In less then three weeks (Sunday, 24.) Germany elects the new Bundestag. for more details see here
Possible coalitions are: CDU/SPD: unpopular, only if nothing else works; SPD/Linke/Grüne: unlikely because of ideological differences; CDU/FDP or CDU/Grüne: majority uncertain

The major parties and their candidates are:

CDU: 39% center right, party of chancellor Merkel, carried by her popularity

SPD: 24% center left, Martin Schulz, former president of the European Parliament, distancing themselfs from the CDU with more social justice (not in the american interpretation)

FDP: 9% liberal, Christian Lindner (youngest candidate), lower taxes, business friendly, personal freedom

Linke: 8% left, Sahra Wagenknecht (hard left) and Dietmar Bartsch (moderate left)

AfD: 8% right, Alexander Gauland (former CDU member, changed when the CDU went too centrist) anti refugees

Grüne: 7% green, Katrin Göring-Eckardt and Cem Özdemir (both from the conservative wing) prefer a coalition with CDU or SPD over the Linke

this remind me of the sweden election in 2010, when Sweden Democractes got into parlament. The same kind of REEEEEEEEEE and pissing and shitting.
This need to be Merkel last tour. She has overstayed her welcome.

Protesters Allegedly Assault AfD Chairperson's Family in Berlin

"My family was attacked. The crowd was shouting insults and throwing things at them," Meuthen said, without specifying what the protesters were throwing, and added that security employees protected his family."

:horrifying::horrifying::horrifying:

Why are they attacking them like that? Stupid people.

I see the far left in Germany have learned literally nothing from the Weimar disaster where their repeated violent interactions with anyone to the right of Stalin drove the average German straight into the arms of the most organized strongman around who promised to crack Commie skulls.

It should be noted that Merkel is extremely popular in Germany. An impressive 59% of Germans say that a fourth Merkel term will benefit their country.

https://www.welt.de/newsticker/dpa_...ls.html?wtrid=crossdevice.n24.desktop.artikel

This emphasizes that many countries (Canada, USA, UK, Netherlands, Germany) like parties in power to stay for multiple terms valuing government stability. It is rare for a party for be in power for only a single term. Since 1982 for example there have been only three chancellors of Germany.

A great deal of the next four years will be spent promoting future CDU politicians to find a successor for Merkel as she is very unlikely to run in 2021.

Because daddy said so, and daddy was Chancellor for 16 years.

Disclaimer: Not actually her father or anything, but he picked and groomed merkel for the job. She probably sucked his soul from his eyeballs at some point for a chance at eternal reign.
I doubt Germany is a functional republic if Merkel been in twelve years and got the office due to Daddy's pull.
