It's a little more than just pacifism for some people. I won't spoil obviously, but Gaiden Celica is slightly different than Echoes Celica and certain events of her route are very different from the original. A certain character on her route doesn't exist in Gaiden that sort of weakens Celica as a character and the lack of ambiguity that resulted from console limitation on the NES no longer exist on the 3DS. And also the ending of her route frustrates a lot of people.

Gaiden Celica isn't some Feminist icon of video games or anything, it's just that some of the changes made between Gaiden and Echoes can be really iffy.

That's totally fair. Pacifist characters can work if the challenges of their worldview are dealt with well. Not if they annoyingly lecture other characters for accepting moral hazard.
the thing is, even when things are going to shit, she still trusts Jedah to keep his promise, despite the creepy vibes he's giving off.

I think it teeters on fine but she does get preachy, justifiably in character since she was a priestess raised on a monastary tbh.

And then her reaction to seeing Alm for the first time since they were little kids was to have that spazz out about pacifism lmfao.
To be fair, without giving much away, Celica had a vague vision that Alm was in danger which is part of why she spazzes out, so it isn't solely "muh pacifism". It is more that Celica believes her solution will save Alm. Alm also makes it worse with his lines slandering royalty reasonably offending Celica. Those lines I can't tell if they are there justifiable (Alm isn't that anti-royalty like say Python) or just to further stir the drama pot.

It also doesn't help that Alm ends up doing all the rights things while Celica seems to just make worse and worse decisions as the plot continues. So Celica's reaction to Alm doesn't feel like it was deserved by the end of the game.

Do you want more content, including a new house, stand-alone DLC, and a few more classes? Then buy.
Just so @UtadaWasabi2 knows, the new house is only 4 characters and a 7 chapter campaign. It isn't an entirely new route. Imo it isn't enough for 25 USD after I already beat everything before it came out and the new campaign isn't that great by itself. The rest of the DLC is fluff like maid outfits and stat boosters. The new classes are fun but this game sucks to replay so meh.

it has a bisexual dude named Yuri for meme potential.

I mean it's nintendo DLC. It's generally pricey, but I'd say that you shouldn't forget that Anna is also a DLC character too iirc.

Also it boosts the female classes by giving two more amazing options. Granted, the female classes were kinda shit outside of bow knight/gremory/fliers.

Females were amazing before this, males got dicked because no level 10 flier option with Pegasus (Daring blow is also powerful) and Cavalier got nerfed a lot in 3H as their only possible mount option. War Master/Grappler is a funny meme class to have one for funny gauntlet damage, but they are not exceptional powerful due to foot movement. The new classes made females even better because flying mages shouldn't be a thing with how overpowered fliers generally are because now your casters can keep pace with your wyverns. Females were already the better gender which is why female Byleth is a better unit then male Byleth.

Anna is also a pretty worthless addition because she gets barely any content, she doesn't even have supports with anyone even Byleth. She has some join dialogue, a paralogue, and pretty whatever growths. Otherwise she merely exists. Nintendo DLC is alright generally speaking, but FE DLC has always been trash Awakening DLC was trash, Fates DLC was embarrassing with Rev, SoV DLC was decent at best from what I remember, and 3H DLC is pretty bad too.

They join the main game after tho iirc

They do, but they barely contribute. They don't really give a ton of input and their inclusion is awkward because they just forget you exist when you go to recruit them due to IS wanting to let them be recruitable at level 1. They have a few supports and that is about it.

You guys are also forgetting Jeritza who, in my opinion, is probably the best DLC character out of the bunch. He's kind of like a strong mid to late game promoted unit like Percival. He comes with distant counter with his personal class and he has some pretty nice combat arts. His crest is pretty worthless but it's not like crest activation is that useful or reliable.

I find the Shackled Wolves to be kinda eh. Yuri at best is above average, Hapi is similar to Hubert and Lysithea but without dark spikes, and Constance is only good for bolting. Their inclusion in the main game doesn't bother me that much since I always viewed CS to be Fates' tier fanfic that exist outside of the main game's continuity. Gameplay-wise I find CS to be missed potential. It's nice that they want to limit resources like in the older games, but it's not so nice when they don't give you any replacement units thus defeating the point of classic mode.

While Dark Flier and Valkyrie are pretty great, they do have relatively low ammo compared to Gremory. They're pretty fun to mess around with though.

Also, I don't really like the DLC costumes and I wish IS/Koei did more like give Flayn and Seteth clothes that they likely wore back then. It's annoying that they recolored Felix and Petra's clothes and sold it as DLC. It's even more annoying that the summer wear is what allows you to wear monastery clothes on non-canonical mounted classes.

the tldr of any FE dlc is "buy it if you want, but be aware that it usually just means a few characters, classes, maps, and some cosmetics."

3H is an oddball because it's been a decade since we got a console FE.

Is Jeritza even DLC? I thought you got him for free because he was likely intended to be there, but deadlines happened. I already completed CF by the time he came out and I swear I remember someone who didn't buy the DLC use him.

I checked and he is in fact a free unit. I think what threw me off was that he wasn't playable until the free update and that SF put him under the DLC exclusive area. It doesn't help that I own a copy that already has the expansion pass.

Should I buy three houses expansion pass?
One thing that has not been said but might interest you, possibly, is that the new characters and new supports represent sort of the final word on many of the base game characters. And that's interesting. What IS thought was missing or deserved further emphasis.

Only Fire Emblem DLC that has been worth it for me, imo, is the Future Past DLC of Awakening simply because it was more of the characters and story I loved so much, even if the timetravel shit with Naga is a bit fuck-y.

Other than that, Fire Emblem has been shitting the bed with garbage expansions and DLC packs since they became an option. You'd think they'd get it right eventually, but nothing is particularly worth pointing out.

Amiibo giving free stuff in Fire Emblem games is better DLC than the DLC.

Well this thread is dead. I think I hate myself enough for this though.

Who is...Best Girl?

I don't think any of the women in FE are very "waifu-able", as that is how most "best girl" discussions go, so I'll just say my favorite female as far as their actual character goes. Jill from Ike's games is probably my favorite female character in Fire Emblem.

Lorenz, I mean what’s not to like?

My pfp says it all.

Similar to Zeke's approach, my favorite female characters is probably the entire female cast of gen 1 of FE4. Especially Deirdre and Lachesis.

Niime and Ilyana are definitely up there too.

I don't really care about personality. I care about the juicy stats and gameplay.
Gonzales,Odin,Niles,Raph and Hanneman are my waifus (both archers).

More seriously design wise I love Rinkah.

Even more seriously I am married I have a wife I don't have a waifu that's stupid :stress:
