The Discworld had an edge to it and people would just sail over it if it wasn't for the nets that people living at the edge put up to scavenge stuff that would have gone over. These idiots believe there are literal other worlds beyond the "ice wall" based in part on what Admiral Byrd said back when he reached the South Pole way back in the day.

He made mention of the lands beyond "Little America" and the south pole. Little America being the name of the American camp there. There have been five iterations of this camp since the early 1900's but flattards like to think it's always the same one. In any case in saying the "lands beyond, as vast as the United States" he meant standing at the South Pole, looking away from Little America there was literally half a continent still to be explored. If you put a map of the United States on Antarctica, you'll see Antarctica is bigger in size. So there's no question what he was referring to. Flattards on the other hand have taken this to mean there are literal "other lands" as seen in some of the other posts that they've created and given fanciful names to.
 
Oh boy, one of my partner's colleagues is a flat earther. He's a funny guy, just filled to the brim with conspiracies. Apparently he believes that dinosaurs died because of human civilisation that co-existed with them producing a massive nuclear fallout and that's why dinosaur bones at museums are brown. Because of the radiation. Y'know, despite the fact that museums don't display the actual bones and only casts of them usually.

If the earth were a disc, with the North Pole at the center and the South Pole at the edge (this is the most popular theory among these types, no?) then wouldn't it take far longer to circumnavigate the Southern oceans than the northern ones?

Honestly, I think these people are just contrarian by nature and wanted to support a conspiracy theory that would allow them to have secret knowledge that is beyond that of us mindless sheeple, but they bet on the wrong pony and are just making their own lives more difficult for picking the Hard Mode of conspiracy theory bullshit.

According to the flat earthers, the airlines lie about how long they take to fly those distances and nobody realizes it because reasons.
