I don't think El is some heroic revolutionary or even really that concerned with social justice, but her declaration of war reeked of anti-aristocratic and anti-clerical rhetoric. There is certainly a theme of Edelgard utilizing revolutionary rhetoric to make her war of aggression sound justified, and then making herself into a dictator with a small circle of advisors being the only sort of check on her power.Not sure I agree with calling Edelgard disliking the church and old hierarchy SJW. Napoleon was like that. And she’s likened to Napoleon.
