In less then three weeks (Sunday, 24.) Germany elects the new Bundestag. for more details see here
Possible coalitions are: CDU/SPD: unpopular, only if nothing else works; SPD/Linke/Grüne: unlikely because of ideological differences; CDU/FDP or CDU/Grüne: majority uncertain

The major parties and their candidates are:

CDU: 39% center right, party of chancellor Merkel, carried by her popularity

SPD: 24% center left, Martin Schulz, former president of the European Parliament, distancing themselfs from the CDU with more social justice (not in the american interpretation)

FDP: 9% liberal, Christian Lindner (youngest candidate), lower taxes, business friendly, personal freedom

Linke: 8% left, Sahra Wagenknecht (hard left) and Dietmar Bartsch (moderate left)

AfD: 8% right, Alexander Gauland (former CDU member, changed when the CDU went too centrist) anti refugees

Grüne: 7% green, Katrin Göring-Eckardt and Cem Özdemir (both from the conservative wing) prefer a coalition with CDU or SPD over the Linke

Like any crumbling regime they are trying to put blame on all those problems on foreign regimes.

Russia is being the new bogeymen, morons are saying their field exercises are actually ruses for a invasion of Europe (exactly how the Soviets thought nato was invading in 84 and nearly wiped humanity out via nukes).

A tad unrelated but interesting nonetheless:
A tenth of Germans want to be ruled by a "Führer to rule with an iron fist"
Half of German teenagers think that Hitler wasn't a dictator
A Third of German teenagers think that Hitler improved human rights

And to think the America gives them shit for being apologetic about their past.

I think it's more than likely :stupid: and lot of teenagers aren't that interested in politics from 80+ years ago.
History becomes pretty obtuse once it's ancient and people tend to romanticise it, even if it was horrible.
Case in point the former GDR is generally seen as positive these days even by former citizens.
You remember the good (low unemployment rate etc) but not the bad (being thrown in jail or murdered for pretty much any offence, real or imaginary)

Unless the next generation of Europeans reject political correctness, most of Europe is fucked. Germany and Sweden, so called feminist nations, leads the pack into their own grave.

Also for prediction, I expect Merkel to get another term and that nothing gets solved.

Really the only controversial position these sitting politicians have IS immigration. Merkel is extremely inoffensive in all other policy (when have you heard somebody critique her for another reason?). If immigration's not an issue for you just vote the party already in power and go on your merry way.

Immigration is slowly becoming an issue, though. I say slowly because somehow, even though it was clear from the start these immigrants don't care about becoming proper European citizens, it took multiple terrorist attacks to convince the population of such.

Unfortunately, the expectation of political correctness has infected German citizens. A Pew Research poll indicates that 70% of Germans believe that government should censor offensive speech towards minorities. This widespread acceptance of censorship leads to things like Germany's migrant crisis, how the mainstream media pushes it away to support the narration of "we need uneducated Muslims all over Europe!", and Angela Merkel opening up Germany's border.

As a consequence, when fascist ideas show up again, they appear to be new and edgy rather than just the same old shit that got Germany bombed halfway back to the Stone Age.

after voting has ended the most probable coalitions:
continuation of the existing CDU/SPD coalition (but SPD wants to go in opposition)
CDU/FDP/Green, possible but long negotiations

Seems like I'm never going to see Germany free from the grasp of that beached whale.

Why is it that Dubya's the only politician who knows how to duck?
She was prepared for being hit with tomatoes by wearing a red Mao jacket, just like she wasn't prepared for her country to be overrun with rapefugees.

It is very difficult to rhyme anything with "Merkel."
It rhymes with Ferkel, which is German for piglet. Absolutely haram.

German twitter is blowing up with outrage about the right-wing AfD being the third biggest party and getting seats in parliament. It's mini-Trump-victory/Brexit all over again: none of them get why more and more people are fed up with the status quo. It's all just REEEEing about Nazis and people being idiots.

Thats largely because normal people don't REEEE with blue checkmarks next to their name, I suppose.

Not sure if this is accurate.

Everybody salty AS. FUCK. Twitter trash flooding the world with NaCl. FAZ (prominent German paper, formerly conservative, now part of the leftie MSM) coloring the afd bar brown in their diagrams.

I have a feeling the left will take this worse than in the US with Trump, thank God for the fact that a spray can is the highest caliber they can muster in Europe.
Media is going to be MAD for years too, fertile ground for alternative info streams to come up.
