Imagine what could've been Alonso starting from pole position in Monaco, however Verstappen had to turn on his Thomas Ronhaar grip hacks just to clutch out that last sector.

Would be a miracle if Norris stays in the top 10 TBH, also thrilled for an Alpine podium since apparently Ocon is starting 3rd.

It is the best track for maintaining position even in a shitbox though. As long as he gets a good start and decent strategy he's got a shot of maintaining his position. Plus that alpine looks quick this weekend probably on par with the mercs, gasly ain't far back.

In Otmar's interview yesterday they asked if 4th was still the goal and he said yes, it's unlikely they'll catch Aston and Ferrari will probably get going at some point but merc is still beatable. Would be hilarious if merc ended up 5th.

Unless something crazy happens it's Vestappen, Alonso, or Ocon for the win. The last time the winner was not in the top 3 on the grid was 1996 for the ultimate attrition race.

Bit of rain will spice it up assuming the FIA font instantly throw the reds as soon as the first drop hits the track.

Especially if it falls between the medium and hard pit windows.

Ferrari bottling the strategy again. Not as badly as Aston apparently.

Lots of ordinarily reliable drivers (and Ferrari, naturally) dancing back and forth across the line between optimistic and retarded. An unusual amount of tattling, which really needs to stop.

Also, Monaco on ice.
 
The rain certainly made it more spicy. And of course Ferrari binned it. Though russell certainly did a dumb move. Others managed to get out of there just fine but nope. Move right on the racing line. Also Ocon doing a great job giving Alpine boss Szafnauer a bit of breathing space with that podium

Aston were so lucky with the gap Alonso had. He told them it wasn't slick weather and they still stuck him on slicks before realising.

She is so fucking bad objectively, though. Nearly killed a guy in practice, now almost took another's leg off. She's parked now though.

There's subtext here, and ironically it comes from Santino's time in F2. he tried to run a MAGA livery and was denied by the FIA. So the commies hate him. (There's more to this but it's really that.)

That tire was wild. And now O'Ward is out, so the redditors that were handwringing about Santino are now bereft they can't have a Mexican 500.

Edit: Fuuuuck, this ending is intense.

Haas really deserves some shit for keeping K Mag out there on slicks for so long which contributed to his eventual retirement from the race. They clearly knew they needed to change tires since they changed Hulk's (how'd they not even try to serve that penalty), but they just kept him out there. Also, the commentators remain dogshit, didn't notice Stroll was out until much later.
