That has to be gossip pulled from thin air. No way in hell is Hamilton genuinely contemplating leaving the sport. His reputation as a driver could flip amongst the general public from "best driver in the world" to "world's biggest pissy-pants dramaqueen" with such a petty move. If he ragequits, perception might change to the one we have in this thread: A bit of an ass, giant ego, competent driver - but the car did the heavy lifting all these years.News in the F1 world is Toto has had some meeting with Vasseur (team principal of alfa romeo), there is some info about Vasseur having a meeting with Giovinazzi's manager too. The natural conclusion is Merc wanting Bottas back and Alfa trying to get Gio back for some of that sweet ferrari money.
Could be (and likely is) just standard gossip bullshit or it could be Toto honestly not knowing Hambone's plans and setting up a plan B.
The salt from his simps would be grade AAA. This is never gonna happen and if it did, I know I have been run over by a car or something and I'm in a feverdream-filled coma.
Awesome to see another engine manifacturer joins F1. That bit is quite interesting... might they be trying to work towards cooperating with RB?In an apparent swipe to rivals Mercedes, Duesmann and Hoffmann opened their the letter – seen by RaceFans – by congratulating Todt on what it regarded as a fair conclusion to this year’s Formula 1 championship. They referred specifically to the final lap, on which Max Verstappen passed Lewis Hamilton to clinch the title following a controversial restart, which Mercedes considered appealing against for four days before backing down.
Anyone going into F1 must know that getting into that sport is going to be a furnace for money for at least half a decade and even then you've merely crawled out of the money-furnace and into the money-pyre. It takes a lot of time to make an engine that's worth a damn, especially given the regulations it must fulfill, and then it takes longer still to get any money out of the sport ... you simply won't just plop that thing together in a year or two and rake in cash and trophies.Would be nice to have another contractor as long as they give it a fair shake rather than rage quit after a couple of mediocre results like a lot of new constructor teams seem to.
But if they are committed, that could be fucking cool in the long run.
Can you even imagine the kind of shitshow we'd get if Bottas came back and had to play second fiddle -again- but this time to some young "upstart" like Russel?Toto so afraid His Royal Magestly Loowis will bail on him that hes trying to get back the driver hes treated like shit for years?
No disrespect to Russel, but from Bottas' perspective, that would be inacceptable.
JFC, Schumacher and Russel in Mercedes 2022. Make it happen!
