Too bad said liberal sales pitch does work, especially when you look at how many people are attached to the welfare state in the US right now, but not always for what it is meant to do: give you a small boost in the right direction, via finding a real job/(hopefully) career as soon as you can ween yourself off of it, so you're not over-reliant on it.

Especially when there's real money to be made out there, without being a burden on someone else who truly needs the help - keep in mind there are a lot of lolcows we diss on here that abuse this already shite system, too.

Our income inequality is terrible, yes and it needs to be fixed. HOWEVER, our poverty simply does not compare. We have infrastructure and in some cases support. We need to do a lot more, but it doesn't compare to Brazil's favelas, Zimbabwe or most of Africa. It's insane to compare it to the third world where infrastructure doesn't exist and their medical care is non existent.

This is the UN shitting on the US because we don't tow their faggot no borders line. Just like Japan, which basically told them to fuck off. And what is the UN going to do? Throw their army of degenerate pedophiles at us?
 
How much longer is this country going to allow the constant insults by this farce of an organization? Just watch what would happen if we just told them to fuck off and leave. What do you think would happen? I'll tell you what would happen, the UN would suffer budget crisis after budget crisis and nothing of consequence would happen to us, what can they do? Declare the United States of America a rogue state? Form a UN coalition to invade and take us down?

Speaking of which, when you consider the Korean War was the first great test of the UN, and that we came out with a compromised victory which has caused nothing but misery and death, the United Nations failed on their first big challenge.

Like I said, Trump and his Congress could do some good in the world if they could pass some legislation dismantling the UN, already - that, and getting this Mexican borderwall built - maybe someday... Wishful thinking, I know - I don't mind.

Don't forget the rural coalfields of Central Appalachia. The poverty in the extreme regions of Southwest Virginia, Eastern Kentucky, and a good chunk of West Virginia is staggering in many areas. It's like a wooded Detroit for white people.

Then there's the Indian Reservations, as someone else has already mentioned. And the inner-city nightmares you just listed.

The United States has a lot of Third World-tier shitholes, especially in places like Appalachia and the Rust Belt. That being said, the UN can go fuck themselves.

This UN report is less about actually helping the poor of America and is instead just the UN and EU virtue-signaling and gloating.
