I'm interested in what you guys have to say about this.
From my experience on other platforms everyone there seemed to be having a good time. like people were really enjoying the Frank tay thing and did not care about the chickens. I think the average viewer is more wigger than we think in the form. like I was suprised most of the chat really enjoyed Jets presence (unless they were saying that to not be taken down). For me the season wasn't terrible I think theres a lot of fat you have to cut out but there were some things I remember that were enjoyable that most people didnt notice that I liked or didnt clip so I was happy to see it live. I think the only real way for me to not want to watch the show is if someone/animal died or if it gets too paypig-ish.

They should do Fishtank Hotel. No actual grand prize, just retards showing up to fight over internet clout.

Saw this poll on the fishtank subreddit and found the results interesting. In a poll of 1300 people (a decent size considering the peak viewership was about 10k) 854 voted that season 2 was better than season 1. Just 249 people thought it was worse. I thought season 2 was very enjoyable but let's be real it was a step down from season 1. I'm interested in what you guys have to say about this.

S2 is better then S1. S2 had more autistic meltdowns and more violence. Plus there was Greg.

Whenever I glanced at Fishchat* (do not recommend) during the finale, no one seemed to be complaining. /tv/ was not as critical as I would have expected either. I also glanced at Twitter several times throughout the finale and was surprised by the lack of people calling out some of the outrageous things they were doing (like TJ getting refunded chips due to spam).
  • Fishtank.live chat - Paying customers wholly dedicated to the show when they're watching, you'll notice same names a lot spamming nonsense
  • 4chan - Not very critical, mostly waifuposting, shitposting, and bickering. When a thread dies so do prior conversations.
  • Twitter - All of the popular accounts lean towards saying nice things, else there's no chance for the retweets/likes they're after. Most retweet without watching the show much.
Kiwifarms is the only place with genuine discussion for Fishtank that I'm aware of. I don't check reddit since the format is terrible.

Season 2 was better on the tech side, excepting the constant downtime, but as a show was significantly worse for me. That said, I'm a viewer who gets tired of Fatty, Frank, forced bits, faux "gaslighting", etc and I think that is all well received by most viewers. So for me, season 2 was far worse. I was glued to season 1 and saw almost everything live, season 2 I couldn't care less after a point and just tuned in when I got wind something was happening. There were some great moments, mostly in the first half, but beyond that the day-to-day was dreadful to watch and production never seemed to see it as their job to fix that aside from literally telling the contestants "Do something!"
This season soured Fishtank for me.

On Taylor’s Twitch stream she said, “TJ told me to let you all know he’s fine…. And that’s all I’m going to say about that…” Followed by a bashful laugh. It’s over for TJ already?
I didn’t watch her stream and have only seen clips and posts but last night while she was streaming she was apparently sending selfies and texting someone. Her chat exploded saying she was texting TJ and eventually admitted that it was him by saying “he said I could tell you that he was eating Popeyes.” I wonder if he it just purposefully staying away from the internet. I actually think it would be good for him to just leave the internet instead of pretending to be a streamer. Despite all of the lubecooch shit he was actually one of the least doxxed contestants. No one ever found out where he lives and I don’t even think we know his last name.

I watched more of the stream and it's clear they're already internet dating. Not sure if it will progress beyond that. But it's obvious if you watch her reactions to being pressed.

S2 was better than S1, to me it isn't even close. The problem is, the bad parts of S2 were those immediately before the finale, so at the end of the season they were what was most fresh in my mind. I think the biggest blunder was kicking Brian. He would have stayed through the end, no question. So between him getting kicked, so many people quitting, and then Jimmy sperging out, they were left with 4 people for like half of the show. They couldn't have eliminations and they had to coddletank at least enough that no one quit. But even considering that, I think S2 blows S1 out of the water.

I understand why they had to kick *someone* the night they kicked Brian - no one was taking "stop calling me Sam, stop saying production told you" seriously, so they had to make an example out of someone. It should have been Jimmy, since he's the one that immediately started saying "production told me" as soon as they were given that talk. I'm guessing they wanted to keep him around because he's such a content farm and that's why they 'sacrificed' someone to keep Jimmy on, but that fuckin backfired because Jimmy is only one step above Summer in terms of instability. But in retrospect, Brian was probably the worst of the bunch to actually let go that night. He actually played the game.

This thread is almost entirely haters, the KF live chat is where all the actual viewers were.

Those "bad parts" that are being dismissed were five days of nearly dead air. S2 had extreme lows.

Nah but season 2 is very easy to hate. A lot of the season 2 haters are season 1 fans, maybe because season 1 set an expectation and season 2 subverted it in a gross way? Not sure, I'm personally a Jet hater and think he's a major problem with the show. I don't care if he happened to be bouncing ideas with Sam while riding in Sam's truck one day or whatever the story is, he clearly isn't up to the task.

Admittedly, Season 1 was given a ton of leeway due to novelty.
Yep. But I'm not "dismissing" them, a pretty significant portion of S1 was just literally nothing, more than 5 days. I just don't think they were concentrated toward the end like that.
Season 1's dry spell was the camping arc or am I mistaken? Basically planned dead air where Jet forgot it was also a multi-day challenge for "best camper wins a fishbuck" or whatever. At least it had a reason to happen and led to some kino, playing a major part in Letty's arc on the show.

On "arcs," I'm tired of that being a forced thing for the show. It was a bit of a joke to say "the X arc" for season 1, eg "the camping arc" but it did serve to refer to a specific time everyone is immediately familiar with. Letty had a genuine character arc on the show as well, certainly the most drastic. Season 2 it seems like production wanted to force both time and character arcs when that isn't how it works.

I fall in the middle. I think they made a lot of mistakes they made in the first season again a second time. I wish that the blueprint for winning wasn't contradictory to the show they want. I still have a great time watching the seasons. But I also find it gay how positive Twitter and Reddit wants us to be here. Sorry we're critically thinking. Kiwifarms is never going to be a hugbox. Yet, I also think we're fair. When pressed this is one of the few places I've seen people concede points.

I was watching Season 1 any chance I could get, especially when Letty started her villain arc, and I bought a season pass after Sylvia made Chris meltdown, I was literally rolling on the floor laughing after seeing it go down live. Whereas I rarely tuned in live to this season and relied on this thread and Twitter to know what was going on.

Season 2 had high points to be sure, Jimmy's insanity was a fun train wreck to watch unfold and the Jimmy vs TJ and later Tay vs TJ boxing matches were great to see live, but it was clear production was phoning it in. People get mad at the cast this season, but I blame production for not giving the fish interesting challenges that would make them shine and instead bringing in gang niggers like Charleston White or carelessly letting Jimmy alone with a 95 lb woman so they could smoke in the basement. I even have to throw some blame towards Sam for not keeping his wiggers on a tighter leash and letting his temper get the best of him. While I'm not too keen on Cole, in hindsight it would have been interesting had he lasted a touch longer, if for no other reason than to see him get spat on or socked in the face by Tay. I also found Brian and Trish to be total nontent and their sleeping together and later being found out by Brian's ex to be obviously scripted and stupid. It says a lot about this season that they had to have two plants.

The real thing that made me dislike Season 2 and turned me off from watching it live was the weird, toxic vibe in the house. You could feel Sam's frustration over things not going the right way, Jet's weed-induced arrogance and apathy, etc. This culminated in production's bizarre sabotage of Tay, which I'll never understand. It sets a bad precedent to punish contestants for creating content and being competitive while letting nontent creators like TJ coast by. I like TJ and thought his boxing arc was cool, but he was obviously carried by the wiggers towards the end.

So overall, I was not a fan of this season. I derived more pleasure seeing production fumble the ball than I did seeing the fish get gaslit or fucked with, which is saying something.

The random acts of violence, Summer having an actual psychotic breakdown, production being weirdly hostile for no real reason, peer pressure to binge drink and Sam seeming far more checked out and annoyed then in season 1 is why I think the feeling was so much more negative/darker overall. No one in season 1 really ever got hurt. Letty got her face spat in and Fatty fell down a few steps. People actually were getting hurt this season.

Brian looks like a boy with man hands lighting one up here. He's so friggin cool!

Josie dropped a fresh Tiktok. Features her and Letty doing karaoke, not that you can hear them. I'm guessing everyone is doing their own little after parties before parting ways, Letty may as well move to Rhode Island at this point.

Something I think we can all agree on is that the director cam was an amazing addition to the show. Every time it was turned on we would get amazing shots of the fish. My only complaint is a that they didn’t use it earlier and more often. I also think that during this season there were way more “Neptunian” moments were the cams would look like shots from a movie.

It would be funny if Taylor fleeces TJ for his money and blows it all on gambling.
I can picture a video of this in my head, they're in a casino, TJ's near the roulette tables just standing there swinging his arms back and forth while the overworld music from Yoshi's Island plays, someone comes by with a horse mask on and he tries to walk away in fear, then it cuts over to Taylor at the reels and the screen just drops to 144p with a shitton of GAMBLECORE effects and then the background turns into a shot of TJ's paypal balance saying -14 QUADRILLION and an ad popup for job offers like one to be the onsite plumber for season 3

Director cam was fantastic and easily the best new addition to the season 2 website. So was the body camera which gave a totally new feel to the tank.
