Luckily we have photocopies of most of his works. I wonder how he'll react. Maybe then he'll finally reboot the series.

Chris doesn't believe in reboots, but he doesn't mind making retcons that border on reboots.

I don't know how he's a Transformers fan. That's been rebooted almost as much as capeshit.

Chris shares the more recent capeshit rationalization of reboots as alternate dimensions, but all part of one continuity.

It depends on how he's released from Jail.

If the courts run out the clock and then cut him loose, he'll go directly to 14BLC. If he gets sent to a tard home, then who knows?

Oh, and he won't try to break in. He'll try the front door, and when that doesn't work for him, he'll pitch a fit in the front yard until the police show up.

non-american fag here, if you own a house do you still have payments to make on it? excluding like “state tax”

like how much would Chan need if the shit heap is owned?
See, the trick is, nobody actually owns houses there, it's a meme. Mortgages are ludicrous - how old is the current one, if only half was paid so far? The taxes, even more so.

etc. that he sold for money
I take back what I said, I think you're on the money here.
There's pretty much nothing he wouldn't sell if offered enough money, so perhaps I'm putting too much weight on his attachment to his shit.
He can always draw another Sonichu #1
Possibly, but hasn't he rallied against the thought of a reboot for some autistic reason?
I think he's said that a reboot would essentially kill everyone in CWCville, I wonder if he thinks a simple redraw would cause the same effect?
Or if he'd intentionally avoid ever redrawing it to prevent CWCville from being reset?

I bet Chris will try and stage a protest and then get mad when all his asspatting weens don’t show.
Can't he just willingly leave a program like that?
Probably yes him being an adult but they’d likely be consequences, it might be that officials do their best for Chris but no more than they’re legally obligated to and if Chris chooses to leave then he’s on his own.

I mean he could always redraw it to the best of his memory, making as few changes as possible (which would mean a lot of changes). So to him it wouldn't be a reboot, but a re-creation.

Except he wouldn't actually do that, because he's lazy and the actual paper comics really aren't worth the effort to him any more. It's enough to him to know he could remake them, while he can't make new lego. Some lego needs to be paid for.

Chris is ruled by his inability to be smart with money. He will always want more. As such, you offer him a large amount of money (a grand being the magic number ever since the watch and win sweepstakes) and he'll always take the money because that means he's able to buy more shit immediately.

As for reboots, he's been against them for the same reason he was against killing Simonla - he thinks these are living, breathing entities in the oft-cited 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' kind of way. To do anything to change their state of being, death or effectively erasing their histories, would be to destroy actual sentient beings.

At this point in time, however, Chris isn't interested in making the comic because what the comic always was has graduated into his full on god complex. The comic started as his "original IP" bullshit he wanted to push into making a full video game or whatever with zero understanding of the industry. But it turned into his escapist effigy that gave him the power he couldn't have in the real world. Ever since he stopped making the comic, the "world" of CWCville has continued in his head because it was only ever meant for an audience of one: himself.

I know aunt Harriet is a retarded boomer, but surely she could figure out with a simple Google search that people are actually willing to pay decent money for a lot of Chris' garbage. Even if the family wants to completely rid themselves of his memory, the proceeds from some of the higher value items could help cover Barb's expenses.

Selling stuff on eBay might be more work than Harriet is willing or even able to do. Sort through the shit, separate out shit that might sell, photograph the shit, and make a listing for each piece (of shit). She’s got no idea. Maybe a younger family member could tackle it.

There‘s also potential legal repercussions if they’re selling things that clearly belong to Chris?

And eBay leaves a clear trail of what was sold and how much for.

If I had the money Id buy the house and turn it into a Museum of Ruckersvilles most famous resident. Id preserve the artifacts of fail, the hoard, even Barb through taxidermy and animatronics. It would be the complete experience, like you really lived there.

Which is why if his original is gone. It might push him over the edge to reboot it. Since technically to Chris' mind they don't exist because they aren't present. Not to mention it's apart of his identity.

If they sell the house they could get a realtor or the bank to do an open auction on anything considered of value left behind by the previous residents. I know some contracts have a clause of possesions left after X amount of days of vacancy. Could also have the new residents do the same on their own or do a yard sale.

I remember when Chris and Babs were living in the rental while they were waiting for 14BC to be repaired from the fire, there were several photos and videos that Chris had posted where you could see how filthy and disgusting the floors had become. There were all manner of stains, food crumbs, insects, and even rodent feces deep down in the carpet fibers. It didn't take long for the carpets to get to an unreasonably dirty state, and they just got worse and worse while the Chandlers lived there.

I can only imagine the atrocious condition that 14BC has become today. We already know about the hoarding, the pets pissing and shitting wherever they want, and even Chris using the floor as a toilet. Imagine all the horrible things that we AREN'T aware of. When the bank takes full legal ownership after the foreclosure, if they decide to refurbish the house instead of razing it and starting over, a lot of work will need to be done. The house will likely need to be completely gutted to the frame. The actual floorboards and at least the lower 1/3 of the sheet rock on the walls will need to be replaced due to animal and human waste (and possibly fluids from rotting garbage) soaking through the carpets and pads down to the wood. All the carpets and other floor surfaces will need to be replaced. Vermin will need to be exterminated and cleaned out. Any offensive odors that have seeped into the structure itself will need to be dealt with. The deck might need to be repaired or replaced, depending on its structural state. All the outbuildings like the Dreaming Studio, the gazebo, and the dog house will be demolished and removed. The lawns and gardens might get ripped out so new landscaping can be done, especially if there is a sprinkler system installed that is damaged. And there could be even more work required that I haven't thought of. It'll be a lot of work and very expensive. And that's assuming the contamination and damage isn't to the point where it would actually be more cost effective to demolish the house and start all over fresh.
Good to hear this from a person who knows their shit!!!

The housing market is shit right now and since the pandemic, a lot of people are moving from the larger cities to quieter areas that have a lower cost of living. Ruckersville, minus Chris, is a very quiet community that is perfect for empty nesters and families looking for a simple place to raise their kids.

I have seen hoarding houses that have been flipped into lovely homes and this house does have potential. The Chandlers ruined it along with the land its on but someone willing to put in the time and money (since it was practically rebuild under a decade ago and could be salvaged) could make it into a nice place.
