The characters look like they were created with some sort of crappy anime character creator with sliders for hair and skin color.
Just looks soulless.

Y’know, I feel like I’ve dodged a bullet deciding to pass on this game on launch.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got a remarkable tolerance for “Cringe Weeb Shit”, but I played Fates. I actively wanted to brain everyone in the Army Bloat Path (Revelations). If the writing is actually somehow worse that that, then Jesus Fuck.

Might consider picking it up if it ever goes cheap - it’s First Party Nintendo, so lul on that - but my only expectation would be that it pulls The Room where it’s so bad it somehow loops back to being good.

Yeah it'll never go for cheap. Plus I don't want to be bother fucking around with an emulator so I'll probably pick up a copy today. My expectations are super low tho. I'm guess it'll at least it'll be better than Fates, but who even knows.

Somewhat thankfully, my work does a monthly 20% off for employees, might consider grabbing it then.

I’m expecting nothing and I’ll probably still be disappointed. Who’d’ve thought a Marvel Game (Midnight Suns) would scratch the strategic RPG itch better than Fire Emblem…

I'd upload my switch firmware for everyone to use to get yuzu running. But, the farms already get enough heat without me uploading strictly copyrighted files.

Is there anyone in dragon mommy mikoto's castle.

I swear it was fully empty, no guard, no maids, no general, no advisor etc.

That gurl was so lonely she had to make friends/guards out of mud for your mock battle and she talks to a ring.

I mean if my ring had Sigurd in it I'd talk to it every day.
Edit as to not double post: I decided to bite the bullet and pre order just because I am a whore for Genealogy and Thracia and honestly the gameplay itself does make up for lackluster story and characters. Though I guess I have pretty high tolerance for stuff cause outside of Moronica's shrill earrape loli voice making my ears bleed the dub has been tolerable for me.

This game is pure camp. I can see why people would hate it since fire emblem usually takes itself seriously but the genealogy remake is right around the corner and everyone has a million reasons to be depressed without that clusterfuck. I think I'll buy it on discount.

I'm only 4 hours in which is a bit too soon to say anything properly meaningful about it, but I'm quite okay with the game so far. Hard/Classic playthrough although it's possible to change the difficulty to Lunatic (once you get into the base in the sky) if I feel things will get too easy.

Since @AWarmToiletSeat may have not seen it due of playing a pirated copy, online mode also enables the "souls of war victims" feature on level maps. Moving an unit to a panel where white souls reside (of ally units killed in other people's playthroughs) will give a bonus of experience points while the purple ones (from enemy units often killed in that location) give an item.

I don't want to bang an 11 year old so I'm actually ok in theory with editing the romance conversations in Engage if it was done in a natural way that made sense and didn't take you out of the game.

That being said I saw some of the localized convos on Twitter and they're terrible. They basically take every unique conversation and replace it with.

"I am a child and under the age of consent."

It sounds awful and completely out of place in a medieval fantasy game.

Would it be that hard to write a few lines about how they deeply care for you as a leader/mentor/combat veteran or whatever?

This is probably the laziest localization I've ever seen and I can't believe they did this after the Fates localization disaster.

The story is garbage and the characters are hollow.

I kinda miss the awakening and fates support at this point. (and most of those were bad)
Everyone is so bland, every support feels the same.
Everyone is training, sipping tea and being nice and bland.
Awakening and fates's characters were more over the top but supports had a more defined dynamic and conflict.

I am beggining to just skip the story cutscenes it's really boring and bland.

The gameplay and map feel fair and good on hard (I am at chapter 10)
Kinda miss class changing tho.
You only get permanent skills from emblems so no need to go hero to grab sol then berserk for axefaire and finish with warrior for example

The somniel is pretty useless after a bit. I think most people will just go to the arena, grab a bite and check their emblem between battles.
The rest is not that usefull.

I am trying to use Xander because it's funny but the exp calculation changed. I reclassed him to a tier 1 class and he still gains xp ultra slowly and is weak compared to CHADS in my team.

Also does anyone know how to get to wyvern lord as a male since you can't go axe/sword/lance flyer?
Also do you get more deployment slots later?
I assumed it was 12-14 because it's the number for most games and you know 12 rings.

Wait what?

You can't change classes? What did you mean by this? Is it sort of like... FFVI where everyone can learn everything given enough time?

It's there, you still can but there's very little sense on doing so.

You might change class once but it's about it.

You don't gain class skills so you have no reason to switch classes multiple times to make your character stronger.

Does this have any implications for the game's longevity and replayability? Or are there other systems to keep you going?
