Unless something crazy happens it's Vestappen, Alonso, or Ocon for the win. The last time the winner was not in the top 3 on the grid was 1996 for the ultimate attrition race.
Turns out you were spot on. Congrats to Alonso and Ocon on their podium positions.

Haas really deserves some shit for keeping K Mag out there on slicks for so long which contributed to his eventual retirement from the race. They clearly knew they needed to change tires since they changed Hulk's (how'd they not even try to serve that penalty), but they just kept him out there. Also, the commentators remain dogshit, didn't notice Stroll was out until much later.
Quite right. I have no idea what the hell they were doing today.

Also lol at Yuki. "Are you trying to make me crash?"

In the lists of numbers and statistics that crowd the record books, the apex of Alonso's career is a clouded peak in his side-view mirror. In the real world, where less tangible factors must be taken into consideration, 2023 is shaping up to be one of his best years in F1.
TBH I didn't pay that much attention to Alonso back in the day, but he's really grown on me over the past couple of years. I agree that whilst the stats might not say it, 2023 could be Alonso's best F1 season overall.

2023 looks like AM's best season so far, which can be backed up with stats. You can tell that Alonso's experience has been a positive influence on the entire team. It helps that he's one of a dying breed of driver who works closely with the engineers to give them useful feedback on how to improve the car.

The fact that so many drivers seem to be in their bubble away from the engineers either by choice (such as Hambone) or by circumstance (such as Lando and his sim racing background) is a bit sad. Computer simulations for engineers and drivers are useful tools, but you can't beat real human input.

Looks like Red Bull is experiencing what Mercedes experienced before: a brain drain. Newey also stated he would like to retire soon. Looks like as if Red Bulls dominance might come to an end soon. Then again the cirrent rule set kind of "freezes" the field (engines are frozen). Maybe 2024 will become a more competitve season as I reckon that most teams are already focusing on next year with their coming upgrades. Merc and Ferrari especially are turning away from their current design ideas and the full fruits of that will most likely be visible either in the 2nd half this year or next year

Hmm... what if the opposing teams simply pay RB engineers to leave, even if they don't or can't use them due to non competes, maybe RB can be kneecapped by just depleting the staff lol.

I really wish the wide sculpted shark gill pods of the ferrari would make it big.

Well it's only practice but it's looking pretty ominous for the weekend. Max half a second faster than anyone through just the first 3 corners. Alpine look to have found so decent performance and not just a Monaco one off.

Plus unless merc are deliberately not showing their hand this new design looks like a step back.

Leclerc still running the scoop pods with Sainz using the new design.

If I were either of Fer, Merc, AM, I'd be trying to finish the year in 4th place tbh. Good thing Stroll is in 2nd AM seat as they are guaranteed 4th due to his shit driving! Thus they will reap the benefits of the skewed development table and could actually make in roads against RB next year.

That's how I hope the season plays out because obviously RB got this locked and if Check doesn't win in Spain with a Max DNF, then the WDC is over too.

As for Merc, please let another crap season for Ham get him to fuck off completely. I can't handle that fucker hanging around much longer. He probably does stick around because he knows if he leaves F1 he will be a nobody and insignificant in whatever he ends up doing. He doesn't need the money, he isn't getting the glory any more and if anything is tarnishing his "legacy" so I can't think of any other reason he is staying. I can't see Merc suddenly vaulting the other 3 teams and being dominant again any time soon.

Regardless, it is great seeing Merc, Toto, Ham shitting up the track. Feel bit bad for George, but he kind of seems like he has the same prima donna potential as the people he works with. But he is at least way more intelligent and on top of it when it comes to driving and how to maximize results/position/strategy.

There are a few things in this world that makes me believe in macro/microcosms - as America turns into a gerontocracy, the imminent deaths of its leadership reflects on the shambling world order on the brink of collapse... and now you have this - an analysis that presents a long term macro strategy of slowing down to come out ahead, not unlike saving tyres to not have to stop again or not have them fall apart later in the race.

Here we go, there is some water near the track so the FIA cuck out.

Did they really just bleep out bloody?

And once again Hambone drives into someone and cries about how dangerous the other driver is.

Anyone hoping for a Vestappen vs Perez red bull fight it out season that's quickly crumbling.

Crofty wanking off about a Hamilton front row start. Fucking suck it.
