Not true. If you don't pick Paul Ferenc then you may have to actually interact with that boring piece of shit at some point in the game instead of the superior Marty, Josip or Warren.

Feels a little like contrarianism for those that don't approve of a direction a series has taken, just like how Reddit now thinks that Assassin's Creed Unity is how the way the series "should" be. Not saying that people can't have their grievances with modern AC or Far Cry, but Unity & Far Cry 2 were deeply flawed experiences in terms of gameplay.
 
Far Cry 2 was a beta that got kicked out the door. There are only vestiges of what the developers set out to make, and Ubisoft doesn't have the balls to go back and try it again.

It was essentially supposed to a true open world role playing game where what missions you took and what factions you worked for were completely up to you. That concept would have been rad as hell, but it was and probably still is too ambitious for a game with AAA levels of polish and fidelity.

But still miffed about no human guns for hire. Idk I liked in fc5 having two ppl go with u. Also it just me or was New Dawn actually hard as fuck? You def can and will die more easily. Worst mission by far was the one where the sisters rig the factory with bombs and hostages and you gotta run around while a timer is set. I didn't have my sniper rifle on me so I ended up having to pistol shoot the hooks to free the last three hostages. Worst experience ever.

You guys think that they will make the games for an adult audience again?
Far Cry 3 and 4 had nudity, drug use, and mentions of all kinds of fucked up shit that made the fictional shitholes feel real, Far cry 5 was so politically correct, you couldn't even stab people (maybe the most iconic move from FC3&4).
Far Cry 5 had good vehicle mechanics but that's the only thing that was better than what FC3 had to offer.
Like, is it really worth getting a lower age ranking in some countries if your hard-core fans can't even do a machete takedown?

Bonking people with a shovel or a bat isn't the same as doing a staby staby takedown.
Also, the other points are still valid, far cry 3 and 4 got boobs in them, far cry 5 doesn't.

It's weird how nudity was something games could get away with for a while before it vanished.

But to be fair, weren't the nipples in 3 and 4 covered with body paint?

To be fair Far cry 5 took place in montana , not a foreign nation , and eden gate uses alot of christian imagery and the christian seven sins , so the peggys arent exactly gonna have their women running around topless or anything ( i seem to remember hearing that the cult banned sex which is why they kidnapped people to bolster their ranks). Not to mention the bliss which is some military grade drug type shit. Farcry 5 wasn't as dark but it also wasn't kid friendly.

I dont think it vanished or that it's gonna vanished anytime soon.
Just for the Far Cry series, I feel like they wanted a bunch of 13+ and 15+ ratings in some countries so they removed sex, drugs & knife takedowns.
Also, yeah, I guess but you still saw the entire thing and the horny ending of FC3 is literally just a sex/murder scene like Basic Instinct Jungle Edition.
It's so graphic, the YouTube let's play videos with that scene are age restricted.

Yeah, but just remember how fucked up far cry 3 was.
You get kidnapped, they murder the other hostages and your brother. You flee and instantly gotta fight the pirates. One of your friends is at the drug doctors house who went insane after his daughter died in an accident and you really feel sorry for him because he thinks your friend is his daughter.
Your other friend is Buck's sex slave (lol, reverse buck breaking) and it's states explicitly that your friend gets anally raped by the psycho merc.
The town he's in also has lots of prostitutes and dirt and that makes it realistic. You believe that it's a real shithole.
If you loot enemies, you get real drugs like "meth pipe", not some "bliss" which isn't a real drug and therefore won't get a harsh rating by countries like Australia.
I'm not saying Far Cry 5 is has similar levels of violence as Nintendogs but it's clearly made in a away that makes it less offensive.
In far cry 3 you can chose to slit your friends throats, there's full cutscene of them bleeding out.
Idk, I just felt like FC3&4 were more targeted towards a more mature audience and FC5 wasn't officially intended for kids, but it was made in a way that parents would let their kids play it and that game journos wouldn't get offended too much.

I dont think 3s darkness would fit in a american setting , and 5 ends , cannonically , with the world getting nuked , in the other ending you literally murder all your cop buddys because of mkultra brain washing , i think 5 is probably darker than you are giving it credit for , even though 3 is pretty fucked up

Paul was my first buddy in FC2 and I will agree that the guy is as boring as they come

I didn't know at first that the mercenaries you don't choose show up as buddies in the campaign, just thought he was supposed to be a bland generic NPC like the niggas you see running around with AKs in the towns.

Also didn't know that they died permanently after being revived 3 times. He was the first one to get the bullet sacrifice, wasnt gonna waste any of my morphine with him

I have an idea for a future Far Cry game, maybe not 7, but some future entry.

Basically it's a combination of 3 and 6 and 5, another tropical island setting, but this time in the US, imagine a chain of islands off the coast of Florida very much inspired by the Florida keys but thanks to a hurricane or some other type of disaster has become cut off from the rest of the country and is now a lawless wasteland being taken over by some group or another.

Basically imagine Jimmy Buffet but with machine guns, you can also live out all your Florida Man fantasies.
