With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

I'm not convinced Sam isn't similar behind the scenes. I'm pessimistic on who the 'real' Sam Hyde is.

I'm half expecting Fishtank will end in a microcosm of the Harvey Weinstein shitshow.

Erick Hayden is also pretty normal. And I want to think that Sam isn't "bringing Fuentes into the fold" as much as he just had him on his podcast, but who knows anymore.

On the subject of Nick Rochefort though, I remember in one of his Scuffed Realtor streams he was talking about how if you're in your 20s, don't know anyone and want to meet people or are just bored, he advised to just go to a bar. He mentioned how he used to go to the bar alone a lot in his 20s, grab a beer and maybe meet some interesting people or maybe not depending on the day. He swore by it and said it's a very easy no brainer obvious way to just spice things up when you're in a rut as long as you aren't a complete alcoholic.

It had me wondering why the hell Jet (and supposedly Ben) is trying to pick up high schoolers and trying to "import girls"? He claims it's because they struggle to meet girls because of their internet presence? I don't get it. Why wouldn't they just do what Nick says and just go to a bar and maybe meet people. Sure you can argue that you might not meet the best people at bars but are high schoolers raised on Discord or "imported girls" with bull rings really any better? Why stoop so low? Maybe Jet would struggle to pick up chicks for obvious reasons but I'm sure Ben would do fine.

Most of the people who go on Fishtank are broken in some way and Jet is taking advantage of that. They're not normal people and most never will be.

Sam said on PGL that Fuentes was coming back. Maybe not on the Sam Hyde Show, but to hangout. Rochefort was super excited about it.

Jet has next to no game/rizz. It's pretty obvious and the daddy issues don't help either. All he has going for him is the clout from being in charge of Fishtank.

The bare minimum is to take phones away and generally make their world be only what is on camera for the duration of the show. That's the whole point of something like this, otherwise just stream a normal house.
 
As much as I like the look of the Chicken Coup site, you watch one of those streams and you know instantly that you aren't getting anything near Fishtank level of quality (as fleeting as that may be).
