I like Ricciardo as a personality. It is obvious to anyone, besides himself, that he has been broken by the machinations of F1, and that his cynicism has permeated into his driving. He would potentially be rejuvenated in a different series.
Ricciardo's personality would suit NASCAR down to the ground. It'd also mesh pretty well with IndyCar, but swapping open wheelers for tin tops could be the fillip his racing career needs.

Ricciardo was done the moment Max got in the seat next to him. He knew he wasn't going to be number 1 at Red Bull and the only other possibly competative seats were already full.

The move to Renault was a bust because the Frogs decided to off their entire management, rebrand the lot and pretty much give up trying. The move to McLaren was just a last desperate jump to a somewhat competative car but Norris smoked him.

When he moved to Renault he has the choice of them or McLaren. Who knows, if he had chosen McLaren he could have had more say in the development for the new rules and it might be a different picture now. We'll never know I guess.

He'll go down in history as one of the best to never win a championship but ultimately no one cares about that stat.

There's no two ways about it, he's going out of the sport having been fired with his reputation in tatters, it would be very surprising if he came back from this. His best move would have been swallow his pride, drag the donkey of a Hass around at the back and hope to regain some credibility like KMag has this season.

Just look at Charles' eyes... the man's soul is crushed. Look at the way he has his hands clasped, as if begging the Scuderia not to screw up... as if in prayer: "God, please, let things go right for me."

Ferrari confirmed they did halt upgrades on the car due to cost cap.

I don't fully believe it given how much Mercedes and RedBull churned out of their factories and design teams. I think Ferrari had to adjust to the rule changes mid season and probably decided to screw it and concentrate on 2023. At least that is what I hope.
Or were the damages they accum, ulated over the season that much of a cost factor? Sainz did some damage early and Charles wasn't exactly crash free either. Plus the exploding engines might have cost a pretty penny too

Sounds like the "minor oversight" (rather than you know entirely fixed fire the race director ree) of Tsunoda may have impacted on the championship, all be it the fight for 2nd.

It was kind of inevitable they would go that way if they could work it out. They were making all the wrong noises for Mick keeping his seat.

I feel sorry for Mick, his rookie season was with a shit car no one could be bothered to develop alongside Maz so didn't have anyone to help guide him (Seb tried but not the same as having an experienced teammate). Then when they do come out with a decent car they don't keep up with development on it.

Clearly Haas didn't enjoy or weren't set up for being a driver development team and wanted a return to two experienced drivers like the KMag and Grosjean days.

Mick's statement

Seriously a Harry Potter obsessed polycule run ponzi scheme was team sponsor.

Of course Toto is blaming crypto and muh regulations. Like you used to be an investment banker, do your research before making the deal.

Doesn't F1 have a history of shady sponsors? It may just be the latest one. As long as they brought the money, right? Anything to make the car faster.

Free Practice 1 do really be looking like My Team career mode after 4 seasons.

8 drivers were replaced for this session - usually it was just 1 or 2 who got stood in for.

Hambone in with a really scary chance to wrap off the season with a win, I guess only Mr. Turned In On Me or Sir Righteous Verstappen can deny him the chance.
