Alliances will have intel channels on like Discord, you can set it up to alert you if someone is coming. You can also just run something like autohotkey to check the pixels in the screen real estate and ping if it sees grey, orange, or red. It's brushing up against the TOS, but I don't think they scan for AHK process or anything like that, it's quite safe.

Because the server went offline after Goons had already formed (when Frat/WinterCo landed vexors on the grid and launched drones), then when it came back it had login timers (and probably a player cap) which made getting back in extremely slow for Goons (who were already formed up), but didn’t affect players bridging/jumping in from other systems (mostly Frat). Yeah Goons are pretty salty right now, but I don’t think any of it is unjustified. CCP knew this fight was coming for days and were still utterly unprepared for it.
The aforementioned Azariel was omega poorfit. No abyssal or deadspace mods, just faction and deadspace fittings. The guy also has at least a Komodo and Rev on grid too.
Goons brought 500 carriers, 150 supers and 1000+ vexors before the server crashed and dropped drones+fighters, alongside littering the grid with cans and corvettes. Winterco formed sacs to contest and then reshipped to vexors after the node shit itself. BTW that Azariel was smartbombing up until the end when he dumped his fit so he knew what was going on
How are they supposed to prepare for over 10k players? Players just shove the max in every time, then bitch and whine at CCP when their tactics of overloading the servers with inputs and calculations makes the node fuck up. Goons did it at m2- and thought they could get the same benefits, but this time they ate shit.
