Incoming whiny rant about cheaters.

So I was playing a bit with a duo, i'm mostly solo player. This wipe he has 15 the Kd and over 85% survival rate. Normal wipes he is at 3-4 kd and sub 50% survival.

I joined his chat when he was playing with another friend and streaming, guy was aiming through the ground and staring through walls.

Had to cut him loose and he is not taking it well.

The people who introduced me to the game were all cheaters, half the people I meet in discords are cheaters, ive hung out with cheaters and watched them stream their cheats and seen all the other cheaters staring at them through walls as well. At this point I believe that at least 25-30% of the player base is cheating.

There is such a marked difference playing with people who don't cheat. At this point I can tell who is cheating just by the way they talk. It's a certain type of personality.

Still playing and doing ok. My map knowledge is keeping me alive.

I really enjoy the game. It's so hard and I need a challange to have fun. The cheaters make it a little too hard though. I often wonder what my Kd would be like there were no cheaters. I get the drop on non cheaters all the time AND I win 80% of my CQBs. I feel like the God of this game I should be with 5k hours, when I don't see a cheater. Cheating basically sucks the air out of my sails. I ran up on a guy in Arena last night who jumped as high as my player, did a 180 in the air, and insta 1 tapped me in the head. Not even Landmark or pestily can do that shit. Just makes me mad.

The specter is only good for sniping, the ergo on it is dogshit. I killed a guy last night with one on a m4a1, I was running a stock aug. I sold the specter. People trying to ADS with that thing in CQB get wrecked. Have to hip fire.

The game feels like it's in a really good state right now. I'm happy there's some new crafts. You can make AK-74s for roughly 10k roubles a pop now through workbench level 1.
 
I just unlocked Lighthouse and I'm trying to learn this garbage map. I avoided it for my first 150 hours because I have heard how shit it was. Why in God's name is this shitshow designed like a funnel? Give me the Icebreaker/ Story update so that it'll make this map tolerable.
 
Yeah I'll admit I'm PvE because I hate bullshit exfil campers and hackers. I'm still having fun teaming up with a friend because we still get amazing moments. We were approaching the checkpoint to leave through crossroads on woods, but we were interrupted by one scav. Then 3 more showed up, and ultimately it was a 9v2 when we had one magazine each and needed to scavenge behind tree cover to avoid being instantly slaughtered. Good shit. It does feel like there's a memory leak somewhere because my frames have been chugging a bit with the latest hot fix.
 
Had to refund mine because Linux compatibility may as well be 0.

Apparently the main menu background is affecting this. Woods and one other (I forget which but it's on reddit somewhere) give improved performance. I changed mine to woods and got improved frames.

You might be onto something because I did change that the theme to random the couple of days ago. That's so retarded why that matter when in raid?

So Tarkov was founded by four dudes in a basement, and they were not great coders. As a result, the game is built on extremely bad code. Nikita has said as much. They would have to rewrite the code from the ground up to improve things. I wish they fucking would tbh.
 
I got gifted this game on Steam. I’ve been playing Arc Raiders on and off and a friend decided that I needed to not play in the kiddie pool… so I installed SPT.

I don’t really know what I’m doing or if I’ve got things set up right. I’ve only ever encountered NPCs in pairs, and they walk nearly single file behind each other. When I shoot at them, it seems to activate their scripting or something, and then they start trying to return fire, find cover, etc. Is this normal? I haven’t looked into mods or anything yet, but from what I understand, there may be quirks because this is a new build.

Also, the game dumped me immediately into a tutorial with the lowest graphical settings possible (I have a 5090), and I couldn’t make any changes because I was “in a raid”. The first game I decided to play was on Interchange which was apparently a huge mistake. I had no idea where to extract, I didn’t know many of the keybinds, so I just died after wandering around for 30 minutes. Awesome experience

Tarkov is essentially a giant knowledge check. It doesn't explain anything to you and if you don't have an experienced friend you're going to have a bad time. The AI is dumb as shit until you come across a boss, guard, or rogue, in which case they'll laser you through a bush. It's one of those games that has super low lows but when it hits it really fucking hits.
 
Setup is a nightmare with all these drops giving everyone good gear. And if they dont have good gear they are perched somewhere with the lever action and impossible to get close enough with a shotgun.

Getting more grenadier kills than setup kills lol. Grenade kills are fun though and cutoms has a few doors you can tripwire for some shenanigans.

Also it's thanksgiving break so the squeekers are out in full force.
