Hmm, I'm less concerned about Normal since that's rarely difficult at all, but if Hard is similarly neutered...damn. I'm glad I didn't preorder this. I'm also assuming Maddening is unfun bullshit like it always is.

I'm a few chapters into this thing and so far my impressions are... Not good. Like, it's functional as a tactical rpg, but we've sunk below fates in the writing department. All the avatar worship is there in full force and there's literally nothing defining the supporting characters from what I can glean. I've only seen two support conversations so far, so that can change. But as far as background details and driving motivations, I do not fucking know.
Also, do yourself a favor and turn off the English voice acting on the title screen. That shit is un-fucking listenable.
I'll report back on hard if I think it's worth it.Hmm, I'm less concerned about Normal since that's rarely difficult at all, but if Hard is similarly neutered...damn. I'm glad I didn't preorder this. I'm also assuming Maddening is unfun bullshit like it always is.
So just don't buy the game? Yeah. I kinda had a feeling this would be a dud. Didn't think it would be THAT bad.
Update on that. Might be an emulator bug; but, I'm pretty sure the game has a memory leak issue. It gets less stable the longer I play it.It does sound like the game functions though, which will probably be enough for people to buy it. Even if was unpolished as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, people would still buy it. Then again, if it was Battlefield 2042 launch levels of broken, then that would be a different story.
Is the map editor any good? They did advertise that as a feature. Something about tower challenges in the trailer.Update on that. Might be an emulator bug; but, I'm pretty sure the game has a memory leak issue. It gets less stable the longer I play it.
Haven't seen it yet. I'm around 8 chapters in.Is the map editor any good? They did advertise that as a feature. Something about tower challenges in the trailer.
I'd be wary about the writing quality in the english translation, since a lot of things get rewritten with characterization outright changed and implications lost from the original japanese script. While Fates and Awakening were notorious examples, Echoes & Three Houses were not much different either. I don't doubt Engage is the same on that regard.I'm a few chapters into this thing and so far my impressions are... Not good. Alright, the regular tower stuff unlocks after chapter 11. There are no regular combat rewardsfor tackling it, instead you get materials for upgrading the weapons your emblems come with. You can do the co-op and vs challenges before that. But, I don't want to connect to wifi while playing this game because I might get some strange emails from Nintendo if I do. So, I won't really be able to answer this fully. Is the map editor any good? They did advertise that as a feature. Something about tower challenges in the trailer.
In the trailer it basically said that the online features were limited to just sharing and receiving other player generated maps with some item drops for completing challenges.Alright, the regular tower stuff unlocks after chapter 11. Well here's what the menu says.In the trailer it basically said that the online features were limited to just sharing and receiving other player generated maps with some item drops for completing challenges.
Since I'm deliberately not connecting to wifi features, I can only offer a guess. I think, since they're borrowing the names of the multi-player features from the mobile game, it's going to follow that format where you build a team, send it to a friend, and the AI controls it.Anything about local PvP or is it just an challenge run with the map editor?
That's kind of gay, if it turns out to be true.it's going to follow that format where you build a team, send it to a friend, and the AI controls it.
I fucking hate this game. Its everything wrong with dubs in one package. You don't even have to watch past the first cutscene before that "WE WON THE GAME YEAHHHHHHH!" in the very first cutscene cringe from Warriors seems to be leaking into the mainline titles now.Game has been popping up on YouTube, voice acting isn't as emotional as I'd expect
