Of course you'll never miss a mainline quest. You can't even progress without those, but you absolutely can miss side quests, and if you don't want to, a guide is a perfectly valid option.
The question I would ask then is if you have to finish everything in a first playthrough. It's really not that kind of game. Rather, it follows an old fashioned philosophy where quests are merely small bonuses to help you on your journey of murdering any beast that stands in your way. Following a guide to beat all the quests or min max or w/e on a first playthrough is an unnecessary concern best left for a subsequent playthrough. Missing stuff is fine.

I'm assuming almost all the people in this thread have at least tried the character creator and as such I'll ask the following questions.
What voice did you pick for the Arisen?
What inclination and voice did you pick for your main Pawn?

I picked Gallant Knight 1 for the Arisen. The laugh sold it for me.
And for the Pawn, I picked Calm and Calm Wise 1. The voice works for the gorilla woman I'm thinking of making my pawn. It also helps that I like the sultry mature type voices.
Gallant Knight 1 for Arisen, Straightforward Nonchalant 1 for Pawn. They really have to add more voices.

Depends on if you are actually planning on playing the game more than once. As I said, the first game is largely linear. Many people may not actually be interested in doing more than one playthrough, and either want to see everything in one go around, or see the particular storylines of the particular characters they like, and they shouldn't be precluded from that.

not seen the stream myself but i heard Asmongold tried playing the first game and it ended in total disaster. refused to read anything, got Filtered by the Hydra (he did kill it on the second try) and had a small mental breakdown after being called a retard by chat, so far as saying he has a learning disability as an excuse! oh, and he keep using the rusted sword and didint bother getting any better gear or buy any skills and core skills.

his sub-reddit is locked down atm.

the stream if you interested (2 hours long)

I'm not waching anything from that goblin since the 20+ clips channels will get recommended to me again, but that hilarious that he got filtered by the first boss. WoW rotted that little gobbos brain, lets hope they didn't water the 2nd game down for these mongoloids.

I'm not sure how this will be in DD2, but as long as there's a hint that it's a time sensitive issue,
One of the previews I watched said that a quest about finding a missing NPC ended with the NPC either alive or dead depending on how much time you took to solve the issue.

Sub 80 IQ nigger getting filtered is my favorite genre of video.

I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing, but knew enough that you cut at a hydras head and after cutting at it a few times it seemed to just die. I figured it was a scripted battle like the first Dragon in fact.

Downloaded the character creator late last night and fucked around with it. Tried to make a Conan the Barbarian based on comics/artwork and not Arnold. I think it came out alright, but looking at the screenshots I think I accidently gave him Cillian Murphy eyes.

I tried making a woman pawn but it came out looking ugly as sin, which I don't know if that's intentional or I'm just bad with character creators.

Assuming you find the following character attractive enough, here's a link with the settings, most important being the base head.

This is one of my other pawns, as I made several playing around, so either take it as is or fiddle around yourself.

Seeing all the great stuff people make and almost need a full on video to get everything makes me really, really wish Capcom including a shareable link for the creator.

Nothing worse then seeing a great design and the person doesn't include the slides.

I do like that this time around you can lure monsters into towns and encampments and cause a big fuss. I did that a lot in Skyrim. It's something that Witcher 3 lacked. And monsters actively targeting and attacking each other now. In the first game they only hit each other incidently while they all focused on you.

It's small stuff but it gives the world a lot more life

I could of sworn that bandits would fight against goblins and monsters but I might be misremembering. Could you link where you heard this? It sounds like we might not have to load a separate cell for towns.

Charlize Theron?
If there's a resemblance, it was never my intention. I didn't use anything as a reference. I just picked a good base head and started sculpting.

In all fairness, it's possible they didn't expect people would be so bad at the character creation and would need all the slider settings.
They actually were optimistic about the player base.

To me, personally, the funniest thing about this is a certain realization.
You know how now-a-days people complain that westoid games are chock full of ugly women with borderline tranny faces?
Well, seeing all the abominations created with this tool and their creators unironically thinking they did a good job, made me think that it's not a developer issue, but rather a general westoid problem.

I literally beheaded the thing with rusty daggers what the fuck is wrong with this NEETard

Most recent capcom showcase. It's on the DD YT channel. Also, no, all enemies were in the same faction including giant monsters, so the bandits you were fighting would randomly get backup in the form of a wandering Chimera or a pack of starving wolves lol. Many a time I would rage at the fact that choosing evil gave you an alliance with all manner of beasts as I was juggled between multiple groups of foes. One of the first things they showed off this time was monsters not liking each other anymore.

New video dropped

Shows a few new things, like cool new drip, new skills (Get Over Here skill from Scorpion being my fav), new spells and some NPC and Pawn interaction.

Sadly can't remember the specific preview vid but it was 2 Cyclops actively targeting a Griffin while ignoring the player. You might be right, maybe the human enemies fought the monsters in the first game - been years since I played it. But monsters didn't attack each other on purpose as far as I remember.

As for the monsters infiltrating villages and Castles

https://youtu.be/DSMvHirgtXo?t=636 10:35

Certain NPCS would help fight monsters in the first game, sometimes the guards would just stand and watch you like retards, sometimes they participated. But this time it looks like everyone in the village will help out.

No your, right I just remembered a group of high level bandits that was positioned right next to a chimera spawn point and 9/10 times when fighting the bandits the chimera would join in.

They had the chain pull skill in the first game, but it was unique to strider and it was kind of shit so nobody used it.
