Dani Doyle is a turbo fag. I saw his video on Vision Quest awhile ago and he made this huge virtue signal about the hacks script using the word "Savage" basically pearl clutching over it as if the script said NIGGER
Yeah, he's also got minors he grooms into troonery on his discord server. I remember someone dug up info about how he uses his real name for youtube, but also that he works in education and that his father is a very very rich man.

I'd dig it up if it pops up again, but I'm a bit lazy. The TLDR is that he's a failson troon groomer that couldn't even maintain a job in education in Massachussets and considers working doordash to be hard.

Welp, I know what im spamming the next time the algorithm sends him my way. Ty sir!

After completing a FE game a couple times, I will usually look up dialogues and pairings that I didn't do to get a better understanding of the overall story/characters. There is a super interesting conversation right from the beginning of the game that I missed between Quan and Ayra, discussing the inception of the continental war.

Basically, the war that kicks off the entire plot of the game, even before Sigurd's prologue battle, is conducted under extremely suspicious circumstances based on numerous misunderstandings. Much like the lead up to WWI, with questionable assassinations likely instigated by (((malicious third parties))), everything begins to spiral out of control too quickly and soon armies are on the move. By the moment of the very first player phase in the game the situation is already fucked up beyond repair. Ayra's father and brother are both killed by this point, and she's essentially resigned herself to raising Shannan alone in the hope that one day he can fix things in Isaac.

The conversation also establishes that Quan's father King Kalf knew Ayra's relatives and spoke highly of them, FE4 is full of great little world building discussions like this. Ayra explains that she hasn't told Sigurd about any of the details leading up to the Isaac campaign, implying the conversation will stay secret between Quan and her, meaning it was likely lost to time following chapter 5.

treehouse localization
People need to realize that games like Awakening had the same senior staff as the Gamecube and GBA games did. The reality is that the style of Fire Emblem shifted starting with Awakening. It’s not just a Treehouse problem. Fates is worse off though because those senior members left or were on other projects.

Im

Funny enough im about to start Dream of Five. Where do you feel it fell short?
Having only played one route, I felt the game drags out too long. It's hard to put out 32 *good* chapters. This is more evident in endgame, which is a bit too bloated for my liking. I consider myself pretty fast-paced when it comes to playing FE at this point but, a lot of the chapters towards the endgame feel stacked with too many enemies and take forever to complete. The story also suffers for it because with as many chapters as it has, a fair amount of it ends up feeling like filler just for you to do something. Don't get me wrong, the story is still great, and at least one of the villains is probably among the most compelling I've seen in a hack. But by Chapter 27 or so I recall wishing it was over already. Drums of War, which comes in at 18 chapters, feels like a much tighter experience, where the quality feels a lot more consistent rather than whiplash. I think Andaron Saga and DLATMOL also sort of suffer from having too many chapters, but not as bad as Do5 or especially something like Vision Quest.

Again though, Do5 is still worth playing. I think it's still one of the better hacks out there. To my understanding it was started a bajillion years ago back when Fire Emblem hacking was still in its early inception. Things like FEEditor didn't exist and you were stuck using cumbersome hex editors like Nightmare. Only recently did Parhessia and team take it over and finally give it a definitive edition and ending. For fun, you can actually still see those old videos of Do5 on YouTube back when it was still on FE7 and compare it to the modern edition.

Path of Radiance just released on Switch 2 for anyone who has the Nintendo Subscription. The only announcement video is in JP, but it launched everywhere if you update the Gamecube app.

I'm surprised it was just randomly shadow dropped. I was expecting them to save this for whenever they start drip feeding Fortune's Weave info.

The shitty thing about GC being Switch 2 exclusive is, I can use a modded Switch 1 to extract and inject saves on the SNES, GBA etc Nintendo Classics games (did that to unlock Hector mode and inject Pokemon on Stadium) but GC being Switch 2 exclusive means I can't extract my PoR save to continue onto Radiant Dawn.

GC being a Switch 2 exclusive? I don't know about that... and being unable to transfer a save? That seems like a modern official hardware problem, something old unofficial software does not suffer from. It's almost like we're heading backwards, and people are not only losing their property rights, but they're also losing quality of life features :). Oh well, let the modern fans suffer I say, those who will not use the technology right at their finger tips ----> can pay with their wallet.

Speaking of free...

I already beat both games on the Wii so it'll be neat to replay it on the S2. I'll look into either editing a PoR epilogue save to match my S2 playthrough or just editing RD with Paragon to have my transfer bonuses, bond supports and coins.

Ah so that’s how Metriod fans felt when they showdropped Prime 1 on their asses.
You gotta pray that the next Pokketa Monsta game is S2 exclusive so those autistic big brain nerds start working on S2 emulation/ jailbreak. Because no way I will replay RD without a new game plus savefile.
The fact they locked the true ending behind a second play through + doing some ritualistic nonsense on specific chapters was extremely frustrating to me.

This is a promotional release to get people who never played the game before an opportunity to play it. It’s not a port and it’s not something Nintendo intends to make money off of. Nobody is paying for Nintendo Online so they can play this game lol. Given how a large part of the FE fanbase is tech savvy and play on emulators it doesn’t surprise me that they didn’t bother to announce this.

Speed-up addiction from emulators is real. Use the animation time to reflect upon life.
Haven't played them recently, only in late '00s on Wii. Never really bothered me, was still cool to see everything in 3D coming off of GBA. That and enjoyed the tension that the waiting gave you, of whether you were going to tank through the enemy phase or not.

I blame Excelblem for Tellius' speed becoming such a meme when his shitpost of 3-E of RD went viral.
PoR's attack animations aren't even slow, especially on infantry units, its the establishing shots and enemy death animations + fade out that pile up.

Yet they're charging money for it via a subscription fee... Something that the buyer will never own... I'll take the free rom thanks, then I'll put in on my XHD to ensure it remains mine. Cheerio pop pop.

It’s a subscription fee for online play. There are added ‘perks’ but the point of the subscription is primarily their online content. Nintendo (and others) tried free online before and it wasn’t great and then people bitched when they shut down the servers.
