Your post above mine seeks to suggest violent thoughts toward me. I assumed it was a joke in the interest of fair play.

I think it’s open-ended and I don’t think you approached it as a discussion. Hence why I was derided for offering a counter-proposal.

Perhaps I should be more clear on this point: I think Edelgard is the villain, but that many of her critics have a vapid obsession with “following da roolz” in the same way her fans have a homosexual obsession with breaking them. That it’s sort of an intra-bugman conflict where any breach of the day’s order cannot by definition be worth it.

It goes back to my critique of Black Eagles where they don’t commit to the Faustian nature of what that route purports to be about. So I do see arguments about Edelgard’s specific characteristics as bait but not the central core disagreement (which I think is better represented in another character anyway).
Alright, that's fair; and, it's probably more in line with how the writing staff intends it to work out. I, on the other hand reached the end of Crimson flower and thought "Yo, the crazy bitch killed a bunch of people, outed the previous aristocracy, and put forward a somewhat dictatorial, secular regime. This feels like how the USSR got its start." Obviously, the parallels are nothing more than coincidental, the writing staff did not have the fall of the Russian Empire in mind when writing it beyond maybe borrowing the red color scheme. But, when I hear people say shit like "necessary sacrifice" or "for the greater good", I kinda feel compelled to step in and say "nah fam, this 'ain't gonna work out." Because, that's kinda my thing, I read about this shit.

sigh. Flaming Insignias still has a chip on his shoulder from me saying Billy would agree with me.
I think he's cool for no other reason than he agrees with me.

I wish something actually cool would happen with Fire Emblem lately so we weren't just shitposting to keep this thread alive.
We could just pivot over to another strategy game for a week for shits and giggles. Yo, come to Kiwi Farms, where all we do in the Fire Emblem thread is talk about Sengoku Rance.

Genealogy Remake will be announced any day now, just keep the copium at a high concentration.
I'm kind of confused on why so many people seem to want a Genealogy remake. The original game is fine and I would rather see something brand new then a game I already played.

Because a Genealogy remake a la Echoes of Valencia would literally be every single Fire Emblem's fan fantasy come true. It's the one "big" game that hasn't been officially released outside Japan, so it would be a big deal.

They literally just need to keep the writing to a 1/1 ratio and Nintendo would print so much money they'd have to burn it all to get rid of it.

Even outside our little circle., retro SNES guys kind of regard it alongside Seiken Densetsu 3 as "One of the really good JRPGs that never got imported".

Yeah. The most activity we got was when Mangs got cancelled and how we had to sift through all the bullshit and the allegations.

Engage was a dud in so many ways that it fucked over everyone in the community. Like no one was giving any fucks about it now.

Well Genealogy is kinda a Holy Grail for Fire Emblem even if it is a very janky mess. The Rescue Mechanic would not come till the next game and it is HEAVILY needed with how big the maps are and foot-locked units have little mobility to make up for it.

Gold also is locked to each specific party member and you cannot trade like in the usual games but pawn off equipment and items and buy back to resemble a Trade System. Gold cannot be traded unless with a Thief Class or by a Supported Party Member. So there is a lot that will filter out many players.

I think Thracia of all games would be better received since that game was where Rescue and Fog of War came out. Plus the way they did Critical Hits is also pretty awesome.

I'mma say it. I think Genealogy's trade mechanics are really cool. It's kinda like Majora's Mask where there are all these high impact resources dotted throughout the game, and when you get them and who you give them to first adds a layer of strategy and player expression that isn't really replicated elsewhere in fire emlem, or even other strategy games.

Thracia didn't have a child mechanic or the sheer scale of Genealogy maps, which often spanned whole countries and could constitute 4 chapters in a normal Fire Emblem. It's a good game, but the story and unique gameplay of Genealogy cannot be understated.

I’ll be forced to escalate into much worse discourse. Tbh I’m not sure what could top equating being groomed with opening an Onlyfans or suggesting it’s like a false rape accusation to dislike a man’s advances.

Which is what was said at the last great flame war where I’m totally wrong according to my fact-challenged opposition.

Oh yeah I totally forgot about that part of the game. I remember it being annoying to have to use the thief as a middle man to transfer money to get some units new weapons. I know some people seem to like it but I would be ok if they changed it to make it more like the other games in the series. Hm... maybe a remake is starting to sound more reasonable to me now.
