The amount of BPD and mentally unstable women who end up in abusive relationships is insane. WB has a shitload of money and were banking on the Flash to be successful. They made the mistake of picking this schizo troon as the star, so they had to pull a fuckload of strings and pay off a fuckload of people (claimants, news sites, etc) to get his shit buried before release.
And this shit happened almost the entire decade. They want The Flash to be successful, but the biggest mistake was casting a schizo child groomer, even debuting in BvS in 2016, hoping that it would receive a 2018 release, but it took five more years due to his legal issues and everything the fuck else, WB said to themselves fuck it and dump it for a summer release rather than fully market it. They should've just cancelled it like what they did with Batgirl last year, but they did not, and that's depressing.
The DCEU was always a joke. Capeshit isn't dying until whatever Marvel churns out starts bombing hard and consistently, and either way we already have the next shitty cinema trend in the form of videogame movies.
Ant-Man 3 lost money and the viewership of Disney+ show hasn't been great for the most part outside a few hits like Loki. But agree Capeshit isn't dying, just box office is down for most things and people want fresh good movies, it's why GOTG3 and Spider-verse 2 two movies that fans have liked have done well, while the Flash or Antman 3 have not.
If only Barbie, the new Nolan movie and the new MI Tom Cruise movie actually do well for the summer for moviegoers, cause so far, only the fourth John Wick movie and the new Mario movie are the two big successes this year (outside of the capeshit world, anyway).
Also, have Creed 3 and a number of horror movies, that made nice money this year. Some like Fast X and Little Mermaid have good box office numbers just crazy budgets which made them lose money. In fact, all the hits this year outside GOTG3 have cost less than $100 million to make, Creed 3 $75m, Mario $100m, John Wick 4 $100m, and all those horror movies had super low budgets.
I'd say the two will do well opening weekend given the current meme status.
This is pretty much just as expected that even Paramount understood last year's box office results for Top Gun Maverick.
And then again, Iron Man wasn't even a bigger success overseas as another superhero movie called Hancock was more of a success worldwide (even despite the NA box office gross was a bit lower than Iron Man or The Dark Knight).
