The game might actually be hard, there is no difficultly option. I'm hoping the developers saw the love Elden Ring got and just went fuck it, keep it hard.

Looks like after failing to get the brazilin banned from Steam for the Sweet Baby Curator group they now are trying to cancel asmondgold for talking about Sweet Baby.

The fact they have these people as lawns make me genuinely worry that the story has been compromised by some SBI type group.

The map seemed big, but it looked like you basically had a road and could not go the beaten path because you had mountains or rocky hills put there, as a form of blocked access. I guess the concern here is the railroad aspect of it. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the impression I got
This was the case in the first game largely, and its one of the reasons I'm largely worried about the lack of fast travel. If it turns out that the large world is false advertising and its just a bunch of preset paths again, then the lack of fast travel will only make the game more tedious in the long run, which, once again, was a major complaint of the first game and why they eventually added the Eternal Ferrystone to Dark Arisen versions of the game from the start. Fast travel wouldn't even be that hard to implement. Just say that Rift access points, once visited, will act as fast travel points, and you can exit out to any Rift once you've entered it.

The guy has been running around aimlessly for two fucking hours trying to progress an early game quest :story:

When I tuned in he was already lost, so I can't tell if the game really doesn't hold your hand or if this dude is an absolute mongoloid (probably both tbh)
We live in an age where people unironically ask "what am I supposed to do/where am I supposed to go" despite having quest markers and tutorials that freeze the screen and explain things in detail. It's best to assume anyone doing let's plays/streams is just an actual retard.
I'm gonna get the Sphere Hunter pawn and repeatedly toss it off the biggest cliff I can find for an hour or so before feeding them to an ogre.

I believe in getting the maximum possible enjoyment from a game if I'm going to drop $70.
Best way to get your moneys worth is not engaging with the faggoty Dev made pawns and playing the game. I'm sure they have some sort of algorithm to track how often and for how long their pawns are hired for. Best to just ignore them entirely or blam them with neg reviews and immediately fire them at most.
The devs admitted they don't hold your hand so all of this sounds great. It would be amazing to just get lost in the world again with only a crude map and what ever the NPCs mention.

The only thing that might get annoying quick would be lack of real instant quick-travel ( besides the carts that take you to major hubs) so have to plan out which region to focus on at a time.
If it's anything like the first game, you'll be immediately buttfucked for going into an area ahead of time, thus discouraging you from exploring before the game wants you too. Think of how the path to the witchwood had OP bandits, gangs of saurians and a fucking chimera. Sure you could just run around them, but then you'd hit the drake in front of the shadow fort. You might be able to overcome these obstacles, but it would mean you either ran through everything or spent potentially hours grinding away.

The first game really didn't encourage exploring and I'd be very surprised of this game backtracked on that design choice.

From what I heard that the creator pawns are different from the regular shareable pawn.
For example, they cannot learn new stuff and limited to platforms.
Also it’s basically worse than downloadable palico and palamute from Monster Hunter Rise.

What I saw and made me a bit concerned was the following:
1. During a cutscene, the lip sync seemed weird and goofy, like something from 20y ago.
2. NPC reaction was weird. The dude entered a church, killed the nuns and left like it was nothing. He also escaped prison in the full view of the guard and they didn't give any shit
Yep sure sounds like Dragon's Dogma. This is not Baldur's Gate 3.

There are roads, but if it's anything like the first game you'll definitely need to stray a fair way to find interesting shit. Getting lost at night is a good way to find harder enemies.
im not buying this tranny loving piece of dogshit game.
Just like all the Antifa trannies and Sweet Baby cocksuckers boycotting the game because there's an Asmon pawn. It's all so tiresome.

I mean, the only reason I'm not buying the game at launch is because I'm not spending $70 for the "privilege" of having to deal with Denuvo.

This has been my reaction to most of the game's negative press.

>Whoa low enemy variety!
Quality > quantity, each fight with a monster in DD is vastly more interesting than fights in almost any other RPG.
>WAAAH TRANNIES!
Where?
>WHY ALL THE NIGGERS?
Literally always existed in DD, actually one of the best side characters in DD is a based negro.
>Linear world design!
You could always walk off the beaten path in DD. Roads pave the way for you, but I'll take this over endless empty fields with bandit camps any day of the week.
>Bad graphics!
DD was never a looker.

enjoy your tranny game no reason to broadcast it dude
That's cool, but you do know it's a marketing gimmick and entirely optional, right?
Now, please kindly fuck off to the porncow thread as it seems talking about your favorite jerk off material is more to your liking.

This is valid criticism.
We'll have to see for ourselves, but if 4x the map means you have a lot of inaccessible terrain, that's a bit jewy.

From what footage I've seen, the game looks fine. I'm more worried about performance and the PC port.
Still, just because the game had mediocre graphics 10 years ago, it's not an excuse to have the same now.

Dragon's Dogma has always been jank. And yet, you can't go wrong.

Well, until they added Denuvo. Which was completely pointless, a good chunk of the point of DD is the interesting pawns you can hire!
Would have been better if they made the offline pawns extra shitty (the kind of made the content creators ones like that).

Wanna pirate the game? Well have fun only playing with the content creator pawns shitbag. They are just as retarded in the game as they are in real life.

If I've learned one thing about games in the last decade its that "our game is (insert impressive sounding number) bigger than the last one" means nothing. You either get a game thats close to the original's density, but where a third of the map is inaccessible water or mountains you can't climb, or a Ubisoft-style open world game where nothing between objectives is worth a damn.

DD2 has the big water part and the mountains. I will be disappointed if they didn't manage to actually double the original's playable area. The gameworld design will probably be more linear to compensate for the lack of quest markers. As long as they keep the guiding hand subtle it won't be a big deal.

Just wanted to post this

Apparently, if a Golem's head falls you can move it around and it still shoots the laser

You guys will say shit like this then wonder why games take sixteen years to come out. Fuck graphics. Give me PS3 tier textures with 100 GFPS I don't give a fuck.

This is the kind of shit I imagine time was spent expanding. Interactions like this gave DD a lot of soul and added fun.
