With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

I really want to like TJ but he's so damn awkward I really struggle with it. Just clearly extremely uncomfortable on camera. It's frustrating.

even when a little kid does it it's kind of embarrassing to watch but you forgive it because he's five but feeling that much embarrassment watching an adult on camera is too much

Jon's been IRL streaming for about 6 hours so far with BG Kumbi in New Orleans (1 view average)



Brian, TJ, and Taylor have been live and are still as previously discussed (160avg)
Shinji was live earlier for a fairly short one (100 at peak, dropped to 50 by the end when he started playing COD)
Jimmy just ended (Pretty much stayed smack at 70 the whole time despite getting copyright struck, streamed VHSes he's salvaged and played something YouTube didn't want him to play)
Trish has also been live (60avg, her dad was audible at one point)

Sylvia may be the most narcissistic fish from either season. She’s constantly worried about herself and herself alone. She’s fat and lazy, yet she acts like she’s God’s gift to the earth and no one treats her right.

I’ve seen people on Twitter say that Sylvia has scammed them out of custom orders after they already paid. Serves them right for being coomers. But it doesn’t paint her in a positive light.

Oh, and the suicide baiting is fucking gay and lolcow behavior.

it's not inside info, BG's first time meeting Sam was captured on Sam's youtube live when he was down to film his part for WP2 and he came off like a superfreak who at the same time acted like a superfan and a superautist who was trying to ironically mogg Sam in front of an audience
there was talk of an incident Sam and BG had days after during filming WP2

immediately obvious keywords give nothing, lots of deeper digging turns up deleted clips from the relevant streams

That last clip is giving me terrible second hand embarrassment. I feel bad for kumbi, he obviously liked hyde to some degree and was hyped to meet him. I think hyde just didn't like how fanned out he was.
Found this on youtube while looking for videos relating to it, basically kumbi says he was removed from 3 wp2 sketches and sam tore up a contract that he came to his office with.

that's on brand for his humour, to say shit with a straight face
the joke could be that he didn't bring a contract and is claiming that he did because it's a ridiculous thing for anyone to do in the context, or it could mean he wrote up a joke contract as an ironic prop and it's in-humour for the relevant people who were there

back before S2 in late fall Sylvia and Jon were going to be in Texas as the same time to appear on Alex Stein and do a meetup at some bar. Sylvia offered to have Jon check out of the motel they both agreed was unsafe and stay in her hotel room. They streamed together and he was loud and out of control and seething about money for most of it and caused damage to the hotel they had to pay for. They received a lot of donations and he assumed she was trying to steal the intake but she was just prepaying his cut of the hotel costs. At some point- the fine details remain a mystery - Sylvia occasioned to be given a backrub by Jon and Jon popped a boner. Jon accused Sylvia of propositioning him and Sylvia says her back hurt and her expectation was that as he said to Simmons backrubs aren't sexual.
 
Kumbi is constantly lying and exaggerating stuff with a straight face. His schtick is to just make up completely false stories, like Sam ripping up his contract.

I watched a couple of those streams when they were happening and the only thing that seemed out of place was Kumbi staying in character and continuously trying to be funny while Sam just wanted to hang out and box.

Sam worked with a lot of people in 2023 but only a few of them were recurring. I wouldn't read much into it. If Kumbi isn't in WP2 then we'll know.
