This puts the UK into a weird position. If Le Pen wins, then it means that Brexit works out as a very conveniently timed survival strategy. This will be bolstered by a conservative win in the UK (loath as I am to admit it). If, however Macron and labour win, then it looks like the EU will continue to wheeze and crawl on in its current form, with no possibility of serious reform any time soon. I don't really see preservation of the status quo as being all that advantageous to the EU as it stands, since it desperately needs rebuilding into something much sleeker and more responsive than it has been for years.

Jesus fuck those ingrown teeth. The only other person I've seen with incisors like this is Nick Bate.

Macron supports a hard Brexit with total exclusion from the european market until they pay rights for access to it (like Norway or Switzerland). All part of his strategy for an economically strong EU with Germany at the helm and France as the co-pilot, which is why a good chunk of his program involves EU-related measures. However, the way he presents it implies (very heavy empashis on this word) he is OK with being number 2 in the EU, but not with being Merkel's yes-man.

I have low hopes of seeing this happen, but if somehow Macron manages to say "No" to Germany even once, he will have done more than Hollande.

Frogs are hilarious and literally nobody cares about who they choose as their cuck. We'll fuck the shit out of them no matter who they choose.

Some 'muricans sympathize with the army of butthurt Melenchon supporters.

Apparently Melenchon is the french Bernie Sanders now.

I'll be looking forward to seeing how a 79 year old does on the campaign trail.

Several US "celebrities" (notably Pamela Anderson, Mark Ruffalo and Danny Glover) backed him, so yeah. Merluche is our Bernie.

He won't since he himself admitted he is getting too old for this shit.

God I can't wait for the salt when Britain's Bernie (Comrade Corbachev) gets molested in June.

Macron is likely to win but his plans for actually doing anything will come to very little.

Same with a LePen victory, sadly.

Mostly because the National Assembly will be dominated by the regular parties with the presidency held by complete no-hopers for any kind of reform or domestic agenda they can actually influence.

Even LePen hasn't gone so far as to call for Frexit, she's called for a return to the Franc and a withdrawal from Shengen (Something existing members can do) but no further, she doesn't have the power to call for a membership referendum and only one guy was (and he's gone).

France is about to enter a state of zombie government regardless of Macron of LePen winning. Possibly worse than President Floppy.

Macron's pipedream economics of trying to poach British Business and Banks won't work (French regulations are as bad as everywhere else on the continent) and would need approval from an Assembly he won't control, or have both right wing and socialists to prop him up.

I can oh so see the Socialist agreeing to bring in big banks at the tax level necessary to make Paris more attractive. Meaning he will fail to raise the tax base which France needs to do, badly.

LePen meanwhile, would bankrupt France in six months with "more tax spending" and other Gaulic economic nonsense which might finally tip the eurozone over the edge permanently.

Either way, Britannia wins and that's all that I am concerned about.

Yeah, I already pointed before that Macron is very unlikely to manage to make the left and right work together. It somewhat worked in the mid-90s with Chirac (RPR (ancestor of the Republicans) president) and Jospin (socialist prime minister), but today, it will be hard unless he very carefully cherry-picks his ministers. Something he lacks the experience and political acumen for.

A miracle is still possible where his supports ditch their former party and join En Marche, but Hell will froze over before it happens.

The Socialists tried timidely to act like the Democrats and failed because they tiptoed and had no idea what they were doing. Macron is a balls-to-the-wall liberal tho, so he won't take any gloves.

Le Pen want to circumvent the Parliament by allowing citizen-organized referundums (at least for the Frexit and the re-establishment of the death penalty), which is not a bad idea in itself but might be used to shift the blame of a bad policy on the people.

EDIT :

Then I wonder who the guy in the second comment was referring to when he mentioned "other options". Is Clinton going to rise again ?

My bad, I thought @Huitzilopochtli was referring to Merluche.

Man, and here I thought babbies comparing Trump to Harry Potter was just an american issue...Nah, seems it's just an autistic thing of the radleft.

What do they see in those books that gave it that much of an impact on their world view? Like most of the people I see make these comparisons are even older than me.

Good vs Evil shit mostly at a guess.

Probably why they hated Fantastic Beasts so much, that introduced some moral greyness.

It's an extremely simple black and white morality tale where the good guys are always good and the bad guys are always bad. There are no surprises, subtle nuances, or complex themes so it appeals to the intellectually stunted. That and Harry is somewhat of a Gary Stu who can do no wrong so that always attracts the arrogant tards like flies on shit.

Let the memes commence, gentlemen. It's gonna be a hard battle... Probably Normandy 2.0... So in the immortal words of Bruce Jenner: "Buckle up, buckaroos. Shit's about to get interesting."
