Bottas to retire; Albon to get multi-year contract with Sauber
Don't forget Sauber basically won't exist from 26, they'll be Audi. Unlike Alfa who just title sponsor them Audi are buying the majority stake (and possibly up to total ownership) to make it happen.

I'm still hoping the rumor about them, Vettel, and a dump truck of money are accurate.

I just hope that all cars are safely off the circuit before that dump truck starts backing up.

Yeah, which is why I referred to them as Sauber, because that's what they are next year.

As for Albon (who I clocked as possibly heading over there in '25), there doesn't seem to be any room for him to return the RB mothership, so he may have to cut himself loose in the next couple of years and accept the fact that he'll be a mid-pack driver in a mid-pack team for the rest of his career.

The Audi takeover raises an interesting point... a newly-established (or newly taken over) factory team isn't always going to guarantee success. For every AM (who is doing very well considering they have a nepo hire dragging the team down), there's at least one Alpine or Toyota.

I wonder if there are drivers out there who'd take the gamble. TBH I can see either Leclerc or Sainz getting sick of Ferrari's bullshit and taking a punt on Audi, just because Germans are the antithesis of Italians as far as organizational skills go.

What is the rumor about Vettel, is He coming back on track? Would be nice if that so

It is voiced that Sainz will go to Sauber in 2025, considering also that His father confirmed it (Source), combine that with Ferrari that might be getting a new Sponsorship with Peroni (Italian beer brand) therefore dropping their contract with Estrella Galicia which is one of Sainz's Sponsors (Source) only makes the voices about Him leaving Ferrari closer to reality.
For the Leclerc Situation I'm not really aware of any big moves by Ferrari, I just know that Ferrari offered him a renewal offer of 5 years that would have Him secured for his first 2 years and in the final 3 with an exit clause, the total amount of money He could be paid is 185 Million Euros (Source), but when asked Him about this He joked on it saying that He would wish to have signed it but that They (referring to Ferrari, ed.) didn't have any discussions over it during the summer (Source), either They are still discussing over it or he's trying to go to another team.

Sargeant is staying for next year.
That surprises me.

When Sargeant has demonstrated glimmers of ability, he often wobbles. It looks to me more like genuine overreach than someone who is recalibrating the limits of their potential. He has his mercurial moments but none of it happens on a very stable footing.

I wonder how strongly Williams' decision rests on the sponsors that he brings with him, along with any other financial benefits reaped from American fan support. There's two big American races looming on the calendar. He may have a seat for next year but his financial backers are going to want to see some performance.

Tbf, it isn't confirmed that he's staying, the only thing Vowles said is that they want him in the team next year. Who knows, maybe its just a "ploy" by Williams so that he can perform without pressure, drive with a little more tranquility in the final stretch of the season. And then judge his performance after the season is over.

I gotta wonder how the Brazilians who are currently spamming/flooding the fuck out of Williams's social media for Drugovich reacted to this, lol.

I don't get why people believe that F2 means anything. Lots of people who've placed highly there have sucked as F1 drivers and the best driver on the grid skipped it entirely. The FIA's greed has allowed a lot of mediocre drivers in and kept a lot of good drivers out.

Also, I think rookies are really hurt by the lack of testing. If you've never driven a car before, it is really hard to be competitive with it, especially in less-than-perfect conditions. Sims can help, but it's also really difficult to build a sim for a car that's never been driven.

Yes, I do agree there should be more testing sessions. F1 should allow teams to freely test their cars whenever they want

Tbh, I think its just Brazilian fans desperate to see a Brazilian driver on the Grid again, I don't think they really care about their quality.

FINALLY...

Now just to get past FOM.

There's also an anime based on Japanese F4 airing now called Ôbâteiku!

Whatever political pressure they can exert to ensure all the teams say yes to this, will be expended. It's only correct to ensure all the teams realize how this is good for the sport in the long term.

I don't know why they don't just make Thursdays of a GP, a testing day.
Because that would mean admitting that its not the cars that are environmentally unfriendly, its F1's business model of shipping those cars to opposite sides of the globe every week.
Even if the environmental impact is ignored, there's simply not enough time to expand the typical F1 round to 4 days. I know I'm preaching to the converted here, but there are simply too many rounds these days.

F1 really needs a benevolent dictator like Bernie Ecclestone instead of a corporation run by a bunch of American hedge fund faggots, but I guess we'll never see another Bernie in our lifetime.
... and another thing. F1 could do with a couple more new teams. I realise the barrier to entry is extremely high, but I miss the old days when there were more teams than grid positions. By having exactly the same number of grid positions as teams/cars, it feels like the shit teams get a participation trophy for every round.

Motor racing is the only acceptable subject matter for anime IMHO. Not that I'd watch it as I'm at least 30 years too old for that shit, which saddens me a bit because I reckon I would've enjoyed Initial D when I was I kid.

Yeah, you can say a lot of shit about Bernie (and I do), but he tended to force decisions that were overall positive for F1 compared to the current fags trying to ruin it. I'd like to have seen the ecofags trying to implement their faggotry with him at the wheel, the shitshow would be very entertaining.
