who would have thought? /sneed This is literally a big reason why reality tv shows don't shoot over christmas. especially because its not just the contestants, you also are fucking over the crew doing this. the only two times survivor finished filming after december 10th are considered the worst seasons by both the cast, crew, and viewers. Something in humans really gets shitty around the christmas season and makes everyone fucking miserable. Having only the saddest losers on the planet who would in fact prefer living in a "hell house" vs being with friends and family is going to make this season fucking awful, you really think a Josie or Letty or Jon would not want to be around family during christmas?. I bet the crew isn't going to be happy campers about it either. So if you think you've seen some lazy, shitty crew on fishtank. Get ready for 3 weeks from now. I bet the crew won't even be doing any challanges during dec 22-26 and they'll be maybe 2 crew actually inside the house with the cast that entire time. meaning its a waste of everyones fucking time.
Jet and Sam don't realize that even the terminally online spazes and autists that make up the potential fishtank contestant pool have better family relationships than they do and don't want to be away from them during the holiday season even if they have nothing else going on in their life. Kind of a very large but understated L on their part.

I must vehemently disagree. He was an assault to the eyes and ears to those watching and plus the nose to those who had to be around him. He's completely grotesque and I stopped watching when he showed up, I couldn't do it.
He's a natural content machine that a show like this needs when it gets so late into the show where there's less contestants and not really much going on. Especially when one of your contestants does literally nothing the majority of the time. Whether you find him funny or hate him, he's a necessary evil to keep the show entertaining enough and give SOMETHING for the contestants to riff off of when the contestants themselves barely do anything to or with each other (at the point that chris showed up anyways).

Two things can be true. On the one hand, Chris definitely kept the show going and was better at getting the fish to react compared to other free loaders.

On the other hand, after a few days I really started to loathe anytime he was on screen, to the point that I would stop watching or change the camera feed. His constant screaming would drown out what the other fish were saying. He was disgusting and also annoying when he decided to target Letty and no one else. It went stale fast. And his constant "poor poor pitiful me!"act made me legit hate him. It was karma when he fell down the stairs.

I hope they don't bring him back. Or if they do, it's for a couple of days max.

Vance tells him to pour it on Letty so he sets it aside.
Vance be like, "What Letty did on the show was morally reprehensible and she should be burned at the stake for all of her actions." "Why yes Mr. Hassle, dumping toilet water on Letty is absolutely needed and in no way involves me."

Chris was the equivalent of emergency life support. He was introduced when the show had a massive content gap for around 3 days straight. Did he provide content? Absolutely, but after a while like you said he just began to target Letty. The moment Chris became predictable was when he was when he truly fell off for me. His predictability centered around him targeting Letty and nobody else even when told to by production. At least watching him fall down the stairs and chimp out whenever he received a fraction of the annoying shit he dished out was satisfying.

Wasn't him being an assault on the eyes and ears kind of the purpose of having him on the show in the first place? Bring in the grotesquely obese man child who throws tantrums to stir up shit? I get finding him annoying he for sure was but it's undeniable in terms of keeping the show from getting boring when it was just Vance, Josie and Letty he worked perfectly.

Random, but did the show ever bring up that one black guy beating up his nuts? Was he doing that on purpose as a joke or was he too drunk and forgot he was on camera?

At first, yes. But after awhile he wasn't doing anything but annoying the viewers. Like when he wouldn't stop singing, it made it to where you couldn't hear what the other fish were saying. Or when he didn't know when to stop being annoying, like the time he screamed at Sylvia. At first it was okay, but then it was too much, to where even the dumb fish tank chat was telling him to stfu.

Agreed. Fatty for sure overstayed his welcome. He should have been on the show for a set number of days but because he was homeless he was allowed to stay until the end.

Josie is live on Instagram eating Korean BBQ and gonna do stuff after.
Don't read this as me simping over Jet...
Aside from people in the Black Mamba Twitter spaces, you are the most forgiving towards Jet that I've seen, just saying.
Like others said, episode quality has been extremely polar. Extreme highs, extreme lows, as they swap out editors and crunch for a second season.
What eps have extreme highs?

Regarding Day 33, that was the time I disliked Josie (and Vance) the most. Though I place the blame on Frank and production, if someone is only making one fish's life miserable then the crew, perhaps the director, should fix that unless they truly want a specific fish to leave voluntarily. On the bright side, it helped show Josie will take the path of least resistance and side with "evil" or however you want to frame it. Still wish she got remotely hassled in a gross way.

For fucking real. He was so unsympathetic here I went from just wanting Letty to win more than Vance to actively wanting Vance to lose.

I abbreviated it because it wasn't part of explaining what was so reprehensible that Frank did, but Vance was fucking awful too like I said a few pages back. He followed behind Frank repeating everything Frank said to Letty- "Why are you covered in toilet water?" Vance: "You smell of piss, why are you covered in toilet water?!" like a gay little butt boy.

The "it's karma" thing was a big pivot point in their relationship. Letty had known basically since at least day 13 if not earlier that Vance was not really in an alliance with her, but that if she needed an emotional dumpster, he was willing to listen to her in exchange for some sort of respite from her that he himself never offered to her in return. So she'd outlet all this stuff about her life and fear of Frank and gossip about Jon and in exchange Vance would dunk on her around everyone else and refuse to back her up, and Letty was okay with it because he was playing fair with her in the game and all she needed to keep going was pleasant company (like she said in episode 8, she didn't want to leave the tank because she liked hanging out with everyone).

I think when she dumped piss on his bed he realized that being her irl-friend wasn't working as a defense in the game (why would it have) but even though he would occasionally remind her that he was aggrieved about it he kept on like they were still friends as always, which probably made things worse, because now she really thought "he's disassociated our friendship from our tense status in the game, we're good friends."

Right until Frank started telling him he was a pussy and that he needed to start fucking with Letty and he realized he had a big man telling him what to do, so time to fuck it up and tell her that getting piss and shit water splashed into her eyes mouth and nose is "karma" for her pouring pee onto his mattress, forcing him to go through the gruesome experience of sleeping on a couch for one night.

I'm not saying he needed to turn around and punch Frank in the jaw, but considering he stood there looking tuned out when Frank told Sylvia to get back on heroin, and sat around looking like a spectator when Mauro slapped Chris, the least he could have done is nothing as usual.

And of course the final nail in the coffin is when she said he had been mean to her and that they weren't on speaking terms when they were sleeping in the same room that night, he acted ignorant until she quoted him back, "you said it was karma." And then it's "ohhh, I guess I did say that... I was joking..... well, you did pour pee on my bed...... okay he splashed toilet water in your face but I got shaved (willingly, my own suggestion) today....."

He has no judgements about what's morally reprehensible, he was just mortally offended to be receiving even a fifth the same amount of trouble and strife that other contestants had to face.

If I remember correctly I believe the hatred Vance had for Letty developed as a consequence of his early alliances that he believed would help him win in the future. Vance took the most normie approach to winning a reality TV show, that being ally with people to get the people you don't like eliminated. Vance was first to become buddies with Damiel, Damiel got btfo'd by Jon, and Vance's eyes immediately shifted to getting Jon eliminated. He realized Jon and Letty were close, and that's when those late night talks started where Vance would try to manipulate Letty into ditching Jon to join him and Letty simply wouldn't budge.

I think at that point he knew that Letty was a far bigger threat than Jon and was easier to turn the entire house against, so when Damiel came back he and Vance simply switched to manipulating Jon into siding against Letty because unlike Letty, Jon's a literal retard who will push any friend away simply for attention and acceptance from "the boys".

It got to a point where there wasn't even any strategic benefit to gaslighting other fish/freeloaders into hating Letty, but he did it anyway. The exact same thing he was criticizing Letty of doing he did himself. I remember when Jon told him that he thought Letty was the one who swatted the house and he agreed. So in a way, you could argue that Vance was the one who started Jon's Letty paranoia, even before he was eliminated and had access to twitter. On top of that Vance was the guy most people sided with during the start of the show for being the "normal guy" archetype. So the whole concept of Letty derangement syndrome could have very well originated from him.

At one point late at night Vance, Sylvia, and Josie all huddled together in a room and were talking about how they expected the staff to do gross shit to them, but they all thought it was too far when Letty did it because she was just another fish and they should have some sort of solidarity together through the torture. She was pretty much the only reason poop and pee and started getting smeared all over everything, so you can't really blame them for hating her. I never got why the fans despised her so much though. Yes, she's absolutely disgusting but she was also by far the most entertaining fish during the 2nd half.

Hopefully season 2 will be a perfect mixture of 50% manipulative degenerates like Letty and 50% autistic retards like Jon.

Mmmmm... Actually, when you phrase it that way...

I dunno if you listened to the space where Jet and Frank were fighting, but Frank mentioned that a bag of shit ended up in his stuff and got poo all over his Go Pros, and he blamed production for doing it. Then Vance came forward at the end and said he did it.

Also, the day Frank left when Sylvia and Letty fought over Sylvia "putting Letty's clothes in the trash"? They were there because Sylvia smeared her shit covered ass on her shirt, bra, and jeans.

Letty may have been the first to, I dunno, deposit human waste outside of the bathroom, but they all agreed there was a huge difference between damaging the set or props versus damaging personal property and Letty never crossed that line with shit. And Vance and Sylvia were not above it.

I've seen your posts on this thread, I myself have been trying to document all of Josie's earnings from her streams since the first stream she was able to collect donations on.

Do you have every single stream income archived? Or at the least ballpark numbers on how much she's made since FishTank?

I'd be interested to know what the numbers are

I didn't weigh in on it before, but I'll say it now...

Chris was way too loud and frequently was unable to execute on the producer's commands- he was clearly given a direction to lean on Letty but let it overcome him and almost ruined the show at times with it. He let it overshadow what he was good for, which was to stir up Vance and Josie who would otherwise go on strike all day. He was there to help the show meet the lowest possible bar for content on days when things were going badly, but more often, to me, put a ceiling on where it could go.

Luckily...

I stopped caring that much so haven't ran through earnings in awhile but have most of the data and can get a reasonably accurate measure if I bothered to update my spreadsheet.
I've toned down those posts since season 2 is coming up and it's time to move on.

As for season 2, I suspect Josie will be at least somewhat involved with season 2 early on. She said something is going to happen in prestream on Wednesday, which wasn't a VIP stream, did a highly unusual Instagram Live for no gain, said she'd do karaoke this Saturday, and is bothering to do a stream she'd normally skip due to another obligation. She's never been this accommodating.
I doubt she'll have a full schedule next week (if any) in preparation for season 2 involvement so today's stream may be it for awhile.

Update: Josie abnormally ended her stream with "See ya soon!" instead of "See ya never!" That might seem like nothing but it was deliberate, that stream is almost certainly the last one for some time.

As much as I enjoyed Chris on season 1 I'm glad he's not coming back. As many of you guys have already pointed out he overstayed his welcome on the show and we've basically seen all he has to offer. The meltdowns, the grotesque body horror shit, the flirting I don't think there is much he could add that we didn't see multiple times already during season 1. Bringing him back would be a cheap gimmick.
