From an outsider perspective that knows of fishtank but never got into it I am just surprised that for how long they've been doing this, and of all the production complications you could have, this was really easily avoidable and they chose to not take a single precaution against it. Just gives the outsider view that they either really don't care about this project very much or they're really stupid. And as far as I've heard or gotten the impression they're relatively smart people.

Sam is relatively smart but keeps his involvement in fishtank's planning minimal. He just wants to run up his career as a funny cynical RW influencer so he has a bigger budget for sketch comedy and gets more standup gigs booked. Sam does not want his legacy being "reality show where everyone's retarded"
Jet is decidedly NOT smart, and has a long and sordid history of fucking things up and generally being a gas-huffing retard. Ice and the IP2 fuckers would all use: modems connected to either a bela box / LiveU style rig, laptop running OBS with all the widgets, speaker connected to the laptop for better TTS latency, various cell phones or GoPros as cameras all feeding into OBS(usually just 2 cams and chat could get a link to the second cam by typing /cam2)

they regularly had deadzones and downtime but would lower the bitrate since they understood that keeping the stream alive and the paypigs paying was more important than having a good edit at the end of the show(i guess clips in the context of IP). wiggers prioritized the edit and let the streams actually die. if they'd had a better setup that was efficient for livestreaming they could have ran a low bitrate while they were in areas with bad cell service and kept actual downtime minimal. no matter how you cut it s3's RV was a complete fuckup.

Yeah I'm as inept as the wiggers when it comes to this. They could have definitely sacrificed the quality on that camera in the basement because it had like a ten foot radius before it lagged around the modem they put down there.
