Apparently muricans don't know how to work a broom with how long this shit is taking.

Dear graphics morons, the times are infinitely more important than the tyre age, the places gained/lost, or the points they'll get when it's a battle for the lead

Funny how Vestappen and Leclerc can fight all day without ending smashed up but when Russell fights Hamilton he almost gets pushed into a wall twice. Almost as if Vestappen wasn't the problem last season.

Something that just struck me, when did it become common for the winning driver to give almost a speech via radio after the race? Seems like nowadays they have to cobble a few sentences together and can't just be left to celebrate by themselves. Was it always like this and I've just missed it in the years past?

"Hurr durr Russell was just lucky with the safety car, those racists at Mercedes and race control deliberately gave kang lewlew a bad strategy" - coping Hamilcucks.
Meanwhile Hamilton when asked what strategy he wants: "I don't know you tell me" Russell on the other hand "Let's stay out for now and wait for a VSC or SC" Strange

Based Russel using his mind to devistate Hamilton, seriously imagine understanding the metagame of races and not just telling your crew to tell you what a car is.

Gotta love how Merc's water boy is doing a much better job of taming their 2022 car than their golden boy is.

Even though the hope of Bottas beating Hambone was dashed by that safety car, I'm pleased with where George finished. It's also nice to see that Leclerc isn't going to have everything his own way... whilst I'd love to see him win the 2022 WDC, it'll be much more interesting if he has some pressure on him from Max as well as Carlos, Checo and maybe even George.

The good: Great race by Verstappen, he is one of F1s best drivers. I'm not a fan, but damn, he is in another league and I am so fucking glad this season shapes up to be about him and another stellar driver, Leclerc duking out who's best. Also decent drive by Perez, too bad he couldn't get a podium, but the Mexican Minister of Defense apparently had some technical issue and still managed to hang on to the top 3. Russel beating Hamilton (in large parts thanks to a ballsy all-or-nothing strategy call betting on a safety car, no less!) just always a pleasure. Vettel was having a great race, too. Small issues with running wide here and there, but overall a solid performance and I was really happy to see him in 9th... and then...
The bad: ... Mick punts him off the track. That was a really terrible moment. Mick had a good race himself up to that point. I would have been so happy with that result: Seb earning his 9th place, Mick getting a decent 10th. Fuck, it's kinda sad.

Also, me before the race:
"Oh boy, those guys on the KF thread surely exaggerate when it comes to the annoying cuts to 'literal who' and 'have-been' celebs."
How wrong I was. :story:
Maybe just a minor nitpick, but there was one shot where the camera would pan away from cars going around a corner towards a straight to show the crowd cheering. I found that very jarring. I felt this was done better in previous races, since it felt like I was shown the faces of random cheering people when I'd rather would like to see what's going on on the track. I also noticed that when something happened on track, they brought in audio from the grandstands - I usually hate stuff like that, cause it feels kinda cheap (like canned laughter in a sitcom), but I have to admit, I liked it here.

Yeah, I think Gasly was distracted with some car issue and just screwed up. A damn shame. At least the car didn't go into the wall, so the damage to the car is really light.

I guess radio transmissions have become more common, so that's kind of a trend to thank the team via radio. Then again, maybe this has always been the case and we just never heard them in the past? I mean, it's common courtesy to thank the rest of the team that's doing their job in the pits and engineering departments.

Despite another win for the Dutchman, It still feels like the championship could go either way. Verstappen and Leclerc are so impressive.

That move Perez made on Sainz was in the same league of optimism as Russell Greer when he attempted to court Taylor Swift, but I love that he had a go at defying fundamental laws of physics in an attempt to gain a place. If you can manage that without punting either yourself or the other car off, then more battery power to you.

There were some strange, probably avoidable, accidents. Did Vettel say "which car was that?" or "which cunt was that?" following his collision with Schumacher? I've played the radio message back and I still can't tell.

Always a worry when a tire get loose. Thankfully this one rolled rather than catching air.

The likes of Senna and Schumacher were capable of navigating a circuit one-handed, while making small adjustments to their car with the other. It's great to see this world champion predilection towards multi-tasking reflected in Hamilton's ability to sulk while travelling at speeds well in excess of 100mph. Even his team seem to be sick of managing his moods. You can hear it in their tone of voice on the radio. His sour attitude must be even more obvious now that they have motivated up and comer in the form of Russell.

Sure I get that, it just seems that when we did get the post-race radio call in the past (think in the 2000s and 2010s before Liberty Media) they felt much more natural and definitely not as scripted as they feel now. But it's a minor thing, I usually turn the TV off immediately when they're done anyway.

Not to puit a dent in your optimism but Charles and Max seem to be in a league of their own. Just take a look on their restart: gone within 2 or 3 laps. Yeah Sainz was holding of Checo but even then Checo wouldn't have made a dent on Charles in this race.

For the race itself it's good to see Sainz back in the points. Oh and Albon managed to scrounge another point very nice. Looks like that Williams has race pace. Unfortunately no Quali pace

Yeah, I love how he bitched about how he can't be arsed to call the strategy then bitched about the strategy. I can't imagine Bono's fucking job.
The Willy T. Ribbs interview segment was the greatest interview segment of all time.
Oh shit I'll have to go back and look at that. He's always incredibly moronic.

That move Perez made on Sainz was in the same league of optimism as Russell Greer when he attempted to court Taylor Swift,
He was making it just fine until he had to put lateral load into the tyres by steering away from Sainz turning in. That's what caused the tyres to lock. If he could have just gone straight it would have run Sainz wide and probably made the corner. That jink by Sainz that made Perez move a bit was a brilliant defensive move because any lateral load was guaranteed to make that brake lock.

Also Hamilton is coping hard and needs the media to give him a pat on the back.

Yup Hamilton's gone off on his usual "I did shitly so it's clearly the team's fault".

"Why didn't they just decide, why ask me?" maybe because when they tell you what to do you start reeing on the radio that they need to do it your way and they suck?
