I agree. Might as well draw numbers from a hat, it'd at least be honest about the intention.I definitely dislike that one. It feels gimmicky trying to force some sort of mixed up grid since sprint hasn't done it for them. Over 1 lap a fast car is still a fast car while a slow car is a slow car, the tyres make some difference but a Williams on hard isn't faster than a ferrari on hards.
If anything it disadvantages the slower teams. If you use hards in q1 you are out one set of new hards for the race. The fast teams can probably get away with 1 flying lap so the set end up nearly new while the slower teams will have to give it a few goes wrecking that set.
