How’s the game looking for you as a whole? Debating if I should get it or not, because I thought Three Houses was enjoyable.
I'm having lots of fun to be honest. Unsure if I'll enjoy playing all three routes as much as I did Three Houses. It comes down to a simple question: is not having White Clouds *better* than relatively simple characters whose struggles are basically done or much quieter than before.

Gameplay-wise, I believe the first FE Warriors is better. This game feels much slower with attacks from what I have played. Characters also lack individuality it appears as move sets are based on class.

Story-wise:
Edelgard and Claude benefit it seems as El is given more victories that make her not look shady as fuck or a complete tard in how she deals with TWISTD. Claude is much more of an ass and can be genuinely unlikeable as is willing to fuck others over. This is a large improvement for him as he is no longer Mr. Perfect and can now be criticized as harshly as El and Dimitri. Dimitri on the other hand gets dick sucked into being the hero, stripping him of the fall and feral phase most like him for.

I am pretty early on though, and most of my story critiques come from cutscenes I have watched.

>does Scarlet Blaze on NG+
>uses Ferdinand's musou skill for the first time
>Billy Kametz delivers a god tier performance with the obligatory line
It isn't fair, why did it have to be him and not someone like Monica or Jamie or Schemmel
Nooo stop it now I'm sad......

So I'm hearing mixed things. Apparently Sothis is bitchy now, Claude got Edelgarded, haven't heard how she and Dimitri routes are hopefully they're fun

IS themselves admitted at one point they where really unhappy with how good they had made Claude look in comparison to Edelgard and Dimitri but honestly it does feel like they went a bit too far to compensate.

I'm interested, because I can't fathom how you make Claude as bad as those two at their low points without breaking his character, what exactly makes Claude an asshole in this game?

Quite bluntly, he goes all in on backstabbing, allying with the Empire to attack the Central church with the explicit goal of killing Rhea, and then at one notable point has Randolph used as bait so he can then kill Catherine. Yeah, Warriors Claude went from not grey enough to full-blown asshole whose only real point of nuance is that he does apparently believe in self-determination.

I'm really not looking forward to doing Golden Wildfire tbh, I hate seeing what they did to Claude but at the same time I am a Hilda fan and she is exclusive to it fml

While I think him being a backstabber and a bit ruthlessly pragmatic is fine and works, allying with Edelgard doesn't feel right for his character irregardless of how good/bad Edelgard actually is with all the facts. This ruins one of the big points of contention and deflates Edelgard of all things, because in my mind Edelgard had to fight by herself and ally with mole people solely because no one else would side with her. But if Claude does, then why the fuck did the mole people need to be here? Because Edelgard effectively controls half the military in Fodlan if Claude joins.

I know Claude was supposedly more of a cynic pessimist in the JP script, so this might just lean into that more, but as we know FE localizations kind of suck ass nowadays so we don't see that.

Can’t sway Ferdinand in azure gleam?
Nope, he's one of the characters expanded into the loyalist circle for Edelgard, alongside Monica and strangely enough Caspar. Of course, the Faerghus Three also become Lion-exclusive, so I guess they took some of the most patriotic characters and made them route-exclusive for the sake of gameplay and to show how not having as much time at Garreg Mach makes them default to country rather than personal grievances.
