Regarding why they make the character look exactly the same as the actor, maybe the facial mocap has an uncanny valley effect when they use it on someone who looks too different from the mocap actor?

Because they're farthuffers who want REALISM OMG OSCAR AWARD WINNING VIDEOGAME

Also they're french.

At this point Ubisoft needs to shake up a bunch of shit because I can't get excited for something that you know is going to be blocked off by DLC out the ass and filled with tedious busywork that can be lessened with micro-transactions.

I'm probably going to opt for Ghost since they seem to be offering a complete game and devoid of the Ubisoft nickel and diming bullshit.

Far Cry 5 is underrated imo. I personally loved Montana and the redneck hick atmosphere of it all. Far Cry 3 is my personal fave solely because of Vaas, but 5 needs more love.
The fangirls love Far Cry 5 because of the character creator that allowed them to create self-inserts, the cult-BDSM undertones, plus the main ensemble of choose-your-type hot white bad boys. It's why there's still large enough of an active community that can sustain fanzines even into this year.

The new Far Cry definitely looks promising though, especially as they're retaining a more limited design-your-Latinx character designer.

On another note, I found that the new Watch_Dogs Legion footage was more irritating in light of recent Antifa/BLM antics and the revelations of how much of the establishment backs them.

The violence just seems less satisfying now considering CHAZ and the footage of Antifa and BLM attacking/killing people, knowing that their in-practice definition of oppression is the average citizen. This game will need to thread a thin needle in not making its violence and anarchist aesthetics feel like slavish admiration of those types.

It's a shame that Ubisoft abandoned the premise of Watch_Dogs after the first game. A group of vigilantes fighting big tech companies could have been interesting, especially now that they're tring to control the information.

No, they just want to turn the industry into a Hollywood 2.0.

I really don't get announcing this game is coming in February and not showing off some game play.

A nice built up urban environment should be interesting

Are the last few just far cry 3?

Just watch gameplay of any of the other far cry games after 3, it's all the same shit with a minor gimmick (Wow, you have tanks now! Unless 4 had em already).
Well, maybe it'll also have witcher/latest ass creed style leveling where enemies are invincible unless you get within their acceptable level range.

Yeah, I heard there's going to be an actual named main character this time. :optimistic: , but I hope they actually try to tell a fucking story, because the Far Cry "climb tower, liberate outposts" gimmick was already annoying by 4.

The weapon designs reminds me of New Dawn.

They do, but at least it makes sense. I always wondered why the weapons in 4 looked so pristine. I'm glad we're getting an FAL, though.

Watched the trailers, looked at the screens, I am hyped.

I wonder if we'll be able to spend those renegade pesos on a bottle of rum and a lime!

Maybe I remember it differently, but the first Watch Dogs involved a revenge plot as a heist gone wrong.

Aiden was more of a gray hat hacker. His monologues was just his psyche trying to reason that he is a good person.

Not a bad game, just not deserving of the hype Ubisoft placed on it.

Figure this is the best place to ask for this, but is Far Cry 3 still worth playing? The only other one I've played is 4, and I found that one to be pretty damn boring if I'm being honest. I never got that far into it because I found the world to be just plain uninteresting and process of climbing towers to unlock more shit to do just seemed kinda tedious. The general consensus is that 4 is like a less good 3, but even so I'm kinda worried that if I didn't like 4 then I wouldn't like 3.

If you didn't like Far Cry 4 you'll probably not like Far Cry 3. I don't know who said Far Cry 4 was worse than Far Cry 3, gameplay wise it was better so unless you just end up falling in love with the villain of the first half like a lot of people did or really like the tropical setting...eh I don't think you'll like it.
