Were there even strategy guides in English that told you how to get it?
Nintendo Power did. But since it's by Nintendo Power, it's mainly just the maps, the reinforcement triggers, and the prerequisites for unlocking the side chapters

Speaking of reinforcements, who thought it was a good idea to have ambush spawns? Like Reinforcements that move the turn they spawn in?

Update on the Blue route. Fought at the hills you fight at the beginning,
whooped ass, managed to use one of those red team bosses to keep yellow team busy while Dimitri whooped Edelgard's ass. Then rodrigue got shanked, Dimitri finally broke down, softened his heart, and we took back the Kingdom to the applause of the people. THIS is the anime story bullshit I live for! The fights were also really fun, every character felt important and got a moment to shine. That's fucking good game design damn it.

Yeah, but that's more or less one of the few high points for that route.

But this is certainly the last level that does something of this scale.
Even so, it was worth it all. The hype was real man. Now it's just going to fight the Empire

It certainly isn't perfect (none of the routes are), but I highly enjoyed the Blue Lion route as well. Was actually the third route I played, but ended up being my favorite by far. I still think it continues being good after the moment you talked about, including the ending. But, I tend to be pretty easy to please and can look past issues if I'm enjoying myself.

Yeah like none of the routes are perfect but I enjoy them all even if they have their fair share of problems.

Blue Lions is my favorite mainly because Dimitri is the best character in the game.

Crimson Flower is a close second because of the perspective flip, but falls short due to the Lizard people and being shorter than the other routes.

Verdant Wind is great for the synergy of the Golden Deer, even if it is similar to Silver Snow. But in a perfect world, Verdant wind could have elements combined with the first half of the Golden Deer route from Three Hopes.

Silver Snow is decent, like it works well for Edelgard and the Church People. Though personally it feels elevated due to Rhea's S-Support which should've really been in the main story of Silver Snow than just a support. Only because there was a lot of character development and closure hidden behind it that would've benefitted the story, and none of the other S Supports with a respective lord elicits that feeling.

Blue Lions is arguably the 'Classic FE Story" route and it shows, but I can appreciate it. They also get points for dealing with the Dubstep Death Cult completely by accident - no seriously, the Agarthan subplot completely fucks off in that route post timeskip, but they still kill every named Agarthan.

Black Eagles gets some points, mostly for the perspective flip. Shit on Fates as I do, it deserves it, Conquest letting you actually be the bad guy was a nice change - same logic mostly applies here. Also gets bonus points for implying that even without Byleth the Empire was going to win anyway, but loses points for ignoring dealing with the Dubstep Death Cult.

Golden Deer and the Church share the same post timeskip route, and honestly I feel like they should've swapped their final battles. You can tell which routes were added late...

. However; from a real-world political science perspective, her winning just makes things worse for everyone.
Speaking of which, really need an villain protagonist. What they regularly come out with is fun, but starts to feel fake and gay if all it takes to be on the right side of history is some legendary weapons that were wielded by an group of teenagers
