I will go back and include this in the original post as well but it's worth noting Josie said she'll be sticking around Rhode Island for "a week or two." She's in no hurry to go home, it seems.
I know we've been making this joke nonstop in the chat but I need to make it here in the thread - if Vance had known that the unwritten reward for placing first or second in Fishtank was to spend 3 weeks chumming around with Sam he would have thrown the chair with Josie attached down the stairs when he had the chance. He would have dragged her limp body across the kitchen and called it the trail of tears. He would have farted on her corpse and called it the colors of the wind. And then he would have covered her with a smallpox blanket.
When he was the first to shoot in WP2 of the fish he was like, giddy. Letty kept asking him where he went that day and he wouldn't say, so she had him go into the bathroom in B4 and he was practically skipping and holding his cheeks on his way back out while she was like "Oh my goood, wowww..." Little did he know even Sylvia would eventually be in it.
He was fooled into thinking the grand prize was $35k and go home but if Josie had ever clearly explained to him the offer they had made her about sticking around and learning to stream he would have dropped the "nice guy" thing and become an animal, no doubt. And we were saying, even if he had taken second or first, they probably would've sent him home anyway cuz they don't seem to think he actually needs this kind of help, lol. He'd turn into Spongebob listing off all the manners in which he is a baby for his Grandma so they baby him and make him cookies, too.
I just wanted to show off what I've been using Shotcut for, I missed a lot of days but using the Racist Cat archive and shotcut I basically fashioned a crude Fishtank emulator. The clips in every room in Racist Cat's archive are all cut at the same places and times so there's no worry about synching the rooms up at all. I just mute and hide the rooms I'm not watching and then unmute and unhide the room I want to move to. I think there's some desync by a few seconds but it's the same desync that was apparent when the show was live.
Some downsides: shotcut is not very powerful and some of these clips are four hours long, it's dutifully putting up with it as long as I just plug the clips in and remove them as I go, but my dream of making a "perfect cut" is pretty much dead unless I convert 1,488 hours of MKVs into MP4s so that Vegas will play nice with them. Not happening, lol.
edit: some more pre-arrival junk, they talk about taking Sylvia through a McDonald's drive thru and then yelling at her for bringing food into the house, and spamming the Snack fishtoy at her. Jet then says production has to be nice to her but that they will be buying snacks and pretending it's the audience, lol.

final edit: I used Shotcut for all the pre-arrival day 1 stuff and so far it's been perfect for it, so if you're weird like me I would highly recommend this method if you want to see a day you missed or a moment you can't find a clip of. I think the final edit of the show is gonna be good for watching
Fishtank, the Show, but since most of the clip channels made pretty arbitrary decisions or annoying choices in how they captured things, or probably missed a moment you thought was funny but nobody else liked, this is probably the way to experience a rerun of any given part of
Fishtank.Live.
