I definitely dislike that one. It feels gimmicky trying to force some sort of mixed up grid since sprint hasn't done it for them. Over 1 lap a fast car is still a fast car while a slow car is a slow car, the tyres make some difference but a Williams on hard isn't faster than a ferrari on hards.

If anything it disadvantages the slower teams. If you use hards in q1 you are out one set of new hards for the race. The fast teams can probably get away with 1 flying lap so the set end up nearly new while the slower teams will have to give it a few goes wrecking that set.
I agree. Might as well draw numbers from a hat, it'd at least be honest about the intention.

Red Bull have named their engine department building after Jochen Rindt, it is The Rindt Building.

As a bit of a sidenote Rindt derives from Rind, which is a German word for bovines.

Also sorta off-topic, but when I watch F1 via the F1gplive website, the website always opens some invisible frame thing in front of the video, so when I want to click play, it clicks on that invisible frame and opens some random website for an online casino or some shit. How do I block that annoying crap on FireFox?

Hamilton ‘knew something wasn’t right’ in Abu Dhabi finale

Hamilton described his feelings after losing the championship after FIA Formula 1 race director Michael Masi broke the rules to arrange a final-lap restart.

“You see things start to unfold,” he told Vanity Fair, “and my worst fears came alive. I was like, there’s no way they’re going to cheat me out of this. There’s no way. That won’t happen. Surely not.”

Asked whether he felt cheated, Hamilton said: “I knew what had happened. I knew what decisions had been made and why. Yes, I knew that something wasn’t right.”

idk which ad blocker you use, but try using uBlock Origin. That's what I use when I go to F1gplive in Firefox, and I've never had any random websites open on me.

But it's Vettel getting frustrated with the race director in a closed door meeting that brings the sport into disrepute so requires punoshment right... Hell they fined Hambone and made him apologise for his "maybe it's because I is black" joke about a penalty he received.

The FIA really did become weak under Todt and without Bernie FOM ain't going to do shit either. All parties allowed the sport to become the Toto and lewlew show and that needs to be changed.

I hope that is lewlew's last real opportunity for a championship in his career, he won't get his 8th to overtake Schumacher and the bitterness from that will overshadow the ones he did win in his mind for the rest of his life.

I wonder: did he EVER adress the death threats Michael Masi got after the Abu Dhabi final? No? Then why the fuck should Max condem his fans for booing Hamilton or cheering when he crashes? Seriously. Lewis should shut the fuck up and move on. I know this sounds mean but I hope he never wins a race ever again in F1. Hopefully Red Bull keeps their advantage and Ferrari gets their shit together to keep Mercedes from winning for a long time

It was very telling how Sky F1 reported on the death threats and other abuse hurled at Masi

Notice the very to the point reporting, "this is what he said" and "this is what caused it".

None of the outrage over "online abuse", none of the blaming the fans, no opinion from anyone at Sky F1.

Now contrast with their piece about someone saying the new token woman pundit is shit (spoiler alert she is really, really shit):

"Someone said she's not good, but she's really good. The evil trolls won't win, they shouldn't even be allowed an opinion" this over a comment that she's not very good (that they didn't even quote).

Utterly pathetic knee bending. But then we know Sky F1 are still butt sore about now been able to spend the entirety of winter sucking off Hambone and I would bet some of the abuse came from people they encouraged with their crusade against Masi.

Also Max and Checo having a laugh about Hamilton

Reddit is melting down about them "mocking" Hamilton and saying they're just "bullies". Seriously that place is unable to take a joke.

When the season started I realized that these next two years are the best possible chance for Lewis' dumb always-won-a-race-in-every-season record to be broken. Unless RB and Ferrari drop the ball at the same time, it's almost assured he won't win a race this year.

For those that keep up with Indycar, Nashville GP just wrapped up and was just as much of a mess as it was last year. Although I will say that Indycar has their head on straight and actually threw the red flag when there was a wreck in the last couple laps so the drivers could actually race to the finish.
While I usually love Indycar since it makes for a nice afternoon of watching after waking up at an ungodly hour for F1, you could really tell the difference in skill level and driving quality this weekend. Absolute crashfest to the point where even elbows-out enjoyers seemed shocked by it. Watching Newgarden absolutely dump Grosjean into the wall and receive no penalties for it was shocking. Sucks for Grosjean too, he was having a great race.

Indycar created a literal slot machine of a race. Grosjean ran in the Top 8 nearly all day, had lots of push to pass left and could've had a podium finish until Newgarden forgot how to drive.

Nashville is a disaster. Half the field retired!

This is libel, full stop.

Masi did not break the rules, FIA at no point ever said that Masi broke the rules and if FIA was so unhappy with the results as Lewisdicklickers like to pretend, they could have reinstated the order of the field before the Safety Car was called in... and they could have done so for weeks.

But that's even besides the point, Lewis calls Masi someone who 'cheated' him out of a title. He all but calls him a racist. And the only plausible deniability he has to negate that assertion is to claim that FIA wanted him personally to be humbled... for no fucking reason.

Nah man, FIA should have reeled this worthless piece of shit in when he ghosted them before the season even started. They should now tell him to shut up and dangle the possibility of a revocation of his super license if he doesn't shut the fuck up.

Rate me optimistic but wouldn't it be great if they were holding on to his punishment just in case he won a race?

"Congrats on crossing the line first Lewis, fantastic 1-2. By the way, we settled on your punishment for skipping the prize gala: a seven figure fine and a 10 second time penalty. Unfortunately that means George gets this win."

It'll never happen, but I might actually die if it did.

I'd also settle for a DSQ in the last lap.

Just imagine Crofty:
"Finally, after a this season's long stretch of bad luck, Hamilton comes around the final corner for the last time and sees the chec- wait a minute, that flag isn't checkered, it's... solid black?! And they are holding out the info tablet with the 44 on display? What the hell is going on... LOOK. Now that he's past, they are waving the checkered flag for Leclerc..."

I’m pretty new to Indycar but from reading different comments for the last day it appears that Indycar has a race direction problem, specifically being way to lax on handing out penalties.

They sort of do but that wasn't really the problem last weekend. That track makes red flags.
