I have to admit the Q2 result was charming: Piastri,Sainz,Leclerc,Norris,Stroll.

Also Hamilton doing "dangerous driving" against his teammate gives those Rosberg vibes back. but nothing will happen I am betting on it
 
Really getting fed up with the presenters, they said multiple times that Carlos Sainz was last years pole sitter in a multitude of ways, 1 min from the flag say Verstappen has a 5 place grid penalty for a new gearbox...

FUCKING PRIORITIES!!!!
 
And in the end Verstappen spanked the entire grid. Any bets how long it will take for him to get P1 in the race (if they start)?

Different spec cars, lewlew has the upgraded rear wing. Russell should be better at preserving tyres and stronger DRS though.

Of course hambone got no further action on the investigation, they got Russell in to say he knew exactly what hambone was doing and so it wasn't dangerous.

I dislike safety investigations being decided by the other driver saying "it was no big", it should be an objective "was this safe". From Russell's view and reaction to hambone it's clear he wasn't expecting it and it wasn't safe.

Now if it was Max who did something dangerous and Checo said it was no biggie, you bet your ass Max would have received a penalty.
 
It will be interesting to see how Alpine's "fuck it, fire everybody" strategy plays out. Alan Permane has been in that team since 1989 when it was Benaton so they just yeeted a lot of experience.

It was heavily rumoured Alpine Was one of the teams staring down the barrel of a cost cap breach so I wonder if the clearing house is their attempt to distance themselves from the old management before it is announced.

Either way it's looking more and more like that team will be the death of Gasly and Ocon's careers because this season has made them both look distinctly armature.

It's even more clown shoes if the rumoured hiring Dominicali as their new sporting director is true.
 
I wonder if Binottoreally comes to Alpine. He was a real genius in terms of factory management but as a team boss I think he lacked the decision power (though he was someone who knew the ins and outs of the business). Also the FIA has hinted at opening engine modifications should the deficit between the 4 manufacturers be too big. alpine has hinted their engine is 30 HP behind the rest. Mercedes might be doing a victory dance if the freeze is stopped for a short time
 
I can understand the hammer coming down in Alpine. I don't think it's just because of this season, they haven't won anything in forever, Red Bull dumped them and dominated with Honda, Danny Ric pumped and dumped them, Alonso and Oscar Pastry (who looks the real deal) gave them the finger... the list of embarassments goes on. Also, they have the worst engine on the grid, and it isn't even particularly reliable, which is a really ugly look for a company like Renault. Remember that they want to be competing with Ferrari and Mercedes, not customer teams.

Hard to blame people like Otmar for any of this, but I can understand the powers-that-be at Renault regularly saying "Qu'est-ce que the fuck are we doing here?". Will it help, probably not, there might come a point where they just want to pull the fuck out.
