Alonso literally butthurt.

And Sargeant asked to retire due to the strain. Fucking tracks in desert shitholes.

Well that's the end of the excitement for the McLaren battle. About the only excitement left to be had in the race.

The podium trio's behavior in the Cooldown Room says it all, they were all pretty much dead after the race.

Can't they organize these races to take place in lower temperatures? I don't know the logistics but Lusail could be the opening race of the season for instance.

They said it's six weeks later next year.Haven't looked at the schedule but that'd allow twinning with Abu Dhabi and prevent a flyaway for the trucks. That's how you reduce carbon, y'dinks.

Damn you can really tell Lewis has realized the sun is setting on his career. What a bonehead move. All risk no reward. Where did he even plan on going? Into max? To the pits with shredded tyres in 5 laps?

Great weekend for the fans of mental illness regardless. Not only is it crazy to crucify George Russell for whats clearly a bonehead move from Lewis. Watching these folk go from jerking Lando off to villifying him in a matter of years. Truly impressive. Same story with GR. As long as both of those dudes were behind Lewis, God save the queen or whatever the fuck, now though, just salt. Not surprising but as always interesting to watch unfold on Twitter. This weekend been a goldmine for that shit. What's great though is george didn't spend the whole race on radio bitching. He puts his head down and continued on and pulled an impressive result out of it. Good for him. Especially since it makes them folks seethe.

Perez is a fucking joke. If it wasnt for that one meme win in 2020 he'd have retired by now. Redbull gave the dude a career worth reflecting on statistically and somehow he manages to fuck it up entirely 2 years later. Even funnier to me is people who believe Riccardo will do any better. I just don't see it, even before the crash, why do people think he'll do any better. Is it just dts brain? He drove the sim well? Idk but redbull ain't fielding either in 2024 at least that's what I feel.

Piastri the real deal, maybe. Good to see. But wanna see more. Don't feel bad for Lando in the slightest. Why would you. Still early to tell but feels like he could certainly be one of the few who could challenge max on a regular basis if the the car continues to improve into 2024.

Sargeant... just give up my man. How you gonna complete singapore but dnf with heatstroke here? Dude ain't built for this. Just embarrassing at this point.

Its so easy to suck off max but at this point how could you not? He's so consistent not just in pace but he does not make a mistake. And the few times he has its just strengthened his race seemingly. You can't count on 1 hand the amount of mistakes he's made this year. When you go down the grid the incidents start to add up. Every driving even mentioned in the same class as him are routinely involved in Silly mistakes. It's obviously easier when you racing on your own but those dudes bin it every other session unforced. Even when he's in traffic or has a bad start he's somehow comes out unscathed everytime. It's been impressive to watch as boring as it is. Regardless of how good that car is you can't help but be in awe. He genuinely a racing machine.

As fucked as a maximum lap limit sounded. It made for some okay racing. Still such a farce but no one's ever gonna be happy about Qatar anyway so who the fuck really cares anyways. Don't think it would have changed the results much. And as gay as it sounds if saftey is priority it's the right call i guess, idk I don't really care.

I recall a Grand Prix (I believe it was in Turkey), early in Lewis's career where he was able to round a bend and have his car positioned within an inch of a concrete wall. Those days are over and I would say that it is more down to a combination of entitlement and a loss of composure than it is a cooling off in his ability. That move was optimism and bad judgement from the get go. He then doubled-down by crossing the track, potentially placing himself in the path of Russell for second time, for which he has been fined £21,000 - his weekly sock budget.

There was also a failure to look at the bigger picture: Given Perez's poor form of late, Hamilton could easily clinch second in the Drivers Championship. Second in the Constructors Championship is Mercedes' to lose.

Other than that a boring race, hobbled by Pirelli and whoever was responsible for resurfacing the track. This is Qatar, so I trust those responsible have been beheaded.

Sargeant... just give up my man.
Dunno I think there were some serious issues with this race. Albon needed to be helped out of his car, Ocon had actually been sick a couple of times, Stoll had to be taken to the medical center from passing out following the race, and several drivers said they had times they fell like they were passing out during the race. No part of that was safe and especially hard on driver's health.

The FIA will say its too dangerous when a rain drop falls within 3 miles of the track but then this is allowed to go ahead.

Not to mention Piastri laid out in the cooldown room. Yeah, I looked it up it was 90 (32C) or more there. No sun, but still, those cars aren't made for that heat.

It's not just the air temperature. I've done many construction projects in the region. The humidity is extremely bad and the air quality is on par some of the worse parts of China.

It's insane to have sporting events outdoors there.

Stroll and Leclerc both mentioned blacking out in the high speed corners, Alonso has burns through his suit, and all the drivers are saying its worse than Singapore in interviews, with Bottas saying it was 'torture'. Also Rosberg claims that Pirelli warned the FIA that this track would suffer problems with the tyres- how many more years on the Lusail contract?

edit: if the blacking out is true and the reason for all the track limit infringements (Jack Doohan claiming the lack of radio messages is due to "lapses in cognition from severe dehydration") that is insane and incredibly dangerous. As Coccxys said, it's bullshit the FIA cowers in fear at the slightest sniff of rain but was okay with this

You know it's hot when Australians struggle with the heat.
Or Floridians in the case of Sergeant.

9, it was a 10 year contract 2023-2032. An extremely long contract by F1 standards. It was the price they paid for being able to use the circuit during the pandemic when the Qatari's knew they held all the cards (plus were fresh off bribing FIFA and the FOM wanted in).

That's even worse. At least the humid parts of Australia are nowhere nearly as hot as the dry parts, whereas with Florida you have both. I can't shit on Sergeant too hard for retiring from the race.

Albon struggling to get out

Stroll stumbling over to the ambulance

Sergeant being helped away from the car

All three were assessed at the medical center as suffering heatstroke and requiring treatment.

I think we found (and passed) the limit for heat now. It could have been so so much worse and actually good on sergeant for holding his hand up and saying he can't carry on rather than trying to push through it and possibly causing/having a huge incident.

Fun fact. When working in the middle east, you have the standard heat stress signs. But during Ramadan, they get removed and replaced with ones that tell you to not break the fast and to lay under a palm tree.
