With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

I forget the actual number but you could just calculate how many fishcoin in stox got bought from IPOs on S5 and they basically paid for the entire season just from that.

In the off-season, payroll can probably be covered just by people letting their season passes renew.

I think this thread sometimes forgets that neither the real world nor the broader internet are like this thread.

There is no controversy. Almost no one outside of this thread knows about Jet banging Ellie. Even FishTank Twitter's posts about it got basically no reach outside of the kind of no-lifes tweeting about FishTank in the off-season. I doubt Sam's heard about it and if he has, why would he care? If no one knows about it and it's not threatening the project, why would he worry? Does he think it's going to hurt his reputation? Really? Neo-nazi disgraced former TV show runner that beat up his underage girlfriend is going to be worry about his reputation getting damaged because the showrunner of one of his projects keeps banging the talent?

In past seasons, Sam would commute to the house in the evenings (and not even all evenings), do a 6-8 hour day, and dip out. He'd often show up not knowing what happened since he was gone, even if it was something important like someone walking off the show. He was never a fanatic about the project, even though I think he DOES enjoy it (most of the time) and cares about its success.

But he was never going to fly across the country and stay there 4-6 weeks to host the show. It simply was never a possibility. He's not going to live out of a hotel for that time, he's DEFINITELY not going to stay in the house with production with the show going 24/7, he's not going to try and tele-manage his projects for a month, etc. Even if he's working on dumb shit like dietary supplements or doomed series for mde.tv, he IS constantly grinding and he's going to want to be near his office and not have to be away for 4 weeks.
 
Jesus, it's like this thread has never watched Fishtank. They always gaslight the fans, even when there is no reason to, and especially when it's harmful to the product. Jet saying Sam isn't hosting means as much as when they said Binx won before the RV arc.

I think Jan has the potential to be a better host, but he needs a different character than Xavier to do so, and he seems reluctant to do so. I think Fallout Tank lore dump was all him and I think he could seriously be good at forcing contestants to do long term LARP competitions.
 
i guess the coolest thing that could happen is the show does alright, sam isnt pressured to fix anything because hes not the host anymore, flies out and gleefully inflicts 24 hrs of cruel and unusual kino on some retards.

its like going into work on your day off just to fuck with your coworkers

of course, but you'd have to be blind not to notice sam moving away from it and hating it. right from the start he didn't want to be a part of it, which worked in their favor for the ending of s1. I'm enjoying the copium that sam might not be involved, but it seems more likely than not. I hope you're right! they got me.
 
They are in Georgia because it's amenable to film crews. The potential for a loser trying to run up on the rural Georgia property and getting smoked by Jet (with a comically silly gun and outfit) is an added bonus.
 
With Sam Hyde being the tard-guard for the previous season it's going to take one Freddy to retardedly fight back the crew under the influence like he nearly did many times. This is going to be fun!
