The onboard highlight reel is out and there are a couple of really cool moments.
Check out this, for instance:
Not only is it a pleasure to watch these two young drivers go toe to toe, but listen carefully for the engine sounds. You can tell by the revving how the engine is put under much more strain when Leclerc leaves the slipstream. Same with Gasly tucking in behind Leclerc, his engine suddenly revs a lot higher, it's pretty sweet.
And there are so many amazing scenes in that video. Some nice driving from all across the grid, it's really worth a watch.
So Wolff is still busy blaming some mystical forces for Hamilton's mistakes and crap performances.
Meanwhile Bottas gets flack for his pit crew destroying the wheel nut on his car because he was 2 cm off the centreline.
No wonder Hamilton is so up his own ass, I wish I could fuck up that badly at work and have my manager make up excuses for me.
Oh for fuck's sake Wolff, admit that your precious Abloolew has made a mistake for once. He might not have misjudged the braking point (though I still think he did, it was just amplified by the magic button bullshit), but he still pushed a button that he should not have pushed and has so far never pushed without intending to do so. Perez baited him into a mistaken, and whether that was pusing a wrong button, misjudding the braking point or a mix of both is besides the point. Hamilton made some cool statement about marathons and then faltered under the pressure.
Is he such a frail little flower the the slightest mistake will make his confidence spiral into oblivion? If so, that would be pretty shameful for such a supposedly successful and skilled driver.
He'll be back on the front row on the very next race, in the Merc it's so easy, Raghunathan might be able to do it... and if he can't do it of his own accord, Toto will gladly throw Bottas under the bus once again.
But frankly, if this spell of failure lasts for yet another race or two, I could see Hamilton completely falling apart.
Funny how all his statements about being so sorry and accepting whatever punishment the FIA gave him have melted away isn't it.
It was just a show to pretend he was super sowwy, so the mean FIA might go easy on him or go "oh well, he's abandoned racing, so we don't have to punish him really..." just so he can make a comeback.
Dude needs to be banned for life and if that doesn't hold up, he should have a really, really unfortunate accident where he stumbles and repeatedly bashes his face into someone's tyre iron. It'll be the craziest thing and all the guys around the paddock will swear it's the exact turn of events, too.
