If they ever make a new DA game (fat chance) the only way they can save it if all of ass guard was just a dream or the whole cast got killed by a nuke.
They basically killed my boy Warden, my boy Hawke and made more faggier the Inquisitor.
Isn't even a chance.
Better make the 6th Blight as canon, but destroy all know Thedas.

Veilguard is so bad that some variation on "it was all a bad dream" would be a valid way of rescuing the franchise.

I love seeing such failure after so much pompous behavior and coping. Still a slower burn of failure than concord (will concord ever be beaten??? probably not) but amusing none the less.
Hyenas? Don't remember how much it cost to produce but at least Concord was actually available to buy for a period and had spin-off material.

If you own PS+ then avoid it at all costs. Don't even browse it. The people behind it are so desperate to excuse it they might actually try and count "individual page accesses" in the number of "units" "sold".
They're absolutely hoping for hate plays and im torn between doing it or not since I was playing through the first 3 anyway. Pretty fucking pathetic honestly. Im not usually someone who gets annoyed or assmad about the inclusion stuff in RPGs (look at my posts on KCD2) but veilgard was so fucking ridiculous on its face, literally with them making faces look less masculine across the board.

Never thought I'd say this but I'm so glad these cunts will likely never get to touch the old republic IP again with broadsword running the MMO (excellently too) and the new team for the remake. They'd probably rape and pillage their entire IP library if they could.

Personally I want it to be that Carver Hawke living is canon and he shows up and just murders whatever characters remain and trains your player character to be a Gray Warden to fight the blight.

Yeah I know Carver pisses people off because he is a dick to Hawke. Hawke deserves it. Especially the “Humorous” Hawke. Having Carver as a figure like Auron from FFX or Duncan from Origins would actually be a good touch to a future game. Even if he became a Templar just make it so he became a Warden later. If he died fighting the Ogre, no he lived and the Wardens saved him when he worked his way out of Fereldan.

He’s probably the only party member besides Sebastian I like at all in DA:2 it could hold up.

Carver is a good rival character. A lot of resentment is visible by you being a mage.
I liked Bethany. But isn't the same friction as Carver.

My problem with Bethany is that she doesn’t have a lot of personality. She just sort of goes along with what you do. I guess she sort of implies she’s bi at some points in the game but that’s pretty much everyone except Carver, Varric and Sebastian (Remember Carver likes Merrill).

I like Carver because he actually has an interesting story dynamic. No matter what you do he is trying to prove himself and soldier on. Even then he expresses a lot of loyalty even if he hates you. To me this makes him the best character in the series because to a guy like me he is relatable. I have family I don’t like but I stand by them when needed.

Alternatively you get him to like you. And you are sort of a hero to him by that point. Since I am religious and I play a mage in that game I usually let Carver become a Templar - because it does make the game more interesting and gives his character a different layer of depth what with his interest in Merrill and I play a female Hawke so his sister being a Mage. Even as a Templar he stands by you.

Alternatively if he becomes a Warden he actually does thank you for saving him a few times if you and him aren’t rivals. It’s sort of heartwarming. But I see the canon end as him being a Templar and kind of just pissed off you never took him to where he gets Darkspawn AIDS and has to join the fantasy French Empire for the rest of his life fighting weird mutants for 10-15 years. Being a recovering alcoholic that goes to Church all the time and maybe getting with a Welsh chick with face tattoos and pointy ears sounds like a better life. Also gets him some powers if you play Legacy.

Just pirate it if you're curious. They knew it would fail hard and didn't even spend money on half decent copy protection (like on all other EA titles).
That way they can't count you as a player.

Sony poured $400 million to produce Concord after they spent somewhere between $200-400 mil buying the studio. And the game had already had $100 mil+ budget burned through before Sony stepped in. It's quite possible that they literally set $1 billion usd on fire with Concord.

The Failguard is bad. But it's not quite Concord tier bad.

Problem is, they nuked half of Thedas. They’d have to somehow write around that

Carver wants to make a name for himself and escape his sibling’s shadow.

Bethany just wants to “be normal”. She is the reason why the Hawke family was always hiding and on the run. She’s genuinely happier in the Kirkwall circle. She can become a grey warden-in which case she very clearly resents you. Carver absolutely loves it though. Gives him a chance to be his own man, and not just “Hawke’s brother”.

Bethany is the baby of the family who feels guilty that she causes them so much distress, Carver has a chip on his shoulder due to being overshadowed by Hawke. Bethany wants a normal life-if you make her a warden, she hates it. So honestly it’s a wash depending on the class you play. I like them both.

I'd really like to see stats on how far the people who try it get before dropping it. This game is literally for no one even if you can look past the woke stuff.

@Ishtar yeah I do get that. It seems like both want order and Stability which is giving me a headcanon that the Hawke parents just legit sucked at parenting. I know it’s not exactly that but you basically have a couple of twins with no direction in life.

Letting Bethany join the circle is definitely more charitable than her becoming a Warden. I just think she lacks a lot of personality. Carver wants to prove himself in every way. They are twins but sort of opposites. However I think Fenris basically steals Carver’s spot as a character but I hate his design and honestly having a hostile brother or one you reconcile with is a better story.

Even if Bethany becomes a Circle Mage and Carver a Templar or you have to make one a Warden it would be a better story. I can’t stand Anders and Fenris.

I love Fenris, and while Anders has the worst fandom I think I've ever seen(which admittedly isn't much), I do think there is a tragic pathos to DA2 Anders? Anders and Justice corrupted each other, in the pursuit of an impossible revolution. Still though listening to that inquisition song, enchanters, about how the mages are deciding to rebel for a chance at freedom-however slim, does remind me of Anders.

Fenris is a deconstruction of the "broody anti hero" trope-he's unpleasant and mean spirited. Not someone most people would tolerate hanging around with for long. (You know the sort of broody loner archetype). But if you can get past that, he's a character I've grown to appreciate a great deal.

The HoF barring the calling being cured was going to die at some point anyway-that's the entire point of the Wardens(though the HoF would be a one man army of destruction in the deep roads). Hawke may or may not be dead depending on your Inquisition choice, and the Inquisitor is fine, probably the most important person south of Tevinter by the end of the series.

Hyenas? Don't remember how much it cost to produce but at least Concord was actually available to buy for a period and had spin-off material.
Pulling this out my ass, but I think I heard Sega sunk $200 million into Hyenas before pulling the plug, and that probably includes marketing (because there was none) so I think Concord remains king of shit mountain.
Suicide Squad took longer to be made a freebie than this lmao
Funnily enough Suicide Squad also got dropped on PS+ after it was announced they were cancelling the roadmap. I'm sure Redfall would have been there too if Microsoft wasn't jealously guarding their own total fuck-ups.
I'd really like to see stats on how far the people who try it get before dropping it. This game is literally for no one even if you can look past the woke stuff.
It's not an exact science, but you can kind of work this out by looking up the trophies for the game and seeing what percentage of players got what. According to PSN Profiles, 52% of players completed the game, and judging by the story trophies it looks like most people drop the game about halfway through.

What's interesting is the page also gives a number for how many people own the game (not sure how they get this data though) and it's allegedly 11,653 lol. For comparison's sake, here's Final Fantasy 16's story trophies (estimated 122k players):
