apparently this quote was carved into (or written on) the wall in one of the cells in the
Mauthausen concentration camp by a Jewish prisoner during the Holocaust. But no, please tell us, 21st century white Western atheist, about how you've experienced suffering on par with that of a Holocaust victim.
But for real, what happened to those poor people during the Holocaust would make
anyone question their faith, especially if that was what they were being persecuted for. I remember reading
Night by Elie Wiesel for a literature class and it broke my heart, especially when he describes how he slowly lost his faith in God after seeing and experiencing so much suffering.
