She understood that Charleston was just trying to get her riled up as part of comedic routine. Watching S1 gave her the understanding that Freeloaders were there to fuck with them and some had specific roles to play like Frank who came in as a bully, which is why she was so hostile to Britney because she kept noticing Britney switch between a crazy bitch and 'uwu i'm a poor vulnerable girl' which is why she warned TJ and Jimmy to keep away from her. Charleston just came in laughing and cracking jokes while getting hazed by the TTS the whole time so he was never a serious threat in her eyes, but she still was wary and kept her eyes open in the bunk until he was taken away by Jet.
Never thought he was a threat that night ofc, I just think it was spineless of her to just act like he didn't say anything.

You guys remember the backlash from Charleston coming on? People who legitimately thought he was going to rape Trish on camera in front of thousands of people? lol
I didn't think even he'd be stupid enough to actually do it, but given everything about him it still seems questionable to be around him

I'm not even sure what Jet and Sam thought he would bring to the show. All he did was nigger babble and people didn't really seem to care.

paypigs and people who only watch clips have no complaints
Don't let your perception be messed with by youtube and other big social media sites. Do you know how hard it is to get a negative or critical comment past their shadow ban system? You write your critical comment, and you see it under the video, but nobody engages with it because it got shadow-banned.
Most people don't keep in mind that this is happening and see 99 positive comments and 1 negative comment that managed to get through the shadow ban system. It makes them think that the reception is overwhelmingly positive, not realizing there could be 200 negative shadow-banned comments.

You had a sizable amount of people upset with coddle tank on 4chan (people did get banned from /ftl/ for being too negative, thanks to tranny jannies).
This thread, which is pretty much untampered, really disliked coddle tank.

Many paypigs are super-fans and all suffer from the sunk cost fallacy. Their opinion is probably the rosiest.

I just can't figure out if this is him trying to maintain his relationship for future FT content, falling for Chris's routine with people who try to help him, pure manipulation or genuinely feeling bad.
So he is deflecting a little, while acknowledging that they engineer situations for Chris to humiliate himself for entertainment.
I am pretty sure Chris has a humiliation fetish. I feel worse for the people who have to endure him than him for his attempt to use getting humiliated as emotional blackmail.
Do people believe Chris is too retarded to know what suspenders are, and he can't help but have his pants fall down?

Production uses Chris as a joke and a repulsive person to disgust contestants with.
"If you flirt with Chris, you get a Fishbuck." "lol, Trish, you need to give Chris a sponge bath."

Like Tay correctly stated, he is the joke.
Production getting mad at Tay for stating the obvious just shows they feel guilty about it.

I am pretty sure their justification in their head looks like this:
"Yeah, we make fun of Chris and humiliate him in front of an audience, but we give him money and opportunity, and we actually like him. Making fun of him is just part of the show. Chris was fine with it in the end, and there are no hard feelings.
If you think about it, we actually really help Chris."

Sam has drunk his own Kool-Aid; he does think he has the power to change people. Does he truly believe he can fix Chris, or was it just because he felt guilty when Tay stated the obvious, making production look like assholes?

Sam needs to stop being a help guru, it's retarded.
You can't help people who don't want to help themselves.

I think Chris is a bit complicated. He obviously has some legitimate mental disabilities. But he's also extremely manipulative and at times has shown he's extremely self aware.

and I don't think for a second Sam and the Wiggers actually care about him. All they care about his keeping him satiated enough to stay on their show because he's a content machine.

Is no one in this thread going to talk about how weirdly quiet things have been? Sam and Jet have barely posted about it since it ended. Sam hasn’t even posted any sort tweet about the show ending just some vague stuff from his book and reposting people. Tay and TJ didn’t even get any sort of goodbye photo or congratulations from them. I don’t even think they were with them when they were hanging out after the show. Tay, Brian, Shinji, and Trish have all already been confirmed to have gone home. By this point Sam and Jet did their recap stream with Josie and Letty. Menwhile, TJ had gone MIA and hasn’t made a single post since he won. His only post tank activity was that Taylor was drunkenly texting him back and forth during her livestream. I’ve heard some schizo theories that they’re doing some sort of epilogue with the show because the Fishbnb is still active. After the final boxing match, Sam and Jet went to the dog house to talk. You could barely make it out but they were talking about doing something crazy. There’s some things that can be explained away like the show ending abruptly because they were worried about Shinji but in general things have been off.

I'm not sure if it was posted here. But everyone got the flu right at the end. Could be that.

I'm still very curious about this conversation that Sam had with Chris, I really want to believe it was just him manipulating Chris to trust him and stay on. Sam wants to give advice to young men but also wants to avoid the Internet Dad stuff, but this is him playing exactly into that with someone who can't be helped.
Sam isn't stupid, he knows that some people cannot resolve their own issues and Fatty is almost certainly one of them. Sam does view him as a good entertainer and a force of chaos that fits in perfectly with the show, but if someone asks for help he will be willing to give advice, but he doesn't seem willing to expose or sacrifice himself trying to save a sinking ship, which is a pragmatic balance. Fatty just doesn't have the intellectual fortitude like Tay to identify missteps and correct them, or ask serious questions like TJ did to Sam as to why people don't respect or take him seriously inside the tank and outside.

My two cents: Sam is not under any delusions that he can fix Chris, but that doesn't mean he feels hate or contempt for him either, and he does have some sympathy for him and genuinely like him on some level. He also knows exactly how Chris operates and how to wrangle him, and he's an invaluable asset for what Sam is doing with this show, so he's also going to want to stay on good terms with him and preserve this working relationship. Love or hate him, Chris is an obnoxious fat clown that Sam can unleash on his Fishtank victims, while also being mostly harmless, predictable, and unlikely to cause any real problems or actually hurt someone, if only because he's physically incapable. Sam couldn't have asked for a better person to find to keep on the roster for this project, and he's not gonna fuck it up by being a tough love asshole to someone that's never going to apply real advice anyway.

Sam and Jet went to the dog house to talk. You could barely make it out but they were talking about doing something crazy.
I remember at probably a week or two before the finale Jet asking if everybody wanted to stay an extra week. Dunye said fuck no lol, but maybe there is something going on with them

A fair point, but I've only watched a couple of FT videos on YouTube and haven't looked at a single comment section. To be honest, that line in my post was mostly based on assumptions rather than what I've actually seen. Whenever I glanced at Fishchat* (do not recommend) during the finale, no one seemed to be complaining. /tv/ was not as critical as I would have expected either. I also glanced at Twitter several times throughout the finale and was surprised by the lack of people calling out some of the outrageous things they were doing (like TJ getting refunded chips due to spam). This was a very small sample size though. I haven't looked at anything since the end so maybe there is more criticism out there than I assume.

I don't know any of the X/YT accounts covering FT besides AB, who I watched on the occasions when I missed a stretch of days. I don't know if he or anyone else could be counted as influential among the fans, but I am quite curious what the big names think. Thing is, I'm understandably pretty burned out on the show for now so I probably won't go looking and will probably stop following this thread soon.

I'm sure there are plenty of similarly disgruntled fans out there, but I was surprised that I didn't see much of that during my (admittedly brief) looks elsewhere online. Even if there's plenty, I doubt Production will take much criticism to heart. It's just not their way. Add into the fact that most people (understandably) didn't follow the show closely and relied on clips and summary channels. Those can easily pick events and clips to highlight a narrative that makes the finale look like a well-earned triumph.

Edit: *I mean the chat on fishtank.live

You'll be here, just like the rest of us. Enjoy your stay.
Unless the prod gets raped in court or are pulling an Icuckkkz, it will stay afloat.

Idk about the whole Fishbnb thing, but it is really weird how the show ended and its aftermath... i'm probably wrong but the ending almost felt like Sam was trying to wrap the whole thing asap so everyone can move on (and help Shinji) and forget about it.

Also this, is Sam doing some stand-up show elsewhere so he's not in Rhode island or is he gonna let Shinji and Tj just go home and that's it?

Saw this poll on the fishtank subreddit and found the results interesting. In a poll of 1300 people (a decent size considering the peak viewership was about 10k) 854 voted that season 2 was better than season 1. Just 249 people thought it was worse. I thought season 2 was very enjoyable but let's be real it was a step down from season 1. I'm interested in what you guys have to say about this.
better 1.PNG

The sanest decision would be to let them go home and forget everything about S2. But who knows?

Day 0-16 was a lot better than S1. After that, it was "meh" with some sparks of content. But as soon as Jimbo's departure happened at Day 23, it went to total shit. The exceptions being Frank and the fish fucking with Fatty and the paintball match in the finale.

The finale wasn't bad, it was just a series of challenges, which I don't think anyone had a problem with, Tay and Shinji were always good at challenges and TJ had proven to be surprisingly focused during the finale so nobody minded he was doing well considering the week he had with the rib injury and pinkeye, it was about as equal a platform as you could get to determine a victor. The problems this thread and Fishchat had issue with stemmed from the lead-up into the finale. Jet, Vance and Sam had spent the better part of a week and a half absolutely screwing Tay over one time after another by overturning her achievements in organizing an easier finale for herself by arranging TJ to be elminated instead of Trish. Not only this, they were just trying to make her miserable by having Vance run up and "soy tax" her to steal chips any time she laughed, sang, or had a good time, what may have been a funny one off comedic bit called "soy tax" became a regular occurance that reduced her chip stack by likely a quarter to a third. She did a last minute save that was fucking amazing by stealing TJ's chips but the sudden rule changes on how the NPC worked instantly killed that advantage. Even when she did use NPC effectively it was immediately overturned. During the "make Ben better" challenge she used Brian to eliminate TJ from the challenge only for him to just begin blocking her from interacting with Ben.

The show is decidedly amateurish and loose with rules and that is part of the charm, but the closer it gets to the finale the more firm and structured it needs to be, and it needs to allow the fish's antics and schemes to stand no matter how much they like one fish or another.

On Taylor’s Twitch stream she said, “TJ told me to let you all know he’s fine…. And that’s all I’m going to say about that…” Followed by a bashful laugh. It’s over for TJ already?
