We do have some pretty extreme poverty but idk if it’s as bad as most the world. The gap between rich and poor here is amazing and we really should focus on systemic improvements because rising tides raise all boats, but this just seems like the type of thing that would encourage all sorts of people with their head in the sand to flap their wings

The U.N to me is the equivalent of a middle school hall monitor that likes to pretend that his position gives him legitimate authority over other students. He barks orders, threaten to tattle when you ignore them, write you slips for a detention that you'll probably just skip, and every other kid makes fun of him to his face and behind his back.

This is crying wolf and minimizes the problems of 3rd world countries. The hell were they thinking

Okay, UN, whatever you say.

Maybe you can send Trump a few impolite letters. He needs some new kindling, it's mid-December.

I think the only thing keeping the UN from being the League of Nations 2.0 is that they always had big daddy 'Murica to do the heavy lifting for them. So as usual the UN will shit themselves and do nothing.

I'm with you guys - yeah, poverty is an issue in the US, indeed - but the UN can go fuck themselves if they think things are that bad, just because - because Trump. Come (the fuck) on, now with that BS, please.

More and more, I'm waiting for the day Trump encourages legislation dismantling the UN... In the long run, he would be doing the world a favor, honestly. The UN sure ain't doing anyone any.

This guy, who is sucking up to countries like Venezuela to get Canada a largely-useless seat on the UN Security Council.

Lordy, we better stop sending teachers, doctors, medicine, drought-resistan grains and water purifiers to Sub-Saharian African now. America in in a worse position.

There is loads to criticize the guy for but literally something that hasn't even come to fruition yet!?

Oh, I'm sure it'll pass - then we'll see more articles (e.g.: salt) from these fools just like this one. In fact, we could use a salt thread on the UN... Not today, but someday.

I'll believe the UN's report when I come across a town in the U.S. full of nothing but huts made from roofing tin with no electricity, running water or communication and the residents drinking water from a muddy pond that they also shit in.

The UN is probably pissed because the US just made a major pro-Israel move recently and we've been shitting on them and pulling out of some of the more badly ran UN pacts.
