I was going to make a long effort post but it just looks like I'm autistic so I'll just say they shouldn't bring any fish back for a real season of fishtank, not for production, contestant or freeloader. For the half season LARPs, sure but not the actual show.

I just wanted to make sure I archived this to the thread.
This is the clip where Mike(Goblin) said that Production used a sock account (Aperture) to make him keep doing the Goblin character and I assume to do other funny bits.

WHEN DOES JOSIE SHOW UP?

We need a war .5 season have Jace be a general like the great war split two teams vietnamese trolling over the speakers
Great idea. Another airsofting woods thing but a war-themed season hosted by The Commander and Stoven with two teams of 6. Doesn't even have to be all stars. Fishtank Laser Wars.

Season 2 showed that repeat bits like Fatty, Frank and Stein, even doing the same opening of the show where they count rice, are just less and less entertaining each time.
While I think repeating bits and freeloaders does have diminishing content returns over time it's less egregious if the Fish aren't already in the know. Repeating bits in season two sucked especially bad because the Fish already knew about FishTank and weren't taken by surprise, if anything they enjoyed it as if it was a FishTank fan meetup. I'll give season 2.5 and exception just because it was a different narrative entirely. The point wasn't to shock the Fish and gauge their reaction but to create a funny larp scenario with past characters.

what's crazy is how they come across when they do it. when sam says rude shit to people's faces he comes across as a resentful faggot, like whatever it is is the one thing he would forcibly change about that person and if they don't change it he'll hate them forever and that he regrets casting them because of that one flaw that they have

when xavier makes fun of people it's a joke between himself and the audience and sometimes the fish don't even catch it and are just standing there smiling like ":) sour faced faggot? who's a sour faced faggot?" it's way better and results in less of those retarded mean-mugging moments where sam is maintaining eye contact with some guy as though the insult is going to change them on a dime
Great point, and in life thats generally one of the most effective ways to fuck with someone. An insult is an insult, and you will react to it as you will. But when youre not sure if youre being insulted, thats the shit that can make ya act a little cooky.

Tay dancing around and soying out at Sam referencing shit made me physically ill.

Better reaction than getting no-sold by JC who found Sam to be the lamest fucking person she ever met in her life when he was smashing shit. I don't even know what people expect the reaction to be when they complain about Tay being happy Sam was smashing shit. They didn't cower in fear or have any dramatic reaction to the cabinets getting smashed in S1, it was just a thing that happened that hardly anyone paid attention to.

Humor is subjective so this is just my opinion but Sam smashing shit trying to provoke a reaction and a fish just looking on in disgust is funnier to me then Tay fangirling out.

The thing I most hope for Season 3 post 2.5 is that they learn that the show is much better when they plan ahead and stick to it.

They didn't completely do that in 2.5, but they did a lot better. I'm pretty sure soda jew was there to be able to improve stuff on the fly, and I don't know if he's suited to a reality house setting, but having SOMEONE like that on staff is a must. They aren't going to be able to predict how things go wrong, or something works that they never saw coming, and Jet and the Wiggers are not up to that task. They're more along the lines of High Schoolers that were asked to recreate the Abu Dabi Prison scandal.

Other things I'd like to see:
- For the love of god, monetize something other than smokes. Sitting a round for an hour and half while People are reading Superchats in names, getting cigarettes they don't want, fucking sucks.
- No gaslighting the Fish, no trying to make drama by telling them to fuck with each other, friend tank is a lot more interesting than lethargy tank.(they did at least feed them better this season)
- Butler Xavier Ravensblood.

I definitely agree with all your points.

I'm pretty sure he said he's a "writer" and a few people have said there's a "writer's room" now.
I don't know how necessary that would be for a house setting because they aren't going to pack the house with tons of NPCs with scripted backstories but at least having a guy on staff whose job it is to remember who fucks with each other and who doesn't and what kinds of bits would actually work on a guy instead of falling flat would be great to have. Like to avoid sending ben up to go, idk, "today can you write a play for everyone to perform" and the guy goes "i just write poetry though" (ben &tj in s2)
would also help with longform things like the cult or the host so that whatever the next Goldstriker character is he's not yet another bossy asshole with a silly accent

definitely agreed. people only buy cigs for shout-outs anyway. i keep saying they need to swap out the quest system and the clan bank system for crowdfunding individual fishtoys ex. donating 50 ft to a goal of 800 ft for "loot crate for bob" until people manage to fund. it has been a great idea since s1 that hasn't been implemented.

- No gaslighting the Fish, no trying to make drama by telling them to fuck with each other
they can still do this they just can't do it the way they have been which is pull people aside and say "fuck this guy over because he's your competition and that should be reason enough" when people already have cemented alliances that that would step on.
just say, "look. i know you miss your girlfriend back home. what we need is for bob to take the fall in the next challenge. if you can fuck him over you get to call your girlfriend, deal?"
that way "production told me to" doesn't mean anything. they had a choice. they need to have had a choice or else it sucks. when bob sees his opponent standing around on the phone with his gf after tripping him in a challenge he'll know he got sold out and for what and there won't be an excuse. and it doesn't have to be money (they only ever lied in s1 about paying people to get each other out anyway) or game currency (not an organic motivator).

they did this really well in 2.5, people were constantly selling the team out in the short term because they weren't thinking of how it would impact the team long term or they didn't care that it would.

I'm still bummed about Cole.
It was hard not to enjoy his antics while on the show, but I especially liked him a lot after therapy night when it was apparent he was the only actual adult in the Tank, but he's since squandered that promise and just day drinks these days. I know his prior history before Fishtank but at least he had a sense of actual life.

This provides a further thought of, let's be honest, the only people on Fishtank, they're UberEats drivers, waiters, or some guy who works in a boiler room. The rest are NEETs or survive off of their 15 minutes of fame. No real prospects.

A general rule for Production starting drama should be nudge, don’t push. Production should never outright tell a Fish to start drama, but should influence them through assigning tasks. Trish kissing Brian and JC stealing chips resulted in plenty of drama content and both originated from orders by Production, yet they still had enough leeway to make it seem like these tasks were natural. Things start to go downhill when Production is more direct like during the CK and Brian debacle or the telling Fish to ring the beef bell.

Better reaction than getting no-sold by JC
Wasn't JC the only non-plant of season 2? I remember her being special because she didn't know what any of this was, which might have been why she was fine with leaving to save Cole. I appreciate her reactions with other fish, but I hope we don't get more people like her in season 3. I'm hopeful but worried about the casting company bringing in 'normal' people like JC
